Very well positioned easy walking distance to all attractions, the rooms are just magnificent. Very well laid out with tasteful furnishings, The staff were most helpful for planning any excursions that i had planned ...a well appointed hotel , 11/10
Well situated within walking distance of tons of attractions, this hotel is a real bargain. The rooms are large with king size beds and the hotel is very clean. The staff seem as if they are accustomed to dealing tourists and speak English very well.
Highly recommended. 10/10. Rooms are super huge with what seems like 15 foot ceiling and king size beds. Very luxurious. Location couldn't get better. Perfect to explore the old city and in walking distance to everything incl Sofia Hagia, topika Palace, grand bazaar to name a few. Even better it is 5 mins walk to the galata bridge which you can take to go to istikal street etc. Hotel is in a super quiet and safe area. In fact I have not came across an unsafe part of Istanbul. I read a lot of people being panicky and apprehensive due to the instability of the area but as a person from NYC I can tell you I felt way more comfortable in Istanbul than I did in New York City. People are kind and friendly and helpful if you ask them any question. Staff/Front desk was super nice/friendly and helpful. I love this hotel. Hotel staff was extremely friendly. It is really an opulent 5 star hotel at a fraction of the price you'd pay at other more pretentious ones. This is the real deal. Building is amzing. Breakfast was adequate.
Stayed here three nights the entrance is impressive. The road is closed so taxis have to drop you up the road at sirkeci tram and you need to walk down with your luggage for a few mins (on leaving the bell boy assisted us). We were apparently upgraded (we had asked for sea view room) and got a street view room which was fine big and spacious so no complaints comfy beds slept well. As muslims we were fasting so had checked ahead of arriving that suhoor or early breakfast at 2am would be provided. We were quite disappointed at this breakfast as there was no bread (they clearly hadn't replaced it) when we went at 3am and the food options were very basic given the standard of the hotel. I can't seem to recall seeing any water either. I would say so many options outside probably better to eat out. Next day was better having complained about lack of bread there was a lot more and it was better. Managed to get by on boiled eggs bread and some salad. Last day as we were travelling back we had normal breakfast as we couldn't fast and that was certainly much better than the limited suhoor options. They had yoghurts and pancakes and clearly a lot more option although it could still be much better for a 4-5 star rated hotel. Despite that the restaurant offers amazing views of the bosphurus the bridge the galata tower etc. Location is absolutely ideal a few mins to either sirkeci or eminonu. It was perfect for us to keep visiting the sites and bazaars and ferry rides and coming back to rest at the hotel due to ideal location given that we were fasting we couldn't stay out all day as it would be too tiring. They allowed us a slightly later check out which was nice of them however my only complaint and shock was that just as we were about to leave with taxi waiting(having already officially checked out one hour before) the receptionist asked us if we took anything from the minibar (which was obviously no as we've been fasting) and secondly she asked if we took bath robes?! I was extremely surprised at such a pathetic and stupid question to which the reply is obviously no. If they had cared to check with their cleaning staff they would have found out that each day we requested bath robes and next morning they were taken back by cleaning staff. That really messed up my overall opinion of this hotel and left a sour taste and ending to what would have been an amazing 4 days in Istanbul, so I've given it 3 stars otherwise I would have given 5!
Just a few blocks from the Spice Bazaar and a comfortable walk to the Grand Bazaar and Blue Mosque. Also close to the tram which makes it very easy to get around the historic center. Rooms are nice, though my bed was a little oversized for me room, making closet access a little challenging. My AC also didn't work but the temp was ok anyway (it's possible they did not yet have the system on for the summer).
We found an attractive offer with Legacy Ottoman during May/June, which is usually three/four times as expensive during the busier summer season. Our visit to Istanbul was to celebrate my graduation, which the hotel (with the help of my family) supported by providing a celebratory cake. The buffer breakfast is an extra, but worth every penny as it provides the perfect panoramic view of Istanbul. The rooms were very spacious and the staff were also very welcoming and flexible with the rules. (We were allowed an early check-in as our flight arrived at 4am). I will impatiently awaiting for my next stay with Legacy Ottoman hotel - each one of its 5 stars is truly deserved!
I chose to book and stay at Legacy Ottoman Hotel because it is conveniently located in Sultanahmet. It's my first time in Istanbul and I wanted to familiarize myself with the historical and cultural side. So that's why I stayed here. It's very near to the Hagia Sofia, Basilica Cistern and Blue Mosque. I love the neighborhood as well. You could just step out from the hotel and all you see are varieties of shops, al fresco dining restaurants, tourists and locals combined. I only walked from hotel to the Grand Bazaar. It's like everything is walkable in this area. Metro and tramway were very accessible too. Tried both; metro from hotel to Taksim Square and tramway from Grand Bazaar back to the hotel. Best experience ever. The staff were lovely as well. Upon check-in, the Front Desk upgraded me to Deluxe Room. That's very kind of them, considering that I just flew in from Cappadocia to Istanbul that night. The room is huge and I slept like a baby. Bed was super comfy. The bathroom was complete with toiletries. Has a hairdryer as well. And the most important thing, working hot and cold shower. Breakfast spread was amazing. Not too much but not too little as well. I wish I had more time to spend in the hotel because my guide named Ur said the hotel has the most amazing restaurant which serves a dish, I forgot, but it has something to do with press. Oh well, perhaps next time.
When I am writing this review I still in the hotel for more 2 days from total 11 days the hotel is so beautiful Reflects the Ottoman architectural style As a building belonging to the Ottoman Empire the employees is so helpful and kind specially Mr.Alp from reception (I would like to thank him for all advice and help Which he gave me), the location of the hotel is amazing in the middle of the all Attractions and archaeological sites and behind iminono station and galata bredg. During that I passed two notices: 1-the restaurant need to improvement. 2-I noticed a lack of respect for the guest's own times of continuous door pumpkins during sleep and telephone calls for improper reasons Even when attached to a Disturbance card. So enjoy and Close your door with the key 😂😂😂
This hotel had so many problems, first of all we reaches there at 8 a.m. my husband and I were both tiered so we just wanted to rest,we checked in and we understood that our room was not a room with king or queen bed instead it was twin. we told them and they said we will put them together we didn't want that they told us the hotel is full of you want a room with king bed you have to wait until 12 we agreed we went out when we came back they give us a room again it was not with king bed, it was just a trick they played with us they gave put twin beds next to each other, the room smelled so bad, again my husband asked them to change it they didn't the staff were not helpful at all, our room had inside hotel view which was awful again it was dark and noisy, ventilation was another problem, bathroom was the worst part, after taking shower we had to pass a lake of water which was made by splash of water, so never felt that we are clean after taking shower, one day they during eating breakfast they asked us if we had a problem we told them they said we will change your room guess what it didn't happen at all, breakfast variety was not that much bad but boring after tow days, room service staff English speaking and understanding was awful, you were killed to tell them what you need, hotel location is great the only could appreciate, where you eat breakfast has a nice view of city but remember you can't have a view like this in your room. Our experience was unforgettable in its worst way.
this was my 4th visit to Istanbul but I only had 1 night and 2 days to introduce this fabulous city to a travelling companion.i needed a central hotel close to all the tourist spots and the Legacy Ottoman proved the perfect choice.the hotel itself was the epitome of old world charm with a large foyer and marble everywhere.the rooms were large ,spacious and luxurious with most amenites to ensure a comfortable stay. the marbled bathroom was appreciated by the wife, whose only complaint was the absence of a coffee maker.fluffy gowns, slippers, toiletries were all standard.the breakfast restaurant had a great spread and our breakfast table next to a window gave us a fantastic view of the bophorous.the friendly reception staff were extremely knowledgable in assisting us to get through a packed itinery and provided a great concierge service for airport transfers and other bookings. a 10 miute walk brought us to the Topkapi palace and museum, followed by a short walk to Haga Sophia, the blue mosque across the Hippodrome to the grand bazaar through the spice market and around the new mosque followed by a 100metre walk out of the bustle to the quiet oasis that is hamediya street and the imperial façade of the legacy ottoman beckons.the adjoining coffee shop serves excellent fare.a 2 minute walk from the hotel brings you to the world renowned Hajee MUSTAPHA COFFEE SHOP and baklava and Turkish delight to rival the best and opposite is the Sirkeci station where nightly Whirling DERVISH shows are held.in summary a great hotel in a great location.
