the hotel is not clean! there was no AC or electricity for the first 2 days of our stay until we decided to leave to another hotel. toilets are very tiny and they don't have any type or service. I asked for a room in first floor and they gave us a room on the third floor. breakfast quality is bad. it was an overall very bad experience in Istanbul and I fly there regularly.

Nice friendly staff, family like hotel that feels like a home. basic breakfast. Excellent location. we walked to and from several attractions including the blue mosque and local markets. Busy street with lots of shops. Saves a lot of taxi fares. We had a pleasant stay. It's nothing fancy but all you need is a comfortable night sleep and nice breakfast before you set off on the streets to explore Istanbul. It's basically an affordable and comfortable bread and breakfast.

This hotel is just one minute away from the tram staion it is ideal if you come from the Airport and other sights. Facilities are clean and comfortable . Exterior is Clasical ottoman House . Staff was helpful and willing to assist you .

The hotel location is excellent. It's very close to the Blue Mosque and the tram stop just a minute away which can take you to many other places. Staff were very nice and helpful when we checked in and out. However, the hotel cannot be a 4 stars as advertised. It's hardly 2-3 stars. Room was spacious and was reasonably kept clean. To be fair, most of hotels in sultanahmet area are around the same. They are very small and got no facilities assuming guests are using it to sleep.

It is an old hotel that lacks standards. it is very hard to reach the hotel for the first time as you have to walk to reach it. the staff are very cooperative and friendly but the hotel needs to be renovated as everything is old and rooms are not clean. - the garden looks like anything except the garden, empty water gallons are placed beside you, and you can notice the hanged garments on the wire. - although there is a safe box in the room but it is out of service and no replacement your belongings must be placed at the front desk safe - no ice as there is no ice machine - the breakfast is very poor. - Mini Bar was not replenished through out our stay

We were sitting at the tram station searching for a hotel and it happened to be a block away so we decided to walk over. When we arrived he wanted to charge us $30 more than what was offered online so we said we would prefer to book online so that we earned points. He then offered the room to us for 1$ less than online. When we were paying, he over charged us, and when we calculated the exchange it was for the original price of $30 dollars more. We went back downstairs and I stated that it was unfair as now we have paid $30 dollars more, and we did not collect our points. He LAUGHED IN MY FACE and wouldn't honour the agreement. The towels were old fraying and yellow, the stairs were dangerous, there was a hole in the wall and there was a soft spot in the floor that felt like you were going to fall through. It was very noisy and we could hear the people next door word for word. The key card did not work the first time nor the second, and we had to go get a key in the end. Also, the breakfast was mediocre. We have been traveling for three weeks and by far this was the rudest person we have come across. Do not stay here, there are plenty off nice hotels within the few blocks of this area that I am sure will treat you nicer.

The hotel is old and lot of improvements needed to get at least 2 stars. Towels, sheets, etc left on stairways, floor everywhere. Keycard would not work so had to use traditional keys. Basin tap half broken, etc I use blacklight torch to inspect cleaniness - room is spoltless. Staff are friendly and care for you - this make the staying somewhat acceptable. Only mgr knows english, use google translator if you wish to comm with others. Not bad place for a budget.. go elsewhere if u like better class.

Stayed at this hotel for two nights. The shuttle transfer from the secondary airport ( Sabiha Gocken) had no trouble finding it and dropped me of about 100 metres away on a side street but as suggested by other reviewers it probably is a good idea to have a detailed street map should you be coming by taxi or public transport especially if after dark. The hotel room was clean and whilst the room did have some minor cosmetic defects (wallpaper, little mould in shower and part of skirting board damaged) given the age of a lot of the buildings that older hotels occupy this appears to be normal for these smaller hotels. The shower I had in my room is probably not suitable for older persons as you have to step up get in and down to get out. The towels could have been of better quality. The bathroom had a hairdryer and other items (sewing kit, shower cap etc) The room had a single and double bed so there would not be a lot of room for 2 or 3 people staying in the one room. The room had a fridge and tea and coffee making facilities and air conditioner. There was no safe in the room. I would have to agree with some of the other reports regarding the stairway to the floors being dimly lit ,the laundry bag always appeared to be in the hallway and the smell of smoke in parts of the hallway and stairs. The lift is very small but operated well whilst I stayed at the Hotel. The free wi-fi worked in the room and inside breakfast area. The breakfast area is off the reception area and had only one table and chair within the room the other tables and chairs are in the same small area as the reception desk. The breakfast had selection of cereal coffee and tea, orange juice mix, apples, bread, honey, hazelnut spread and meat, tomato, cheeses. I booked the hotel at a reduced rate and was happy with what the hotel provided at that price but would consider other 4 star chain hotels in the area if paying full price. The hotel is near the corner of the street that is the main tram thoroughfare so transport is easy or again it is within walking distance to a lot of the tourist sites in the Sultanahmet and surrounding areas. Only some of the staff spoke Enlish but I found the staff to be helpful all the same. Would probably suggest this is more 3 - 3.5 star hotel based on the room I stayed in and not an Special Class Boutique Hotel as indicated on the Hotels own website or 4 star as indicated on the site I booked through as a mystery hotel.

I enjoyed my recent 2 night stay at this hotel. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. They were happy to provide a travel power adaptor on request and I loved the green olives and cheese at breakfast. Location is fantastic, right beside tram stop.

Through a combo holiday package offered by Qatar Airways (which gave awesome value for money deal), Hotel New House as the provided accommodation was a strategically placed yet cozy lodge for be it a couple or family of 4.
