Didn’t like this hotel, no kettle in the room! Breakfast very poor, must pay extra charge for requested omelette! The air conditioner is central u cant change it from hot to cool! Some of the staff are not friendly but like to thank Mr. kenan for his help and for solving our problem on our last day!
Istanbul is a big city with many hotels which areclose to each one of us. It is enough to know thegood hotels which are appropriate for yourmeans. The Darkhill is good choise. Its site is very well located, near as of historic sites, the such Grand Bazaar, sultanahmet,Kapali Carsi, Hagia Sophia and much of otherattractions: shops in all kinds and of the multiplevery varied restaurants. The hotel has aswimming pool, sauna and hammam and a great restaurant with the terrace with beautiful views on the city and the sea. The staff ofrooms is completely nice and understanding. Hefacilitates the maximum to you your choice andyour desires. Thank you with all the team. Regards. Noureddine R.
it is a good location if you would like to be close to the stores and the famous bazar but the services are not so good as expected. the personal should be more flexible giving that the price it is above average and the customers are mainly europeans. the breakfast it is good and you can choose from a variety of dishes, also having a good view to the seaside.
good place ,food the best , clean , nice personnel service , the restaurant on the top roof with glass that has view of sea and pool around it very authentic experience so romantic when its rainy day recommended
good hotel clean - the room size is good - the food is tastey but no more options and all days the same kind , in the total is good and have nice swimming pool and sauna for free. I stayed at darkhill on my own for 6 nights and was put in a lovely double room. Staff were helpful and friendly. Th room was nice, some Street noise but I live in a city so it didn't bother me at all.
Disappointed by what appears to be a modern hotel that falls short of expectation. While the roof deck, lobby and room is nice, and the staff tries to be friendly; it fell short when it came to things like: 1. Asked about a hot jacuzzi then finding out it is only a very cold jacuzzi. 2. A room that smelled musty/dank. 3. Being asked to pay $5 USD for a piece of plastic to cover your hair just to sit in the cold jacuzzi. 4. Being denied a request for a corkscrew or for a small iron to remove a wrinkle. 5. Poor quality Wi-Fi in restaurant and room. Multiple dropped calls. 6. When I tried (within 2 hours of check-in on the first day) to cancel my 2nd day stay, the front desk told me with confidence that I just needed to contact Orbitz. I did so, after spending a frustrating hour on the phone with Orbitz (dropped calls on poor quality hotel Wi-Fi). I was later told by Orbitz and then later by the front desk that it was the hotel (only) that refused to cancel my stay (I paid the hotel directly). When I e-mailed hotel management they told me to speak to a front desk manager in the morning. None was available around 10 AM. So they refused to allow me to stay only one day instead of two days and tried to falsely blame Orbitz. 7. The quality of the breakfast was "ok" and far short of the Marmara Hotel, for example. All of these issues have been inconsistent with many great hotels in this great country. On the positive side, the roof deck offers great views of the waterfront and the room is well designed. The lobby was also very pleasant. Perhaps new management/ownership can remedy the situation and bring in more visitors to what should otherwise be a great hotel. Please note, I'm not that picky. I've stayed in hostels and luxury hotels while riding a motorcycle around Turkey. This was my only negative stay.
Clean, quiet, located in a beautiful area very close to the tram station Laleli. the rooms are small, safety box in the rooms. a beautiful roof view. The breakfast is good but almost same everyday. Free WIFI. A pool on the roof without using I don't know why and another small pool underground with cold water unfortunately one of the few hotels with pools in European Istanbul, if you come to Istanbul for pools I advice you the Asian side with less real estate density. Close to tourist places full of store. Beth and sauna are not bed, cold pool water. isn't worth the price you can find a less a price with 4 stars hotels. I don't appreciate the treatment of the staff with us in check out when they hide my luggage from me just because we have not paid in time the expensive pool cap (charge $ 5). they made me very angry, that wasn't nice and kind of them at all. but be sure we did not want to steal you, they not apologize. some of the staff were not friendly.
The hotel is very nice, very clean, spa with swimming pool free, the breakfast is nice in the roof restaurant, Mr youssef in the reception is very helpful and the stuff was very friendly Great value the location Is very good very near to station LEila in sultan Ahmed area
Room is very clean, staffs are friendly, good breakfast with a spectacular view from the roof bar, very affordable price for a 4 star hotel. Location is very close to tourists spots with access to trams and buses. The only negative point is that the bathroom is a little bit dark with lack of lighting.
After a 30 minute taxi ride (organised by the hotel for 25 Euro) battling the Istanbul traffic, we pulled off down some side streets to be dropped off at the small frontage of Darkhill. The front is nothing to comment on other than a VERY steep access ramp next to the steps which was somewhat challenging with a suitcase so lord alone knows what it would be like with a wheelchair. That said, the hotel staff swooped in to assist our party of three navigate into reception. Check in was very efficient and helpful. We were shown where everything we wanted to see was located (be warned if on a weekend visit, the Grand Bazaar is mostly closed on a Sunday) and after a bit of pushing were given a FREE map rather than the initially offered charged one. We were taken up to our rooms, which while small were perfect. Tastefully decorated, comfy beds and a bathroom room with a fabulous rain shower fully stocked with toiletries. We booked this hotel for the roof terrace bar/restaurant, it was lovely after a day of travelling to sit and watch the sun go down with a G & T listening to the call to prayer echoing around the city. A 10 minute walk sees you in the middle of it all. We found there was little need to use the Tram or the Metro, though we did end up walking over 10 miles on the Sunday so we didn't get to see everything that we could have if we travelled by public transport, but we did stumble into some amazing places when we got a bit lost. The hotel team a great and helped us to check in and print off our boarding cards for our internal flight to Bodrum on the Monday. We would not have been able to do this without their help, as it was it took half an hour and some phone calls to Turkish Airlines by the hotel team to sort it all out. The pool and Spa are great, though they do want you to wear a swimming hat which you buy for $5 unless you happen to have your own. This was a perfect hotel to explore Instanbul from, clean, a team that will go over and above to help and reasonably priced. You cant go wrong here.
