Very friendly & helpful staff, elegant hotel and royal. Food are good, services done fast, very good location. Close to tram, metro & easy access to taxis. Nice phone manners. Clean, restaurant is vast & brighten, variety of food. I recommend it to all.
Firstly I must say indeed this isn’t the Four Seasons (read another review below mine)- but then again you are paying 20% of a night in the four seasons in a property that I rate as being pretty good. The location is excellent- a stones throw away from the Galata Bridge, Grand Bazaar and the Sultanahmet attractions. The view from the breakfast room is oh so wonderful and often you have the company of seagulls perched on the ledge . The food (help yourself) is the best spread I have had for breakfast at any hotel over the last year- yes I am the guy who spends 340 nights a year in hotels The rooms are big and in good condition. Bathrooms refurbished. On the street side it’s also very light. I believe you should request a room with a view not one looking into the atrium. I could understand they are probably dark. Overall I would also recommend rate this a 4.5 except the gym is disappointing. This area needs work. Otherwise well done to the team here. It’s not easy to maintain a 100 year old property
DON’T BOOK THIS HOTEL !!!! Don’t get fooled by its 5 stars or by its nice clean lobby, it’s not worth not even 3 stars. It’s the DIRTIEST, VOMITING hotel I have ever seen in my whole life. Made me vomit, everything made me sick (towels, sheets, carpet, bad smell). You can clearly see everything is DIRTY. Never changed the sheets in 6 days. The windows are old, there is a lot of noise and light gets inside at 6 am. It’s right next to the dirty crowded Grand Bazar, avoid this area and this hotel!!! Arabic style and only arab people their customers. Breakfast is very bad, nothing to eat and besides that they charge you 18 turkish liras if you make a fresh juice... of lemons right next to the buffet. Because there are not even oranges. We stayed for 7 nights and paid everything the first night without seeing the room, trusting the rooms would be as nice as the lobby. The next day we asked for the rest of the money saying we wanted to leave because were not comfortable and couldn’t sleep all night and they gave us nothing. Only changed to a superior DIRTY room. I feel like I’ve been stolen. The front desk MANAGER very RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL, HORRENDOUS, HATEFUL character, with bad attitude, treating with superiority and lack of interest for his customers problems. Looks like he hates his customers and job. He made my experience very unpleasant and showed me the difference between his third-world mentality and way of living and the world I come from. So disappointing!! AVOID THIS SOAKED IN DIRT HOTEL AND DON’T THROW AWAY YOUR MONEY STAYING HERE!!!
The hotel is amazing and beautiful history building. The reception staff is very well presented and helped us use our early check in request. The rooms are clean, beds are very comfortable. The breakfast was delicious on the top floor, with beautiful view over Bosphorus. It was one night stay, and we booked for less with great last minute discount, and the hotel is on amazing location just next to Grand Bazaar and there is very close tram station. 10 min walk to Sultan Ahmed square and mosques.
After a lot of research my friend and I booked Legacy Ottoman for 4 nights. The staff is very accommodating and hospitable. Ozzy at the front desk was extremely kind and helpful. We wanted to upgrade our room and he managed that in minutes. Also recommended activities around the city. All other staff were amazing and very friendly. The restaurant/lounge on the 6th has the most spectacular view! However the cleanliness of the bathrooms was below the standard of any five star hotel. The bidets' angle were off and the water would leak from the seat so we never used them. Mold were growing in the shower area and there were fruit flies and other flies in the room. Other than that our stay was very comfortable and would definitely stay here again!
This was the worst hotel experience I've ever had in my life! We traveled as a family of three and were all shocked at the substandard conditions of the two rooms we were assigned (not to mention they were on different floors!) This is not even a two-star hotel. Layers of dust covered the phone, decorative bedspreads and furniture. Both rooms smelled very heavily of sewage (a smell which persisted, even after hotel staff attempted to mask it with a chemical grade room deodorant). There was improper ventilation, particularly as the rooms were 'atrium' facing, meaning the lobby. For somebody who needs natural air and light, this felt like being thrown in the dungeons. Bathrooms had black mold all around the tub, sink and walls, and hair in the bathtubs. The sink basins were not clean, nor were the counters. The - once white - towels were now of a dubious yellow and had a musty smell-- so strong that we resolved to go out and buy our own. Shower fixtures were dilapidated and leaking. The worst surprise came when it was time for bed. At night, my daughter woke up itchy and covered in some kind of unidentifiable bite from a bug that came from the covers. My husband had a similar experience. Need I say more? I took pictures of everything and management did not seem to be shocked when I showed them. They did, however, apologize and tried hard to convince us to give them another chance, so we were upgraded to clean(er) rooms with natural light for the rest of our stay. While we appreciated the management's genuine efforts, we could never feel truly comfortable there after the first night experience. We stayed because we had purchased a flight+ hotel package and knew we would not be able to easily get a refund and find a new place to stay. In short, I would never recommend this hotel, but I wish the staff members and management of the hotel best of luck.
Absolutely no 5 star hotel!! the rooms are very ugly and small. you have a grid in your room that gives acces to the shower of ze person in the other room next to you. You can hear them sneeze, shower, walk and fart. YOU CAN HEAR EVERYTHING! Its pictured as a very expensive and luxury hotel but in reality you can compare it with a hostel. Very bad hotel, never again!!
The hotel is definitely not a five stars hotel. Old carpets, broken chair in our room, nothing looks nostalgic but very old. A dirty bed was left behind on our floor the entire day until I asked the reception to remove it. The pool is too cold and not very clean. The spa Guy a bit pushy to sell massage. Not really feeling like to us the spa area. The location is great and the staff nice but the hotel is over rated and can be down rated to 3 stars. Not recommended.
It is amazing how the star system works, or doesn't. Having high expectations about this property, we were, mildly putting it disappointed. While enjoying a fantastic location, within walking distance from the major attraction in Istanbul and a beautiful property, this hotel needs a major clean up. We were checked in in rooms that weren't even vacuumed and bathrooms that need it a thorough clean up. Plus, a smell that will tell you unpleasant stories. We wanted to leave the next day but the reception crew was very receptive and moved us to different quarters and that changed the outcome. The room were cleaned every day and we stayed for the reminder of the trip. The roof restaurant serves a very nice breakfast, and it will be so helpful if the majority 0f the staff will speak some English. Do not expect a Four Season treatments from a place that have seen better days!
We found the hotel probably the best in that area! The hotel is huge!!! The location was great, close to the historical places, amazing restaurants, Eminonu station, Galata bridge (all in walking distance). Service was great, staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was marvelous! We enjoyed every single minute of staying in this hotel.
