I stayed here for the third time recently, the last time being 7 years ago. We arrived at dawn in Istanbul and used the Hotel arranged taxi to get into the City. On arrival we were clearly too early for our room reservation (1400) but staff allowed us to book in by 9AM which was great because we were whacked. The Hotel is a budget hotel but that shouldn't put you off. Ok, aspects are a little tired - such as the bathroom facilities which could do with an upgrade. But by and large the Hotel is really tidy and clean. The staff are formal but sincerely helpful and the rooms and dated but comfortable and clean. Breakfast was a pleasant surprise - generous portions and varied foods on offer. So - this is a well located hotel in the middle of the old town, Its five minutes walk from the Galatea Bridge and ten minutes walk from the Blue Mosque. I would definitely stay here again - its great value.
We arrived in Istanbul (family of 5) early morning. Pre booked Transport was waiting for us. It took 1hr from Sabiha Gokcen airport to arrive at the hotel in Sirkeci. Nice facade of the hotel. Very narrow streets all around with plenty of restaurants. The hotel lobby is beautiful and well designed. Wi-Fi available. The rooms were not satisfactory for a 4 star hotel. The superior double room we stayed in had plenty of space but the furniture were dated. The sink in the bathroom Room 201 was misaligned. The fridge stopped working in room 201 and 210. We had to wait 2 days before it was repaired. Room 210 is a triple room and again this was quite dated and did not feel like a 4 star environment at all. There was no mini bar just an empty fridge. Brkfst was not bad but it's a bit repetitive after 3 days. The website advertise breakfast with a view of the Bhosphorus however this was not the case as breakfast was in the basement (which was clean and well decorated). Breakfast staff were very helpful and polite. Cleaning of rooms was ok but not done daily. All tv channels are in turkish and there is no options for subtitles or change of languages. Tv remote was not functioning at all times. Despite its low standard as a 4 star hotel, the location was very good as we could walk to the nearest tram station within 4 mins. Its quite centeal to reach the spice market and the river to take the ferry to the Asian side of Istanbul. Plenty of shopping all around and within walking distance. 24 yrs ago - I remember the lobby atmosphere quite lively as there was a coffee bar there. This is no longer functioning. The hotel should be a good standard 3 star instead of a low standard 4 star.
1- staff behavior was BAD. 2- room lighting was very dark. 3- breakfast was cheap and tableware was very dirty. 4- internet was very low speed. 5- room wasn't sound proof. 6- restauran for breakfast wasn't in top floor. *I cant sleep one night and going to lobby and reading news from my mobile after several minutes reception staff turn off all lights which existing in lobby!!! If I want score to this hotel, give it one or upper hand two star
hotel is falsely advertised, nothing they advertised was there no terrace restaurant rooms are tiny no water dusty and broken beds and furniture the mini fridge was empty and broken and the showers have no curtain or door so water spills everwhere and then they expect you not to waste towels. staff were annoyed because we wanted to change rooms because the first room was dirty with dirty towels and bedsheets. breakfast was terrible. luckily we were sightseeing all day and night so didn't spend much time there but I would never go back to this hotel. I would say the location is good but there so many other hotels in that area that looked so much better and I regret going for this one.
The hotel is well located, close to restaurants and to Istanbul's main sights. At arrival we were given a room which was in an annex building for which the door was always open facing the street. There is no security measure to control who enters the building whatsoever. The room was incredibly small, not more than 8m2 and we complained to the travel agency who contacted the hotel. We were given a bigger room, but still in the same building. When addressing the staff about what to see and how to get around the city, one of the receptionists was incredibly rude to my wife, to a point I thought that under different circumstances, a fight might had broken off. I would never return to this hotel. I don't care how cheap it may be, but there's no service, no security and no quality in it.
Bad small room dirty room all broke doors handles TV not working minibar drinks out of date old rooms dirty toilet flushing not working properly staff unhelpful breakfast chese tomota cucumber is Like 2 weeks old
We; my dad, my sister and I; recently stayed here. We wanted a triple room because we all needed our own beds. Our first night in our triple room was hell - the air con didn't work, and we boiled the whole night. Not to mention there was a huge party happening on the top floor in the old restaurant !!!! So loud we couldn't sleep. They stopped the event once we complained at 11:30pm.. The next day we were moved, thankfully, to a different room - a double with a room attached with another single. Aircon worked fine in there and thus we began our week stay. The breakfast was very Turkish, probably not good if you have young (western) kids as there is not many "western" options (I had the same bland chocolate cereal every day because the salad-type food doesn't appeal to me). The staff were accommodating, and helped us set up day tours which we really enjoyed. The restaurant on the top floor is not currently in operation (perhaps due to the lack of tourists this year?) but there are a number of decent restaurants nearby. This place is ace for location, really can't get a better location for seeing the sights. Overall we had a decent stay, but I wasn't overly impressed.
We are currently in one of doublerooms. We have visited Istanbul many times but I have never seen such an awful 4-stars hotel. This is a one or max. 2 stars hotel so dont waste your money here. Available photos on Internet are from superior rooms. Our double room is situated on the fifth floor and is about 10 m2 large with a mini shower and wardrobe. Fridge is empty, tv old and bed for 2 persons is just 140 cm wide. The room looks a room for personnel to rest. I will post more info and photos here later to make people aware of reality.
