The house is located on the seaside road, on a quiet pebble bay-beach. It consists of the first floor of a two floor villa, it is completely independent, its entrance being at a different road than the second floor. It does not share any space and has exclusive access to the terrace.
It is traditional hydreotic, built in the 19th century and renovated recently. It is located at one of the most privileged areas of the island at the least crowded part of town, offering seclusion, yet proximity to the port and facilities. Its advantageous location offers the beauty of living next to the sea, as well as an easy 10 minute walk from the port, by the main seaside road, without any stairs at all.
Its view at the windmills on the rocky hill, that rises through the ocean, has often been selected by artists as a favorite landscape to capture on canvas, as has been the house itself. Even more, the amazing sunset view is a reason to stay at home in the afternoon.
The house is recently refurbished and decorated by its owners in an antique and island style that matches the affluent character of old Hydra. The house offers a full assortment of facilities, as it has been designed for permanent residence.
The vacation home is air-conditioned and features a kitchen and a patio, and there's space to spread out with 2 bedrooms and a dining area. Guests can enjoy a Smart TV and stay connected with free WiFi. Other standard amenities include a washing machine, a coffee maker, and an ironing board. Housekeeping is available on request.

It was our first time on Hydra and we all fell in love with the island and our Accommadation. Our host George was delightful to deal with gave very clear instructions. The views are amazing as were the sunsets. Four adults managing with one bathroom/toilet was a challenge but it wouldn’t stop us booking here again.
Perfect location with a beautiful view from the patio
This was the perfect location for our stay on the beautiful island of Hydra. George was a gracious host with prompt and helpful communication. The quaint old stone house was comfortable and well equipped, even with the temperamental old plumbing. We really enjoyed the serenity and fabulous views.
The photos do not do this property justice. It is in the most magnificent spot....close enough to walk into Hydra and far enough away to be wonderfully peaceful. We relaxed so well and would recommend it unreservedly. The views of the sunset from the upper terrace are stunning
My spouse and our adult son and his wife had an amazing 10 day stay at George’s traditional stone house. The location is perfect, approximately half way between the Port and Kamini. It is right beside Techne Restaurant but 20 steps up to the door of the house which provides you with privacy from the restaurant and the walking path below and magnificent views. We spent most of our time on one of the two exquisite patios which offered both shade and sun, as you prefer. It is one of the best equipped places I have ever rented and the host was very kind and responsive. Although the weather was hot (high 20s) the thick stone walls and excellent cross ventilation kept us comfortable with minimal use of the air conditioning. Flushing the toilet was a bit of a challenge but we soon mastered the technique. It’s basically a pump. Family upstairs very quiet. Friendly cats. Unfortunately, Avlaki Beach across the street is closed due to rock falls and subject to police boat patrols. Wonderful holiday. Thank you George.

Cozy home with magnificent views
This little stone home is the perfect setting for a Hydra getaway. It is far enough away from the crowds of the port to be quiet, but close enough to both the port and Kamini to get groceries or to eat out at a restaurant. The home has a large terrace for dinners and sunset watching, a fully equipped kitchen, comfy beds, and is just steps to the staircase to the clear blue water below. We were there in late July and it was so hot, but the building stayed cool and the big fans kept us comfortable at night. Not to mention, we were just up the stairs from Techne Restaurant--a really amazing restaurant with the kindest servers and the best mint lemonade ever. Michalis was super easy to get in touch with and was immediately responsive to any questions we had.
Word to the wise--be careful with the toilet flush! We accidentally pulled it too hard and pulled it off its connection to the tank which is in the ceiling above the bathroom. Michalis's lovely neighbor came by and helped us fix it in a flash--we were so thankful for her!
We will be back!

Location, location, location
We found this to be the perfect location for a week on Hydra. Just out of town, so away from the hustle and bustle of the main port but still close enough for a nice walk for breakfast or a water taxi to St. Nikolaos beach. No steps to climb other than those from the path to the house, so no need for a donkey; just upstairs from one of Hydra's best restaurants; just steps across the path down to Avlaki beach; and those perfect sunset views. Michalis was very responsive to every question and request, and though the decor and amenities aren't the most up to date, the place makes up for that in its stone house charm and, of course, the location.

Perfect location with gorgeous sea views
We loved our stay on Hydra at this charming stone house with expansive sea views and gorgeous sunsets. Our host was responsive, organized and extremely helpful, offering restaurant suggestions and other advice about the island. The home is clean, filled with beautiful antiques, and has modern amenities. Location is away from the bustle and noise of the port but an easy walk there for dining and transport. Highly recommend. We will surely be back!

Lovely spot
This is a perfect house: comfortable and well located with everything you could want to make your stay delightful, including a wonderful collection of music! Having been on Hydra many times at different seasons, I can't imagine a more ideal spot to stay, especially when the tourist influx is not at its late July/early August apex (which means on other seasons there is less boat traffic and a lot more quietude. . .) Even at the apex, we had a great time, especially when we moved our breakfast table to the upper terrace, which affords a little more privacy and uninterrupted, gorgeous views of the sea. We also appreciated the clear and considerate communication we received from our hosts. Highly recommended!

Perfect location, lovely old home
We loved staying here. The location, terrace, and furnishings are all perfect. The bed is comfortable, the light and view are amazing, and a wonderful, low-key beach is just down the side of the cliff via steps. Wine at the terrace table at sunset is every bit as perfect a vacation cliche as you could imagine. The kitchen is fairly modern, with lots of appliances and a full complement of pots, dishes, glasses, and cutlery, so if you want to make dinners (and even BBQ outside), it's easy. The town is about a 10-minute walk away -- just far enough to be quiet and just close enough to be accessible. Techne, the excellent restaurant next door, is a huge plus, because they serve 3 meals a day and play quiet music (you can't hear it at all). Because this is a 100+-year-old, family-owned home, it's not quite as polished as some vacation rentals, but the many positives I've noted more than make up for that. Also, Michalis is an excellent communicator and very helpful.

Two perfect weeks
I thought twice about reviewing this house because I didn't want to let the secret out! There is absolutely no better location on Hydra. An easy 10 minute seaside walk from the main harbor takes you to this delightful Hydriot home in a quiet neighborhood. The owners are very eager to please their guests and accommodate them in every way possible. The house is clean and comfortable and nicely furnished. It has just about everything you could possibly need (except AC) including wifi which was installed at my request!
Best of all are the views and proximity to swimming in the crystal clear water just steps below the house. I have been back from Hydra for two weeks and already I am ready to return.

TRAUMURLAUB
