What a lovely stay!! I must start with the terrace view of the Blue Mosque. It’s perfection. The Hotel offers standard rooms and suites. I’d suggest a suite if you would like a bit more space. The suites are so spacious - the complimentary breakfast is wonderful and location could not be better 🖤 thank you all for making our stay special
V nice hotel with beautiful decor and furniture created a homely ambience for our 4 night stay in istanbul. Check in was v quick. We were in room 303 in the original part of hotel so had a lift to the floor. From there another flight of stairs took us to the terrace where we experienced spectacular views of the Bosphorus and new city beyond and the old city behind us. Room 303 was a delight. It was quiet and bed was comfortable. Bathroom has a full bath and marble sink. The hairdryer was not powerful enough to dry my long hair unfortunately. They don't have any others so i recommend you bring your own if you have long hair. The hotel is within a km of all the main sites- the blue mosque, Hagia Sophia and the Topkapi palace. Grand bazaar is a little further. We walked but you can get the T1 tram line to Baglicar from Sultanahmet (blue mosque area) and get off at Kapali carzi. We had a v pleasant wall along the river to Gulhane gardens (v pleasant meander in manicured gardens) watching the fishermen at work . Food was excellent throughout our stay and pretty reasonable. We were eating out for £20-£25 most nights. Highly recommend Duvares (where we had the most amazing new year's eve), Albora (where there is a hidden byzantine palace) and the Sabbahatein sea food restaurant a minute" s walk from the hotel. You must also try the buzzing Sehzade cag kebab cafe which is an Istanbul institution. It is in Sirkeci area (we walked but you can get T1 to kabatas getting off at sirkeci ). A cag is a kebab done on a horizontal spit. With lavash and side order of ezme and yoghurt u can eat out for abt 40TL! Btw do visit the lovely sweet and tea shop left and 1st right from hotel. Istanbul is a romantic and lively city. Definitely coming bk in summer and staying at the Sari Konak.
The hotel was extremely great! With its uniquely decorated guest rooms and splendid ambiance. The staffs were really friendly and helpful specially those at the front desk, they were all welcoming. The entire hotel was definitely clean and peaceful. All the rooms were all equipped and comfortable. You will absolutely have a marvelous stay with this hotel!
The location is great but I couldn’t sleep bcz of the curtains and there were no lifts were I had to carry my baggages plus the housekeeping services is so poor they even left the trush under the sink didn’t bother to take all they did is making the bed room was still a mess and dirty. There r many better hotels in the same area for me never again.
I booked this hotel directly for a stopover in July. I also arranged my airport/hotel transfers with them ...which went perfectly. This hotel is in a great location just behind the Blue Mosque/Arasta Bazaar and within walking distance to all the old town sights. The staff are great, I arrived early and was able to check in straight away, which was much appreciated. Great breakfast on a lovely rooftop terrace. Room was well appointed and very clean. Would be happy to stay again.
The location of hotel is perfect. Breakfast here is so good. The room is bit small but cozy. There are many shops & restaurants & easy to access travel spot such as haiga sophia & blue mosque. Staffs are here friendly & helpful. But only negative side of hotel was poor wifi on 2nd floor. I stayed room number 206. My 2nights staying in hotel I never succeeded to connect internet. I asked different staffs they already known about the issue but couldn't solve.
Torn between booking a regular hotel and a boutique hotel, we chose Sari Konak for the kids to experience something different. We had booked a triple room (travelling with kids) and asked if we could upgrade. We were given a suite (502) which was a wonderful complimentary upgrade. Pros -The suite has a small entrance with 3 doors leading to a master bedroom, a room with twin beds and a bathroom. Although the rooms are small, they are comfortable and privacy was a added plus. Comfortable and newish furniture, laminated floors, good quality linen and towels and a pleasing color scheme. -The bathroom is updated, modern and very clean with a hot shower. (If you don't find toiletries, look in the drawer under the sink) -Suite is 3-4ft above ground level at the front of the hotel. We didn't have any noise issues. -Location is terrific!!! Everything is a 2-3 min walk. Arasta Bazaar is just up the road. Night time the surrounding street look wonderfully festive with the road side restaurants. - The management is very helpful and friendly. Cons- -The breakfast was really disappointing. No hot breakfast/eggs or borak. Cold hard boiled eggs, unappetizing cold meat cuts, and simit was cut into bite size pieces in a basket. The kids just had cereal and we had coffee with bread and cream cheese. For such a wonderful place and such a wonderful breakfast place on the roof they should really improve the quality of breakfast. -The housekeeping is a bit slow. 3rd day we returned at 3:30 pm (having left at 10:30am) and the housekeeping was only going to start our room but we were tired and just had the bathroom done. So if you plan to pop back in for a break, request an early clean up, I'm sure they will oblige. If breakfast is not such a big deal for you, then I highly recommend this place for its modern bathroom, cleanliness and location! Ladies heads up, the bedroom mirror is more of a feature as its tinted; so take along a mirror for makeup or use the one in the bathroom.
After 6 night, 5 rooms with my family. The hotel is near to blue mosque and aya Sophia and other museums. the hotel is mostly basic good for low budget couples but for sure they have bigger rooms. the breakfast should be upgraded it's the same daily. the staff is great helping all time with different stuff especially Mustafa my advice: don't choose the standard room, you can't move inside. be aware of fraud resturants in sultanhmet especially the one with no writing on it.
Modest room, excellent value, excellent location, the most helpful and efficient desk clerk imaginable.we named him TopGun, since we could not quite catch his Turkish name) Nice roof garden with a great view, very good breakfast.Walking distance to many top spots such as Haig Sofia. We would seek this small boutique hotel out again and recommend it without hesitation, most especially for the terrific price and attentive service.
Charming hotel perfectly located within a 5 minute walk of the Blue Mosque and the Hagia Sophia. The rooftop terrace was not technically open for service when we were there (end of March), however we were free to go up there with our own bottle of wine and enjoy the views of the Bosphorus, Golden Horn and the domed roof and minarets of the Blue Mosque. It was a wonderful place to relax at the end of the day. Oktay and Sardar, the front desk people, were so helpful in arranging taxi transportation from and to the airport. Just email them ahead of your trip and they will make the arrangements (we flew into Ataturk and flew out of Sabiha Gokcen). When we arrived, Oktay arranged a guide to meet us at the hotel; he spoke English, was knowledgeable, navigated getting us tickets so we were able to see Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, the cistern, grand bazaar and spice bazaar in a very full afternoon/early evening (and we didn't feel cheated on time at any of the locations, although I could have stayed longer at the Blue Mosque). The room was small by American standards, but very comfortable with an ensuite bathroom. The breakfast was delicious with a wonderful assortment of fruit, eggs, cheese, salami, yogurt with fresh fruit sauces. Nurgul (my American computer doesn't have the phonetic markings) was the one who served breakfast so graciously and made sure we had plenty. The price included breakfast and was very reasonable. This hotel was recommended to us by a friend who has stayed there frequently and I have to say it did not disappoint; it was a jewel!
