The hotel is 180 degrees different from the pictures that you see, has very tight rooms, very small Tv with one channel, doesn't has good breakfast , doesn't worthless the money that you pay. Presonal I won't stay in it again .
I was very pleased with my seven night stay at Hotel Sari Konak. I was traveling solo so I booked the cheapest room available. I stayed in room 102, although a little small, it had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. It was very clean, had a room safe, nice bathroom and windows that opened to the cobblestone street below. The staff was friendly and very helpful, answering questions, offering good advice, and arranging tours and airport transportation. The included breakfast was very good, I left full every morning. I looked forward to Nurgul's genuine smile every morning! The location was great! The hotel and surrounding area was clean and felt very safe. There are many restaurants, shops and convenient stores near the hotel It is a very short walk to the Blue Mosque and hippodrome, Hagia Sofhia, Topkapi Palace, and the Basilica Cistern. The Grand Bazaar, Spice Market and Galata Bridge where easy walks. This is a perfect choice for a budget hotel in a great location. When I return, I will be staying here again.
This is really an exception hotel, beautifully restored with great service and a great breakfast. The location is ideal. All in all a very pleasant experience.
We stayed four nights at the Sari Konak. The staff are very helpful and the hotel has a lovely rooftop terrace for breakfast and evening views of the Blue Mosque and Bosphorous. Close proximity to sights in Sultanamet and easy walks to the tram and the major sights in the Old City all work in the hotel's favor. The beds were pleasantly firm and the sheets were good, while the towels were not so good and the hairdryer barely worked, but the housekeeping seemed fine. We upgraded to a superior room on the advice of friends who had booked a regular room earlier in the year and upgraded when they arrived. When the clerk checked the booking upon our arrival, he mentioned that we had booked on this website and he changed the room assignment. The "superior" room we were then given was on street-level on the busy street. The room was small, very noisy, and dormitory-like. The desk clerk went out of his way to assure us that although he had moved us, this was a "superior room." The hotel had a computer for guest use which was convenient for checking into our flight home. We had gotten the room on an a promotion on this website, but had we paid full price, we would probably not recommend this hotel for more than a one or two-night quick layover in Istanbul. The Old Town is not the best place for evening entertainment or a choice of good restaurants. With several cheap youth hostels very nearby, the general touristy feel of the immediate neighborhood got old after a day or two.
