Clean, well maintained, nice pool, beautiful beach

Quaint place to stay with a great view and great personal service

Very nice view, location was great quite. very pleasant staff.

Staff was very friendly, room was very clean, and the back door opened right onto the beach.

A real gem - older property but the rooms have been updated nicely and right on the beach. Staff all very friendly and the room was clean.

we loved the quiet oceanfront suites. Sitting on balcony watching the sunrise with a cup of coffee and hearing the waves. Nothing better

A great family owned location overlooking the beach with a small pool. Even though my room was mentioned as one with a beach overlooking, the reality was that we had a view of the beach and the room was not east facing and was a big disappointment. I request the management to be very clear about this when they advertise the room. Also the room has a coffee maker but there was no coffee, creamer or sugar. Such inconveniences have prompted me to give a rating of 3.

This was a delightful place to visit the beaches and Kennedy Space Centre

Clean but dated. Nice layout for family on budget. Great beach location. Nice little pool.

The staff was real friendly and the stay was very enjoyable . I will be using this resort anytime I come to Melbourne, Fla

Not super fancy high dollar. Up to date rooms, really clean, great staff, not a lot of traffic. Couldn't ask for anything more.

excellent, staff was helpful and very efficient. clean suites housekeeping very helpful and nice to the guests. i look forward to my next visit to tuckaways resort

First of all, the good:-Excellent, albeit a little small and often crowded, pool-Directly on the beach-On the edge of the main part of town, so less crowded-Staff was very friendly & willing to help, but unfortunately not very receptive/knowledgeable of online bookings or how they worked. Now the not so good [which is unfortunately much longer]:-Rooms not all equally updated...your experience may vary wildly from trip to trip, or even between you & another member of your party in a different room.-Parking lot is minuscule, and may not even have enough spots to accommodate the 1 vehicle per room policy-Every room is right on the pool. This can be obnoxiously loud if you were looking for some place secluded & quiet [an otherwise noteworthy feature of this particular establishment]-The "pool closes @ 9pm" policy appears to be loosely enforced at best, with lots of splashing around midnight on Friday.-Our room had a deadbolt that was rusted shut and perceivable there for show and to avoid having to replace the door. This would have been fine if the lock on the doorknob made more sense and was easier to use.-They state that "some rooms have 2 flat panel TVs". Ours did not, which is fine...my gripe is that the 1 TV it had was not in the same room as the bed.-Some rooms have very peculiar features that prove clumsy and/or hazardous...such as the brick entryway in my mother's room that dropped off 2-3 inches 2 feet into the room-The cabinets in my room looked to be handmade out of plywood & really just barely fit where they were installed, never mind opening/closing smoothly/quietly.-3 story building...with no elevator-The lone ice machine was outside...in Florida...so it was only capable of producing a bucket or so of dripping wet ice every 5-10 minutes-The windows [including the front one in the bedroom facing the pool/courtyard] had no curtains...only some poorly fit vertical blinds that didn't shut well enough to keep light out, or keep people from being able to see in. [Luckily I had some clothespins & a large beach towel for a DIY solution]Then there is the ongoing issue I am having with the discrepencies in terminology the hotel uses [...] [here's where the staff knowledge of online booking comes into play]. I booked "Ocean View" at a hotel who's own website claims to have 2 classes of room: "Ocean View" and "Partial Ocean View". Imagine my surprise when I am told that I in fact had a partial view room, and that what I should have booked was "Ocean Front". Equally amusing was that they had gone through and changed how it was displayed [...] shortly after I had booked to make more sense. They were fairly apologetic about it, and said they would have put me "Ocean Front" if they weren't booked to capacity, but the whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth, as I am a firm believer in either doing "online" properly or not doing it at all.All in all, it wasn't a terrible experience...just very underwhelming and a bit disappointed with the value of it all. EVERYTHING down there is beach front, so it's hardly a premium feature, and I feel that while the smaller secluded setting is certainly a bonus, there are likely much better choices for similar prices, especially if you like more modern amenities or are willing to pony up a few more dollars a night.
