Great hotel been here twice. Food great, fab selection and variety each day. Rooms very clean and friendly staff. Beautiful location and scenery. Good selection of drinks and cocktails available all inclusive. Portinatx is quiet but good bus links. Hotel and beach attached not recommended for those with walking difficulties, a lot of steps, split levels.
Well worth the 40 minute journey from the airport with a friendly chatty transfere coach driver. On arrival you do have to take your luggage down a slope to get to the entrance of the hotel but there is ramp access to help with cases rather than struggling with the staires. Antionio booked us in efficiently and gave us all the infomation and All inclusive band which was like a wrist watch ( first time I have come across these and do All Inclusive all the time, Fantastic invention ) We were placed in a room up the back of the hotel with no views so disappointed went to see what other rooms was availibleas specila 10 day holiday so wanted a nice room. Up graded to a sea view room and wow what a difference, cost alot of money to up grade so be aware of this prior to going ( Not offered through Jet2 Holidays to up grade room ) Yes room was SO small but had enough space to work round. Shower was powerful but very bijiuox with a un hygenic wooden flooring in shower itself. No tea coffee facilities in room which us Brits do like. Our bedding didnt get changed after 5 days so had to make comment of this at reception but was sorted after this. We stayed in rooms 1-10 which have the best views of the bay and the cliff top beach ar was just above for superb beds and quietness from the main pool. Beach towels are available at reception for a deposit of 10 euros and change when you want. Bar waiter in the Cliff top was superb often came round with drinks when you never ordered and kept the area spotless and child free! Worked long hours and a credit to your hotel. Staff in main pool area ( three old chaps Im afraid need re training as oh my they worked so slow and often walked away totally ignoring you, found them rude so avoided if possible ) There is alot of down marking this hotel re these guys so maybe do need re trained or replaced to stop losing marks for this fabulous hotel! Restaurant is always clean and tidy, be best to aviod busy times so no ques. Did find the food luke warm on afew occasions but able selection for all. Ruben and the young girls were friendly and made us feel welcome. The hotel is set outside with its own beach area, jelly fish were often spotted so be careful. Plenty of steps to and from the beach so if disabled maybe a struggle. Walk to the other 2 beaches are a small 5-10 minute walk BUT dont go out of reception go to the Cliff bar and between row13 at the end is a door taking you through to the car park go that way shaves 5 mins off your walk. There is a gym and beauty saloon on site and lots of activities to do should you wish but we never did any. One thing which would be a benefit to this hotel is a concierge option to get the luggage to and from reception as theres alot of slopes and steps to battle with. Would I recommend? Yes for a quiet restful holiday. Would I go Back? Yes
We had booked a quad room for two adults and two kids and a double for two adults and an infant. Both were in the same block, block M room numbers 105 and 89, Both rooms were identical, the quad room merely had the fold down couch folded down. With the couch down there was not enough room for us to enter the room let alone unpack a case or open the fridge. The photographs of the quad room shown on Jet 2's website are in fact taken from the bathroom, not the entrance. The sole entrance is via the balcony which is not really a balcony at all but a small porch with not even enough room for the supposed 4 occupants of the room to sit. There were only two seats on the balcony. The receptionist, in dealing with our initial complaint, informed me that only Jet 2 advertise any rooms in Portinax Beach Club as suitable for 4 persons. We upgraded to a Jnr Suite, the cost was €300 which Jet 2 won't refund. When we arrived on 13 October the Sky Bar was closed for the season. The Cliff Bar and Beach Bar opened only for short spells during the day at first before they too closed altogether. These were the features that stood this hotel apart from some of the other, cheaper hotels we looked at. If the hotel is to remain open in October and accept bookings then I believe all the facilities advertised should be available. I am aware that I am not the only guest that has made a compliant concerning this matter.
Can not fault it, it was such a beautiful place despite going in the middle of August it never felt too busy, food was a bit hit & miss but if your not too fussy there’s plenty to choose from, everything was just lovely from the staff to the rooms, entertainment wasn’t the best I’ve seen but the kids absolutely loved it, would definitely go again given the chance
We loved it here! Loved the adult only areas but just as happy around the main pool too. Their little private beach is great. All inclusive was good...good range of food, drinks and cocktails (we were very impressed for the price we paid). The views across the bay from the hotel were stunning. A five minute walk into Portinatx so a great location overall. There were lots of steps/hills but we knew that before we went so it wasn't a surprise/problem for us at all. We would definitely stay here again.
Had a fantastic week her in mid October. Facilities were brilliant, lovely private cove & small beach, fantastic to use free kayaks, great snorkelling off the beach, v friendly staff, lots of room, & nice quiet areas. Lovely sea views everything & v pretty place. Great choice if food at every meal, really lovely rooms well kitted out & great bathrooms. Much higher than 3 stars, more like 4. Would visit again, highly recommend. Lots of steps & different levels do not suitable for those with mobility issues.
Just got back from an amazing 7 day holiday. Memory foam beds and power showers. Sky bar was just above our room so great place to chill and watch a member of the fit and fun team playing football and volleyball with his top off!! namely Khristoph staff very friendly and helpful but service a but slow sometimes . The views were spectacular.
This hotel ticked all the boxes for me. Very Modern, sleek, full of activities, and staff who despite working all season, and it would appear all day and night! gave us a fresh and fun week packed with activities. I enjoyed Zumba, my daughter and granddaughter enjoyed the paddle boarding, Eve played darts, did rifle shooting, got on the stage, but I didn't have enough hours in my week to do all the activities. I'd have loved to try the mountain biking, At night they put on a great show for the children and then for the adults. Splendid guys Splendid There were 6 in the animation team and they put on a great show. Will be back. Definitely. And hope they will be too. Maybe the reception could have a receptionist for new arrivals and one for residents. Maybe speed up the process. But thats nothing. Happy end of season to all the staff
Overall good hotel, well decorated, bedroom and bathroom very nice and clean but... : Need a car as isolated. Not all rooms have a view. Catering is average, not really local, breakfast is nice. Note that the restaurant is exclusively indoor :-(. The bar and terrace are nice and with a view on the beach! Lunch buffet/snack at lunchtime (very basic) can be taken there. Swimming pool is very small and people (although not authorised) reserve their sun beds very early. The "adults only pool" is even smaller. The hotel beach is not really a beach but still allow for a swim and access to the sea. What made it a great holiday: a short drive away you can access really beautiful beaches and places!
Just back from this beautiful resort and had an amazing time. Room was clean and had a great balcony area, only downfall was how small for a double room and no bath which proved tricky with a baby. Good shower! Pool area gorgeous, we had no issues with sun loungers as is constantly stated in these reviews. Perhaps due to going in off peak time though. The private beach is also gorgeous although be prepared to walk hills and steps! A 10-15 min steep walk is well worth it to the beach in portinatx town which is stunning! Food and drink were great, staff were also great! Over all fab holiday not much to complain about and very child friendly. Hoping to return next year!
