The beds are very hard! And there is no air con in the breakfast room!!! The rooms were clean and the hotel was easy enough to find. Staff were friendly and spoke some English, the roof top bar is nice
There is not too much to say for this hotel. Rooms are clean and look well maintained, the pool is located on the fourth floor with a view over a small part of the city, the spa also looks nice from the outside with its 3 different chambers. I would rather recommend the hotel for business trips than holidays since it is a little bit on the edge of the town center. The staff is really nice and helpful. Bonus points for the breakfast buffet which is really huge. Only downside was, that the room was facing the street, so the more sound-sensitive should prepare for lots of beep beeps and too toots...
You reach the reception by a big flight of steps not very accessible for those with mobility impairments. The hotel seemed to be used by lots of tour groups such as the one we were on. Rooms are a good size well equipped and the bathroom had a bath which was clean and inviting unlike th bathrooms in other hotels we stayed in on our tour. Bed was comfortable and cable TV (which we didn't watch) had a good selection of English channels. The decor is starting to look a bit shabby in the rooms and the lifts didn't always work which meant a long wait at times. The roof top bar is very nice but the prices are way overpriced particularly when there are so many bars and restaurants within walking distance. The pool is very small but pleasant for a quick dip. Breakfast was very good with lots of choice and attentive service.
I must commend the reception staff and the porters (especially Minh, Hun, Thanh, Thang and Thuyen whose names I took as they were so helpful) nothing was too much trouble and they helped as much as they could. The hotel is well positioned and there are some great restaurants around the corner. Breakfast was good and varied as well. Rooms were nice. Be aware the tourist trips offering citadel n temples in a day are pretty poor as so little time and get herded in and out. More importantly they do the citadel in 1 1/2 hours when you need at least 4 hours (this was not the hotel but as this is one of the reasons to visit hue worth mentioning) Also great restaurant 5 mins walk away xuan trang bar- restaurant 42 chug van street great value and good food with a fantastic happy hour staff genuinely friendly
We've slept here 2 nights, but I almost booked another hotel after feeling the beds. There as hard and uncomfortable as rocks. The wifi is terrible and the prices for laundry (which you can better do around the corner) are way too high. When we went to the swimming pool and asked for towels we had to ask it twice and then she said it 'was finished' (at 19:00, but the swimming pool was open till 20:00). The only good part was the personnel at breakfast and the breakfast was okay.
Gold Hotel was our first stop in our long trip from Ha Noi to HCC. The hotel is well located, staff is diligent and helpfull. Special thanks to Mr Thang, very friendly and always ready to give us directions
Stay here everytime come to Hue city, very good hotel and friendly staff, location was very good, a lot of restaurant around. Wifi is need to improve, the bellboy was very helpfull, he gave us a lot of instruction for food around this city. Will come back agian.
We arrived at the hotel after a very long trip from Hanoi on an overnight bus. On booking.com we had the choice of telling the hotel when we would arrive that day which we did and requested an early morning check in. To our surprise the hotel had no intention of checking us in early and stated that the hotel check in was 3pm... it was 6 am when we arrived. We were offered to go shower where the pool area was which was the most revolting toilet I have seen with no shower at all. We sat downstairs for what felt like forever when the staff finally offered us a room at 11am. Now I understand about late check in at hotels, but why offer us an early check in and ask when we will be arriving? The room however was perfect, mini bar, tv, shower with bath (love having a bath), room service (which was difficult with the language on many occasions). We didn't use the pool after our first encounter with its toilet. The breakfast was one of our best in Vietnam, noodles, rice, choice of egg, cereal fruit etc. The food from room service and their restaurant was average but useful as restaurants were a good walk away. Overall our first impression of the hotel wasn't very good yet our stay here was comfortable and we would stay here again.
Very central location great, clean and spacious rooms Good breakfast And the staff was very helpful as they didn't get our reservation from booking.com (!!) they made their best to relocate us in another hotel for one night (which I don't recommended the Ngoc/Jasmin hotel, bit crappy and smelly) Coming back to Gold after Jasmin was then enchanting :-) Recommended for families
Stayed at the Gold Hotel as part of an intrepid tour. A nice hotel was definitely a welcome sight after a night on the overnight train. The staff were all welcoming and accommodating, the room was neat, spacious and clean. The bar had an incredible view of the city and a visit to the spa for a traditional Vietnamese massage is a must! Breakfast was also delicious and varied! Looking for any activities while you're here - suggestions would be a cyclo tour, visit to the Citadel and Imperial City, a tour on the back of a motorbike and visiting the local watering hole, Brown Eyes - where they are open 5pm to the last one passes out!
