Long Beach Cha-Am Hotel3.0 out of 5.0

The hotel is centrally located and has clean rooms. The buffet for all the meals has both Thai and continental food. However, It lacks plug points, and has a good buffet for all the meals. The beach is just 2minutes away
Plus: Room very basic but clean and adequately equipped. Staff friendly and helpful. Fantastic location - 5 minutes walk to the beach. Minus: Not enough electricity outlets; only one key for 2 people sharing the same room making it very inconvenient for us. Breakfast poor.
Walk to the beach or languish in either of the two pools, either way you come to appreciate the unique Thai holiday experience which has been, and still is, enjoyed by Thai's for generations. Cha-Am is NOT Pattaya (thank God) but has been a favorite holiday destination for Thai families for a long time. A little distance along the coast from Hua Hin (where Thai Royalty has spent their holidays since Rama 1V) Cha-Am is destined to become swallowed-up by its bigger neighbour so, if you want to experience a genuine Thai beach holiday that hasn't been turned into a set from Little Britain on speed, a stay at this excellent hotel is highly recommended.
We stayed with our 3y old son in the Deluxe room facing the smaller ppool. The room is old and outdated deco,r but clean and just for our needs. I would recommend to take the family room to ensure you have more space and separate sleeping arrangement (if needed). We really enjoied the pools, there are two, which both have sections less deep. The sun also is not direct on the pools early afternoon which is great. The breakfast was good, a lot of local dishes available on top of the usual eggs/bacon, cereal, bread, fruit and yogurt. Deluxe rooms has small bar fridge to store essentials. If you have kids you get a water kettle for free to your room. Safety locker only at the reception. The locations of the hotels is just few meters from the sea and there are several restaurants near by. No shopping really. So if you are looking for relaxing, 'do nothing'-type of vacation with swimming this us your place! We did a trip to Hua Hin (taxis are cheap), and also a day trip to monkey island (by Siam Sea-Cret Cruises), highly recommend . We also visited the Wednesday Cha-Am night market. The only downside was the cleaning of the rooms was not reaching the standard we expected. They cleaner well if they cleaner, BUT It was really about the skills of the cleaners, e.g.. if you left towels on the floor they actually put the back on to the rack from the floor! Also the forgot things, did not bring beach towels and the toilet was forgotten or dirty glasses left accidentally instead of bringing new. Despite the cleaning flaws, we would stay again.
I went to this hotel a year ago. It was good. The foods weren't good but not very bad and foods&drinks is very expensive. The room was great , I can see view of the city and it was very peaceful at night. The facilities are ok. And one thing that I don't like is , it took very long for the butler to get the dishes on the outside of the room.
Locate on Cha-Am beach, tranquility ambience away from city, few minute drive from Bangkok. Hotel is very family friendly, huge space and have convenient parking, walkable to the beach or guest can choose to swim at the hotel... love it.
A good Hotel. This is the hotel to relax on not party. First the positives. nice reception, spacious rooms, good staff, exelent breakfast. It was also nice that they had two pools so you could always find shadow. Poolbar and most opportunities. 2 minutes walk to the beach and sun-chairs provided. All the necisary services around you. Also high end shops nearby. Very good for north-european tourists since they got lots of guest from this area. Eventhough everything is there i feel they lack the "over the top" feeling.
This hotel has good location in very quiet Cha-am you're less than a 5 minute walk to the beach, where the hotel has free sun chairs and umbrellas. The hotel has recently been updated so the rooms have new tiles, fixtures and paint, oddly though the furniture is outdated but in good condition, a minor negative point was they only had 1 electrical outlet. The bathroom was well lit and roomy but had only a shower. They still are using the key system here and to keep the room cool you need to separate the key from the card that keeps the electric running as the air con was just barely able to keep the room cool in one of the rooms and not at all able in the other. Parking was good and secure. The staff at the front desk, security, housekeeping and food service were charming and helpful. Breakfast was just slightly better than what you would expect in this level of hotel, but it's a bit of zoo as the hotel is large and there's many families. However, the wait staff are marvelous. The pools are really nice one middle size pool that is sheltered somewhat from the hot sun and another small playground pool with slides and activities for children who really seem to enjoy it. There is though a lot of empty space in and around the 2 pools that give it an almost empty feeling - I think that this negative space could be utilized better given that both of the pools were always busy. Whilst there are a number of westerners staying at the hotel, the main clientele is Thai families. The noise from families and children never seemed to be a problem with the lone exception of breakfast. One issue that the hotel could easily rectify is the spa, being that people are leaving the hotel in the day for tours, Hua Hin and the beach and not getting back until after dinner it seems unwise that the spa would choose to close at 8 pm, we would have utilized it a few times during our stay had it not been closed. In all it's good hotel in good location and if we choose to stay in Cha-am again we would probably stay there again.
We are staying for a week here, quite hotels the tourist are mainly northern europeans thus the food available adjusted to meet the main visitors standard. The rooms are large and the pool are good. Althought it is not directly in front of beach but the beach are still on walking distance. There also available shuttle for goong to Hua Hin down Town or to airport for 300-500 baht per person on a trip.
The rooms are quite good, but be sure to avoid the sunny side! It gets terribly hot! The staf is really nice, always ready to help you. The internet does not work all the time, at least not in your room, you have to go down to the reception to be sure to have a connection. The poolarea is nice with a special pool for children.
