There are a few good things about this hotel - Location is excellent, right near the most important tourist attractions, near a metro station - Pool and saunas are good - Staff is friendly There are quite a few things that could definitely use improvement - Rooms are noisy, better bring your ear-plugs if you want some night-sleep! - Breakfast is until 10:00. This means that staff starts cleaning and removing food at 09:50 so that at 10:00 there is nothing left except some (instant, powder based) coffee. - Breakfast is mediocre - Wifi connection is unreliable and poor - We booked a two rooms with a connecting door (family setup). When we arrived, the two rooms were at different floors, one of them was actually part of such a connecting setup, but the interconnecting doors were closed, the other room was occupied. This can happen. They told us that they would try to fix this, so we could have the other room and have the family setup after all. The next day we were asked if it was ok for one room to move so we would be on the same floor. We declined, because the rooms were not connecting, no need to change in that case. At that moment we were told that the connecting rooms were taken by another family and we NEEDED to move.... Seriously?
One of the worst hotel experiences def not 4 star 1 star is what the real deal is where to start rooms too small house keeping can walk in anytime in the early morning by 8:30 expect them knocking the door and inside the room not once it happened everyday once i was in the shower bar staff only two ppl are nice the rest are there just to annoy the life out of u breakfast same every day a water is 1 euro u r not allowed to buy it outside the hotel for 1 lira location is perfect though and thats the only great thing never again
I recently stayed in this hotel for 5 nights. The room was small but comfortable, included minibar, but no coffee maker or an lectric kettle for making a tea or coffee. The shower was nice and roomy, hair blower was very outdated. Houskeeping was provided every day. Breakfast was included every morning as a buffett style and food was fresh , lots of variety, some was changed daily; like american-style pancake, french toast, sausage. The location is great, easy to get there from Ataturk airport ( take metro until yanikapi and marmaray to sirkeci. go with the levator to level 9 and its right there) walking distance to Gulhane park, Topkapi palace, Aya sophia, Blue Mosque, Basilica Cistern. Save location, did not have any problem even night time to walk to the hotel. lots of stores and suveneir shoppe near by close to Eminonu for the ferry. Everybody were super nice, specially the receptionist with blue eyes and curly hair( sorry forgot to ask his name) he gave us perfect dirrection to everywhere ,advise us on how much usually coast certain things. He is the number one reason I would go back to this hotel, His hospitality was above beyond!!!! And I also have to mention another person , she works at the spa! ( sorry forgot your name) she was also excelent!!! THANK YOU FOR BOTH OF YOU FOR EVERYTHING!!! The spa is small but comfortable, offers a sauna, steam room, a little pool( not for swimmingbut for fun) and a jacuzzi. They also have a turkish bath( hamam) what I would recommend to try the only negativ about it their is no sign to ppl is it in used. I had a service and 2 times i was disturb by ppl entered in!!!!! PLEASE CHANGE THAT!!! NOBODY WANT TO BE EXPOSED NAKED TO STRANGERS! Another negativ about the hotel is the carpet. its so filty you cant tell what was the original color of it. Its vacuumed and clean but nasty. Overall i would go back and recomend the hotel, hopefully those 2 isssues gonna be fixed in the future.
great location but not 4 star at all. we are staying here now and i'm in corridor to write this!!! almost no internet at rooms.little rooms with tiny bath noisy car wash nearby that starts at 7 a.m pool is useles and the food is below normal can't bring any food or water to hotel and mini bar water is 1 € i have been to many hotels better than this in turkey with same or less price
We had a 3 x single beds in one room in this hotel for one night. Positives Well located to the Mariyama tube station so easy to travel by public transport to Ataturk airport by tube. Male receptionist with blue eyes and braces on his teeth (forgot his name-apologies) was very helpful and spoke excellent English and went out of his way to assist us Offered a complimentary soft drink on our arrival in reception whilst tried to be sold a Turkish night (which we were not interested in) Comfortable beds AC Modern shower room Can leave luggage post check out to sight see Well located in walking distance of the blue mosque, Hagia Sophia and the basilica cistern and the gulane park Safety deposit box in room Pool on terrace looked clean but very small Bar tender on terrace could not speak English or Turkish and communication for simple ordering of drinks and asking to pay was difficult. Copy of printed bill for me was not given despite asking so had to take a picture of it and paid bill on check out. A small beer, iced tea and a sprite cake to 29TL to drink on terrace Great views of city and river from terrace. We were the only guests on the terrace. Complimentary shampoo and shower gel provided There are 2 elevators that work well. Most staff are friendly there Negatives Pool in the spa area was cloudy and it smelt bad and was very small to swim in. I had to buy a swimming cap for 10TL to use pool then was only in for 5 minutes due to it being dirty. No showers in pool area for people to wash prior to entering pool. Jacuzzi was cloudy and looked non operational Small room with 3 beds in, made it difficult for 2 adults and one child to occupy it comfortably. Self service Breakfast was awful apart from the freshly cooked American style pancakes orange juice was weak squash, too many tables and chairs made it difficult to sit down and get up. No milk in the coffee machine at breakfast for cappuccinos I own a villa constructed and managed by the owner of this hotel and no special discount was offered, apart from the possibility of an extra hour in the room after check out but we did not need this Reception called us at 11.30 am to remind us to check out at 12pm. Staff member came in to check the contents of the mini bar whilst we were about to leave the room at 12 noon. I would not stay here again due to the negatives as we like a clean nice pool to swim in and a decent breakfast. For an orka hotel I was disappointed as the ones in fethiye region are excellent!
This hotel has a very good location. It is near to Ghulhanah tram station and also to Sarkaje tram and train station. The rooms are very small and the carpet in the room was very dirty. The choices in the breakfast are very limited.
My visit to the hotel was a great experience Everything is excellent The rooms are a bit small but all the hotels in this area are the same way Breakfast is good but it could be better Staff are helpful Cleanliness is excellent
The rooms are small, with a small fridge and a small TV. But, that's not what you are here for! The hotel is situated in the old part of town, it is literally minutes away from all sorts of interesting things. The tram station is less than five minutes away and of course that will take you almost anywhere you want to go. The Eminou are (where all the ferries are) is also about five minutes away. As is the main train station (or one of them) where actually the Orient Express used to leave from. You can get anywhere in Istanbul from here. The good news is, that most things are downhill to the hotel (great when you've been walking all over the place!) We walked from The Hagia Sophia and it was about 20 minutes (downhill!). So, we have established that it is very close to all the main attractions, and for that for this alone, the hotel is worth it. The hotel itself. 1. The rooms are small and not a lot of storage space, in fact in number 516, had no drawers, only one wardrobe and the carpets needed cleaned. The doors are very thin and we could hear children in the hall screaming (what is it about these parents, allowing their "little gems" to run rampant in a hotel at midnight!). 2. The bathroom is small, but well appointed, with all the amenities. 3. The beds are doubles not queen sized. 4. the wifi was good and strong, but seems throttled after a while of data usage. 5. The hotel bar is good and the beer is cold and reasonably priced $5 a pint, for draught. 6. The hotel staff, except for one individual were excellent, really brilliant. 7. The hotel rooftop pool is lovely and there is a bar up there. Nothing fancy, but the views are excellent! We were treated very well here, but the screaming kids kinda spoiled it for us. Recommend
In a magical part of the city, it is one of the very few hotels that has a roof top pool! I have been here twice as I have family in Istanbul and it never disappoints, I will be staying there next year when I return to Istanbul. It is right in the centre of sultanhamet, you couldn't get a better location.
Rooms really small and breakfast limited... but guess I should not compare to other cities .... staff are helpful and friendly... at least it is quiet at night for a good rest before the next day of walking through this busy city
