Had a great time. Hotel and staff were awesome! Coming back soon....I hope!!

Upgrade to plunge pool Oceanside view well worth it.The food was great for breakfast but having to book or have ale cart was not the greatest. We went European plan enjoyed the breakfast buffet numerous times very reasonable & good choices.Glad to leave hotel & take in the many sites, also enjoyed the beach @ hotel swim-able most days.Found the beach bar opened a little late & closed to early most days. Also went to town & bought Mr. Coffee machine for room this allowed us to relax with a morning beverage before breakfast & make tea also well worth not having to wait for 7:00 am opening for breakfast. Not that I did but tap water is potable throughout Huatulco still a bit cautious but did eat & drink things I normally am weary of like ice, freshly washed veg.& lettuce, etc.

Excellent. Great location, food and hotel staff. Had a wonderful time!!!

The hotel in general was ok, but my room left a lot to be desired. I booked a room with a king size bed, but got one with two double beds that were so short that my feet dangled over the edge... very uncomfortable. The TV remote did not work very well, had to push the buttons many times to get it to work. The air conditioner was so loud, that I had to turn it off to be able to sleep. The sound proofing was terrible. When the water was used in the room next to mine, it was very loud all over the room. My shower leaked from the faucet and water leaked through the glass partition all over the floor whenever I took a shower. The toilet flushed properly maybe half of the time.

As we entered, the gated entrance wasn't all that impressive but showed a nice concern for order and security. It was an uphill climb for the taxi to the transportation reception area and as we exited the taxi were greeted by Eugenio with moist face towels and chilled drinks which was a pleasant break from the warm afternoon temperature. He took our bags and led us around to the other side and the palm thatched roof reception desk area revealing the beautifully cared for tropical plants and foliage found throughout the entire complex. The receptionist greeted us with a welcome smile and was quite prepared and eager to explain our rooms location and other hotel amenities, restaurants and service available. Her friendliness and desire to assist was typical for all the 100 plus hotel staff we encountered during our stay. Any need one might have and ask for seemed to always get the same response, "Claro que sï" or certainly yes. Our room was clean and spacious with its comfortable furniture and bed with a 8' patio door leading to a furnished balcony overlooking the beach with a great view of the bay and ocean. The bathroom had marble covered walls and his and her sinks was appointed with a very nice glass door to the water closet and beveled edge marble floors span throughout the entire floors. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast and other restaurants, long wandering curving pool, private beach, but most of all walking among the lush vegetation throughout thee entire complex. We may have enjoyed our stay a little more if we had an in room coffee maker and were told if we would call the front desk they would provide one, but often times the coffee brewed in room really isn't all that good anyways so we just left a little earlier for breakfast and enjoyed it there. Overall it was a very relaxing, enjoyable, and well appointed place to stay at. If you do indulge in the mini-fridge or want to connect to the internet in room there is a charge, so to economize we connected in the lobby area and brought back from town our own water, drinks and chips.

I went to this hotel with my girlfriend, the hotel is great in a very good location, the room (with private pool) was clean and very comfortable, the staff gave us a good service. There is not much options for food near the hotel and the restaurants are very expensive with poor quality, you should go to the town or stay in the hotel.

This is our 5th stay at the Camino Real Zaashila and every year it is great. The staff makes you feel like family, the room is clean and the view is like no other. If we had one complaint it would be that the beds need updated they are on the very firm side. After looking at many other lodging options we have yet to find a better value. We will be back next year !

i have been staying here for over 15 years, and keep coming back, the ambiance, staff, food, beach, pools, and restaurants are fantastic - with or without children. The rooms are basic, but we don't normally stay there very long , given the wonderful surroundings of the hotel .

This resort is top notch. The swimming pool is one of the finest I've ever seen in a tropical resort and beach access is simple and safe. The staff were very friendly, spoke English, and they knew when to leave guests alone. The only problem I had with the room was how cold the floors were; air-conditioning is a must in the Huatulco heat, but you've got to wear slippers or socks in the room or else your feet will freeze. Also, they could have provided complimentary drinking water in the rooms. Instead they charged double the going rate for bottled water. Otherwise, I'd return to this resort in a heartbeat. Fantastic!

Nice view, near to best locación in huatulco... Godo deal!

excellent attention to details. staff is incredible. service is outstanding. beach is beautiful, all rooms face the beach, and have been nicely renovated recently. food is very good. i loved every second of my stay here!

Picture perfect ! Nicest folks on earth. Most relaxing vacation ever ! Will be back next year.

We stayed recently two nights at this hotel and it has quality on every corner, but you actually have to pay a lot for it, even on low-season. The fee does not include anything but the room and the towels for the pool or the beach. Wi-Fi is available but at a very expensive rate. (17 USD or some per day) In order to use the minibar or the safe deposit box on the room, a voucher needs to be open to be used by the administration for anything it can happen to them. About the room, it's large, with a comfortable king-size bed and cable tv with good channels (hbo and maxprime are included). The bathroom is also huge, has tube and its amenities are cool since are from Bath and Body Works. The pool is magnificent, we enjoyed a lot our swimming time. We couldn't stay in the beach because the sea was so rude that day. The details that made our stay not so great were: The night of our arrival and yet installed on the room, we reported a large column of little black ants making their way into our bedroom, from the door to the window. The clerk sent us a cleaning lady who mop the ants and dispersed insecticide. The same problem repeated the night after. Every day or our staying, in the morning, two ladies (not the cleaning ladies) checked our bedroom, looking if we had consumed anything from the minibar or the water bottles in the bathroom. I understand they have to do it, but I find it uncomfortable for the guests because this can be done while the making of the room. The last thing: when we were leaving the hotel, I asked the bellboy to help me get a taxi to the airport. He got me a very expensive one. It was going to charge me 350 MXP for the ride and I protested because I told them that two nights before, a taxi charged me 250 MXP but from a distant town (Pochutla) to the hotel's gate! The distance from that town to the hotel is considerably greater than the hotel to the airport. So,as the transport was property of the hotel they adjusted me the fare and finally paid 180 MXP for the service. Anyway, it's a good place to stay and rest, but could be better if more things were included with the fares.

We visited in first days of September for 5 days- resort was very quiet since, apparently, it was a low tourism time. So our time spent was very relaxing - which is what we were looking forward to. There are three restaraunts at hotel- however, there was only one avaialble at any given time - so choices on where to eat at hotel were limited. There are places close by (town of Crucecita, 10 minutes by taxi at 30 pesos) with markets, shops, and restaraunts. Due to storms and high danger surf conditions, we were not able to tour the bays of Huatulco. Location right on the beach is why we chose it - nice! Sea turtles hatched during our stay! Would stay here again if back in Huatulco!

Quiet and pretty hotel. Some excellent experiences with the service, but overall inconsistent. Will be helpful to speak spanish.

Spent one week mainly reading and relaxing, did fish 1/2 day. All was great Buffet breakfast and omelet bar was wonderful.

Given the alternative hotels in the area, Camino Real usually gets 4 stars - however, it is really a glorified 3 stars. It's outdated and service needs improvement. The beds are very hard/uncomfortable, rooms need more light and general upgrading. The grounds and the pool are are very nice, though. Plenty of shade, towels, chairs - well taken care of. While at the hotel, favorite spot to hang out.

We have travelled for 18 years to Mexico resorts (Cancun, Cabo, Puerto Vallarta, etc.) and this area seems very safe, friendly and great for relaxation. Beach beautiful and clean but rough waves for swimming. Great location with private beach. Rooms are nice and big with huge bathrooms but hard beds. The main pool could use some renovation but the smaller pool near ocean we LOVED; great lounge chair spot with a breeze.

Aesthetically, it looks beautiful. The truth, the rooms leave MUCH to be desired. Arrived early but not allowed to check in until after 4pm. I found 2 dead iguanas on the side of my mattress/box spring. Rooms were filthy, dated and needs major renovation. Beware! While dining/drinking, practically every bill we received was wrong. Some bar staff were unfriendly and not practice good service skills. I made 2 phone calls from my room to my credit card company to unfreeze the possible suspicious account activity brought on by this very hotel. The first call was disconnected, the second lasted 4 minutes. Both calls totaled $40! They refused to wave this fee. The beach was nice but current prevented all from swimming. I will not stay here nor could recommend this to anyone. Is this really a Camino Real?

Although the room was good, the food was really bad and VERY expensive.
