this hotel is all scammed, booked three rooms but they gave us 4 rooms at higher price - even though had confirmation. booked from their official website for triple rooms but they gave us four rooms at a higher price, even though i had the confirmation. booked a boat trip from reception for 360 euro but the bus came 55 minutes late and the boat excursion was the worst - the boat was so crowded, hot and no air to breathe, and outside was cold to sit as well. THE CHECK IN TOOK OVER 40 MINUTES!! AND NO ONE OFFERED US EVEN A WATER WHILE WAITING. WE HAVE DIRTY ROOMS - THE BEDS SHEETS WERE NOT CLEANED FOR WEEKS, SMELLED NASTY AND HAD CIGARETTE HOLES, NO VENTILATION IN THE BATHROOM AND THE ROOM, COCKROACHES, CONSUMING CHECK IN, DO NOT CHOOSE OFFERED EXCURSIONS TO BOSPHOR OR THE CITY CUZ THEY ARE ALL SCAM - THE RECEPTION IS SCAMED, THE TRANSFERS ARE SCAM AND EVERY PERSONEL WERE RUDE WHEN WERE ASKED FOR HELP.

the location of the hotel is very good, close to shopping centers and tram station was nearby. the service was good, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the food was tasty. It was a short trip. we stayed for 4 days, but we enjoyed every minute of it and had everything which is expected from a 4-star hotel

Lobby dark but entrance clean and near the metro stations,Easy to find ,just off the main street.I dissagree with the 4 star rating because the rooms are not as big and the furnishings and bedding very old and dated,Our bedding had a tear in the linen and the kettle was dirty. The refrigerator had a big block of ice and did not keep the drinks cold .stayed at the hotel on 2 separate occasion in the same month and the wifi on the 7th floor is excellent but on the 4th is non existant.breakfast was ok ,consists mainly of different cheeses, breads and olives

We booked for 6 nights and settled the payment during check in but we were surprised on the 6th night (upon returning late from our Pamukkale day tour) we were told that we overstayed and have to pay extra night. I showed the reception our booking confirmation ( that clearly states we booked for 6 nights but was not honored, tried to calmly explain and ask him what happened but all we got from him was "No you have to pay" in a rude manner. Told him this ruins our experience and he said rudely " Then don't come back here". At the end we paid for the "extta day". Hope the hotel can educate their staff a little manners ;)

The location of the Hotel is very good, close to everything, they were overbooked, (something went wrong with their booking system) so a part of our group had to shift to another hotel, they gave us a room supposedly at the last floor, turned out that the lifts do not reach that floor so we had to use the stairs with the luggage to reach, the room was supposed to be non smoking, yet the smoke smell was everywhere, the ceiling was so low, and the walls are not sound proof, we could clearly enjoy our next room neighbors enjoying their valentine eve :P February 2014

Decided to visit Istanbul for a short break, and booked the Carlton hotel last minute. On reading reviews I was slightly worried!! Carlton Hotel was perfect for me decently priced. It was quite central and close to the metro line. Yes the reception is very dark. The rooms are not very modern but the hotel was clean and the bed was very comfortable. I didn't spend a lot of time In the room due to visiting friends and the sites. The cleaner cleaned the room daily and changed the bedding and towels everyday. Breakfast was included in the price it wasn't too bad. All the staff members I came into contact with were very polite and helpful. I enjoyed my Stay and if I was looking to visit Istanbul on a budget getaway again I would definitely stay at The Carlton hotel.

Hotel entrance is kind of dark. It seems they light up specific parts of the entrance rather than all of it. Bathroom: Sink is fine yet I would say that about the shower box nor the bidet. Some of the wood in the bathroom has black spots and I am not sure if it is fungus or just the white color turned to black for some reason. Shower box is tide and it limits regular adult to move his/her limbs freely. Limited bathroom supplies are provided and it is less than what would you use usually. No toothpaste or toothbrush. Power sockets only support 220 volt no auto converter. Room: Room entrance is tide. Closet is O.K, plenty of cloth hangers and there is safety box. Limited power sockets, very small TV, dirty carpets yet it is O.K if you are crashing in for sleep after long day, not much of entertainment within the hotel. Breakfast is humble one yet there is vegetables, some fruits, bread and two hot plates.

Its beatifull hôtel the room is clean and small but its nice near to station metro and tramway and is its near to aya sofyan and bleu mosque . there is good man in the reception encan .مكان جميل و قريب الى المسجد الازرق و مسجد ايا صوفيا و هو قريب ايضا يوجد محالات بيع الملابس و قريب من الترمواي و الميتروا

A lot times went Istanbul. And last time was disappointed in my favourite hotel. This is was surprised and happy that I'm staying this hotel. Nice service from the beginning. I was so busy in the morning. So just left my language and went for my business. When I back check-in was just 5 minutes. And reception asked which room I like and do I want to drink something. Amazing. Next time I will choice Carlton again.

Dirty, small, and old rooms. The toilet is old as well. No tissue papers are provided in the room. The internet connection kerps on changing every now and then. The breakfast is poor. I recommend the owners to do some maintenance cause the location is great and quiet. The cafe "Ottoman" and the staff are very kind.
