Could not fault this hotel. Had the most relaxing holiday and the meal we had tonight at the all inclusive cliff restaurant was out of this world. Danny and his team looked after us so well. A new waitress who acted like she'd been here for years. Incredible food, great service! We will be back - again and again
I was hesitating for long to make a final choice of my stay in Ibiza, luckily I was correct. Airport transfer takes around one hour, I booked from shuttledirect, but I was the only passenger so it was a smooth trip to the hotel, cost only EUR15 per way. Having read so much negative and positive reviews, I would say this hotel is very good choice for single or couple as I was not on a family vacation. I was also worrying about the attitude of the staff, long waiting time of getting a drink - but all was not a problem at all. I stayed all inclusive, like other traveller mentioned, some international branded drinks are included, which is very good. You need to be aware the main bar offers more cocktails, the other bars only offers "Cocktail of the day" for all inclusive. Bracelet is your room key too (I like the way it avoid forgetting room key when going out), they will also verify the bracelet when you order anything from restaurant or bar. If you are not on all inclusive, I heard you will need some deposit in a prepaid card, and every time you will have to sign off. Here are some fact that come from my experience: 1. There are indeed lots of steps in the hotel, so be aware if you have mobility issue. Otherwise, I won't be an problem. 2. Rooms are allocated in different part of the hotel, try to request a room between 228 - 235. These are the rooms in main building together with reception and restaurant, but not directly underneath the restaurant. They are facing a loving adult-only pool, so it's both partially sea-view but very quiet rooms. Otherwise, you will have to carry your luggage walking through lots of steps.(These rooms are mainly twin-bed pushed together, not sure what other rooms look like) 3. Some staff does not smile, but that does not mean they are not sincerely serving you. Perhaps you show a bit of more smile and they will smile back to you too - You are on a holiday so make sure you have a good mood at all time. The senior guy at main bar is funny, and was really helpful. 4. Cliff bar and Sky bar does not open all the time, both bars are adult only, enjoyed the tranquillity and peaceful environment. View from the cliff bar was magnificent. It seems only one boy running between these two bars and serving drinks. He does not smile, but he is so keen to ask if you need another drink. I lost my earphone in the Sky bar, he kept in the drawer and return to me on the second day. BIG THANKS to him, forgot his name and forgot to tip him - sorry. 5. Food was buffet all three meals a day, they change some every time, but still can find my choice all the time. Suggest you order two drinks per time, just in case they are too busy to take the order, but I did not find it difficult at all. Breakfast is the best in all meals with free flow of cava. 6. Snack and salad bar was available between meals, and I only tried one time as I was so full by each meal. 7. Hotel has a very little private beach and I enjoyed very much. Water is crystal clear, you can see fish easily. Hotel provide free kayak for you, and you also can do snorkelling. A beach bar is attached to it, with different drinks provided. 8. I was offered a free dinner at the beach bar, but regretted not had tried that. You will need to book it 2 days in advance, I hope I can enjoy it next time. 9. There is a main pool but I did not spend any time there as I enjoyed the private beach too much. Every day I was shifting from beach, cliff bar, main bar and Sky terrace bar. 10. Wi-Fi is terrible, only available at slow speed near reception area. I did not bother to use the paid one either, only used my roaming during my stay. Recommendation: 1. Free Wi-Fi should be provided, this is already something as standard in many other tourist cities 2. More staff on bars, especially Sky Terrace and Cliff bar. It is not fair for one staff to run around each bar to fulfil so many request. 3. Cocktail quality should be improved - as mentioned in other reviews, it is so watered down. All in all, with the price I pay, I'm really happy with my stay, very nice location, quiet, beautiful sea view, staff really working hard to help (perhaps I'm the only Asian face during that days, so easy to remember my request), I've recommended to my friends, and I will definitely stay in this hotel when I'm back to Ibiza next time.
Stayed at the hotel for 11 days with 2 babies. The so-called Family rooms are verrryyyy small and with 2 baby beds, and 2 suitcases there is hardly any room to walk. Be prepared if this is what you want. I suggested to upgrade but no response from management ( yes Sir we have noted it and will get back to you..not..). So first of all we arrived early, room was not read, I understand this is common hotel policy but TUI travel agency promotes this place as family friendly, however waiting for 4 hours in the hotel lobby with 2 babies is NOT family friendly for your information. Room very small (disappointment) so we start of the holiday negative. Then took the kids to the small pool, giraffe was great, and good place to hang out with small children. Food / buffet style was good, so was the staff (very friendly OLA!). Then we walked over to the town with 2x baby buggy's, be prepared for inclines and steps.. Town is not much, just a nice walk. Shower area also small and already a bit aged. So all in all this is a nice hotel (3star +) and not the 4stars as often shown. Concluding: if your plan is to go on a relaxing holiday by the pool with a book and cocktail this is the perfect choice, with families I would reconsider. All in all with a family the price / value for money is not correct.
The Hotel BC Portinaxt was a very comfortable and relaxing place to stay while balancing the family / couple facilities. The hotel was perfectly located a small walk away from the main beaches of Portinaxt where we would take an afternoon stroll for some exercise or lunch. We would definitely recommend this hotel to our friends and family if they were looking to Ibiza for their vacation
Booked a week here through Jet 2 for myself and my daughter. Transfer time was less than an hour since we were on a minibus rather than a coach and there were fewer drop offs. Our room was cleaned on a daily basis and towels were also changed daily. The room was spacious and more than adequate for our needs. We had a ground floor room leading on to a grassy area where there were plenty of sun loungers, albeit of the fixed variety. We found the adult areas to be restful and at no time did we see any children in those areas. There may be an issue with the reserving of sun beds but there are many more basic sun loungers around, I think by providing some basic adjustable sun loungers this would most definitely help as we would have quite happily used the sun loungers on the grass if they had been adjustable. There is a small private beach where the water was pleasantly warm, clear and great for swimming. The cliff bar is very pleasant to sit around and is staffed between 11.00 am and 5.00pm, the barman here always asked if we wanted another drink before he closed up and was more than pleasant. The adult pool area does not have a bar but we found it no effort at all to walk up to the main family pool bar to get a drink and most times took drinks down with us so found this no issue at all. We were all inclusive and found the food in the restaurant to be excellent and there was a good variety. The staff in the restaurant work extremely hard and we found that tables were cleared and drinks were brought to our table promptly. On the morning of our departure we had a 07.55 pick up and had an early cold breakfast. The main bar seemed to be well staffed and again staff worked very hard and were certainly not rude as mentioned in some previous reviews The entertainment team work tirelessly as do all the staff from cleaners to reception and front of house staff. We felt very relaxed after our week here which was just what we needed, would most definitely like to return and would recommend this hotel to friends and family.
What could be a very very nice hotel in a beautiful location is let down by poor staff, a rude, unhelpful, ignorant manager and quite frankly a disgraceful tour operator in Jet2. On arrival we were taken to our room to find we didn’t have the double bed we have previously booked in advance. Upon questioning the manager we were quickly dismissed as he laid the blame with Jet2. And then left to pay 245 euros to upgrade to a double bed. None of the terrace or roof top bars are ever tended so it’s difficult to get a drink other than the child friendly pool. Children are allowed into the adult areas as there are no staff to stop this. The hotel staff are pretty much careless and were the ignorant I have ever come across. My biggest criticism comes on behalf of Jet2 as they don’t state any of the additional charges on their booking website and it’s all hidden away. After waiting for 8 weeks after our holiday we finally had a reply from Jet2 which basically blamed the hotel when the hotel blamed them. All in all a very unpleasant experience for an expensive holiday. I would personally look elsewhere as there are a few nicer hotels in the area.
Excellent for families I'd recommend and return. Only issue is transfer time from Airport. Stunning setting. Very relaxing but make the most of water activities and mountain bikes. Excellent choice of food. Friendly helpful staff. Large but layout excellent so doesn't seem too busy although it was busy at times.
A compact pretty hotel. Holiday company 4* rating but not compared to large recognised hotel chains. Staff on front desk lovely friendly and really helpful. Restaurant staff worked tirelessly and we're always welcoming and friendly too. Good selection of fresh produce daily and plenty on offer. No complaints about the food but I was there for just 6 days so may have become repetitive but compared to other all inclusive good selection and standard. In addition there was a restaurant down the cliff path near the beach if you want yo get away from mass feeding. Facilities reasonably good. Cycles for hire, tennis courts a good entertainment team which put on a different themed evening which was very enjoyable. Variety of keep fit activities supported by team and a small but adequate gym. One issue is the pool area, small and not enough sunbeds. Some arguments about this which isn't what you want on holiday. There are no life guards which surprised me as its full of families! A way to manage the chaos about beds around the pool would be to staff the area which would increase safety, and the towels could be managed from here rather than clogging up reception. On the whole the hotel was clean but my room was very sandy so I don't think it was ever swept. No change of sheets whilst I was there either. A bit if a lick and a promise clean I felt. Having said all of this knowing the negatives I would still return but with adjusted expectations.
Beautiful place! Bar staff at pool bar slow and miserable. ( Juan was by far the best). Not for those with poor mobility, there are lots of steps everywhere you want to go. Pool not large enough and not enough sun beds. Adult only areas poorly staffed. Reception staff where very very helpful and efficient! Cleaning staff very friendly! Entertainment was poor and kids club was useless , very amateur and didn't instill confidence. The food was of a good variety and standard however needed to be hotter.
This was my second stay at "Portitatx Beach Club". I stayed last May when the hotel had just opened following a refurb. All of the small gripes such as slow service seem much better. The hotel has made lots of improvements since then and seem to be making an effort. Having read some review, I was a bit concerned. Things like cold food and bad service seemed to be popular themes on here. From my perspective the food was fine, plentiful and tasty. Good choice of alcohol for an all inclusive, which includes good quality international brands. The service seemed much better & the staff were friendly. All in all, a great holiday.
