The staff was very nice from the front desk to housekeeping! Great bartenders too ! Our room had a great view of the beach, pools, & patio area. The ceiling fan in our room was a big help.
The staff was very nice, hotel very clean, but the hotel feels old. The AC in the premium rooms we got never work well, it never stopped! We had to get up at night to turn it off, because it never goes off once it reaches the set temperature. But the worst is the food. This is an all inclusive hotel, but the food was pretty bad. In the breakfast to little choices, no salmon, or berries. Mostly eggs and basic stuff. Lunch food was average the only exception were the grilled steaks, which were pretty good. But on the second day my wife and I got sick from something at lunch, could have been the beef soup ot who knows what. Next days we tried to stick to fruits and vegetables. The a la carte restaurants, the Italian and the Mexican were very good, but sumarizing the food in the buffets was awful. Nothing compared to RIU Hotels or many others.
Only stood here for one night but ended up staying a full two days. Everything you need is at the resort. The beach is ok but the pools are amazing. Had a graet time and will be returning again!
Everything about hotel was AMAZING...staff, rooms, food, drinks, location.
hotel was great from the time we check in until checked out. Only thing is all of the restaurants are not open everyday so you need to plan a little more before dinner.
The Hotel was really good for the price. I found most of the restaurants to be really good, though the western buffett was not that great. The rooms are fairly nice and the mini bar has a few beers in it. The all inclusive is good for drinks and they have most of the premium brands you likely drink but they are hidden away and you have to ask for them. One gripe is that their mixers are not cold so ice melts almost instantly in the heat.
We stayed at the Huatulco Dreams Hotel the week of June 1. We were a little concerned since this was the rainy season and Hurricane Barbara just went through this area. The weather called for rain everyday. And it did rain every day, but at night. We actually had very good weather. Sun everyday!. It was rather amazing, as we sat at the pool looking at the ocean the skies were sunny. If you went to the room and looked back at the mountains it was always dark and cloudy. The people at the resort are super nice always going out of there way to help. I thought the food selection was less that other resorts we have visited, but what they had tasted much better than most places. Even being in the low season chairs by the main pools under the shaded areas were hard to come by. The rooms were clean, large and serviced twice daily. It was also one of the most picturesque places I have stayed at. Not just the resort, but also the surrounding bays. Especially with the mountains in the backdrop. Overall, a great place to stay!!
I give compliments to the staff. Everyone we encountered were great. It was a relaxing vacation. I wish we could utilize the beach more, but due to high tides, they had to seal of the beach 50% of the time.
My wife and I stayed for a week this last April and we weren't quite sure what to expect. The pictures were beautiful and the reviews were what put us over the top and made us book our stay. Since there were no direct flights from Los Angeles to Huatulco, we had to have a conecting flight. But since we were on vacation it was no biggie... Once we finally got to the resort, we fell in love with everything. The staff treated us like family and really made us feel welcomed when we were told "Welcome Home". Over all the resort was wonderful and the beach was beautiful. But due to rough waves and jellyfish we weren't able to go in the water for the first few days... but when we were able to it was great. The room was amazing, we had a "tropical" view but with the position of our room we had a partial occean view which have the balcony one of our favorite places throughout the days and nights. The restaurants were all amazing quality, with the exception of the buffet, only because it was a buffet... If you got there early the food was good but the later it got the quality went down with it. We had an amazing stay and the staff really made it better. Housekeeping was twice a day, plus the nightly turn down service. We would recomend the resort to anyone we know. We would absolutely love to return, but who knows when that will be. A small side note we left on a saturday, and we were glad we did, because the resort was so packed from the previous days arrivals. The breakfast buffet was so packed that there was a long wait and a second restaurant was opened. But had to be clsed to prepare for lunch. So make sure you plan your stay in the middle of the week to avoid the weekend rushes.
When we first arrived we were greeted with a ng, cool, refreshing cucumber drink. The service was outstanding from the maid service, to the restaurant employees, to the employees serving drinks around the pool. The seven pools was amazing. Unfortunately, we were given the wrong room, however, they did give us a discount at the spa which worked out very well for us. The food was good at the restaurants. It is a great place for families and friends to get together.
Likes - Huatulco area is very clean - Weather is very constant (we had no rain the week of sept 1-7) - Lots of different pools - Lots of activities to participate in if you wanted to - Staff is wonderful, very sweet people (you treat them with respect they treat you with respect) - premium rooms worth if if you take advantage of the free spa stuff or if you get a good deal (most rooms have at least a partial ocean view) Dislikes - VERY minimal food choices during the weekdays. (we were also there for Christmas 2012 and found alot more choices with all of the buffets and restaurants open) - bed was terrible
The hotel is one of the best places I ever been, the food is delicious, the service wonderfull, the personnel is very kind and the location of the hotel is magnificent. I,m shure than in my next vacation I,m going to find a Dreams hotel it really was a very very nice vacation
The resort is beautiful, staff not so friendly. Staff not so accomodating. They only have two types of beer, for those that do not drink Corona's you will if you stay at this resort. They should have more beer options. Wi-fi should be complimentary not $10 a day. Room service should not have limitations. Cleaning staff should provide clean towels if dirty ones on the floor and should provide extra face wash clothes.
I think this is a good hotel for families, but if you travel with your couple or by yourself I do not recommend it. The Spa is really good. Check in and check out a nightmare, since the hotel is very busy all the time.
This was our fourth trip to a Dreams Resort. We have stayed at Dreams Cancun, Puerta Vallerta, Cabo and now Hatulco. Of the four we've seen so far, we put Hatulco fourth on our list. The facility really is pretty and the rooms are very nice, the staff is friendly. We liked the others a little better for several things, food, outside activities, in house entertainment. In addition, and ths is VERY important to us, this Hatulco Dreams had some aggressive anti smoking rules, which we hated. Outside and open air locations, which is most of the facility, should not be restrictive. Not on my vacation. Also found that we actually had to request alcohol in our drinks, really? I thought that was implied when you order a drink.
The overall resort is beautiful, from the landscape design to the layout of the pools and the gorgeous long stretch of amber beach. The staff here is extremely friendly and accommodating to your needs. The overall resort is spotless including your room. Our room is more or less standard resort room with an exception of a Jacuzzi on you balcony. I thought that was pretty cool. The all inclusive food was fair/ good, and the best is the world cafe for breakfast. We found the food to be a bit monotonous and is not as good as the Dreams in Cancun although they have similar restaurants. There are some issues that give me pause to return to this hotel, for two and half days there was a incessant noise of power sanders and scrapers near the adult pool from morning thru the afternoon. We've come to a resort to enjoy the pool and relax not to hear construction noise. We complained to the front desk and all we got is a lot of lip service "we'll check on it and get back to you tomorrow" so it goes for couple of days. The other problem is that you must be up early to get the few chairs that are available near the pool. The pools however are wonderful and are on the edge of the beach and provides a fantastic view of the bay. All in all not a bad all inclusive hotel except for a couple of issues which I described.
Just got home today. This resort was amazing and the wheather is even better. Very clean and very friendly place. Looking for SAFE you will find it here, in and out of the resort! I would recommend this great place.
My wife and I really enjoyed our stayed in Dreams Huatulco. After doing some research and comparisons, we decided to go there for our 4th year anniversary. From the moment we arrived, they gave us a nice welcome and treated us with respect and very politely. They quickly checked us in and brought our luggage up to our room. Our room included a jacuzzi built-in on the balcony. The room was very clean and all drinks inside the small fridge were included at no additional charge. The resort counts with 6 restaurants and they all offer excellent food. However, our favorite restaurant was Himitsu because of their food and their exceptionally excellent service. They went beyond their way to treat us nice and to give us an excellent service. The pools were very clean and well maintained. They offer pools for the whole family and pools for adults only. The only downside is they closed the pools early at 8pm to clean them up. The beach area is nice and has a beautiful scenery. Overall, I recommend this hotel to anyone and the best part is that although it may seem a bit pricey, it's all inclusive. The money you may think you may save at another hotel you will spent in food. The only thing I did not like was having to pay extra for internet when it should already be included for the price you pay.
This was my fourth time in Huatulco and my first and LAST in this hotel, I was going to wait for the new hotel SECRETOS that is about to open but I found out that is part of the same hotel chain.
I was in dream Spa Hotel For 4 Days and LOved It , I did the 7 bahias Tour which took all day but was worth it . I dont recommend taking the Horse Back Riding Tour, The poor Horse are all old and tried and the guided didnt even help us teaching us how to controll the horse and left us behind and when on his own on the trail, plus theres alot of bugs on the trail you take to the beach. the hotel was really really nice and helpful . the food was ok in the day time but breakfast n dinner was really good.
