We've stayed at the ZaZa three times. The hotel has amusing decor (although probably not as clever as the interior decorators think, and not always suitable for children). Everything seemed clean, the staff is great, and the food is good. Although the hotel sometimes has loud weddings, we've never heard them from our room. The rooms do vary a lot in size and quality. Some are spacious, others are cramped (especially the bathrooms) in unpredictable ways. In our most recent stay, the lighting was terrible in our room -- perhaps it was designed for celebrities who don't like to read but just watch TV, when they're not out clubbing.

Not resort amenities (small bath/shower) but clean and nice staff

I stayed in the Bella Vita and the room is outstanding! Super spacious, lavish views, exquisite style, and immaculate housekeeping! The staff was all kind, professional, helpful and in good spirits.

Best experience EVER! Not only was the hotel beautiful but the staff so sweet! When Jade at the front desk found out it was my birthday she worked on getting us upgraded and oh boy did she! She got us in the black label room and it was STUNNING! will definitely be going back! Thank you so much Jade!!

Za Za is a unique, boutique hotel in the museum distrcit. Houston is a great city, but you probably shouldn't visit in the summer months!

This hotel has lots of characters that they decorate the wall with arts and images in a beautiful way. The hotel is next to natural science museum, fine art museum, and Hermann park. It is very convenient to go this these places and enjoy the relax day around the park. The Monarch restaurant in the hotel is very tasty, but their staff need more smile and better altitude. More training on the staff is required. We bought the room with free parking and breakfast. But by the time we checked out, the hotel charges us the parking fee and breakfast. They even modified our breakfast tips by themselves to reach 20~40%. We have to argue with them to remove the parking fee and absurd tip fee. We stayed there for about a week. The parking tag was worn out and barely tag to our car key. The parking staff didn't even change the new parking tag for us. This hotel need serious training and management. The overall room quality and facility is very nice though.

Hotel offers different taste on its interior decoration. It is enjoyable to explore every corner in each floor. The brrakfast is really nice. If you book with free breakfast, it offers up to $40 voucher. It also comes with free parking and Internet options. If you signed up as ZIP member, you get one night free after six nights stay here. The room is so nice and clean, well designed except the shower tub needs to be more covered with shower curtain or equivalent stuff. Most importantly, it closes to museums and Hermann park. Overall, very nice hotel, very nice hotel, highly recommended.

We were put in room 418, which has a modified bathroom to make it handicap accessible. This was fine with us, but there was no separation from the bathroom floor and the shower floor (besides the shower curtain), so our floor got pretty wet. There was also no bath mat so it was very slippery. Also, to switch the water from flowing out of the overhead shower head to the hand-controlled shower head, the switch is up really high so I think it would be very difficult for a handicap person to switch it. The toilet paper also could have been nicer... :P There seemed to be many basics missing. The room comes with robes, but no slippers... The bathroom floor is so so cold. Although there is a complimentary tea and coffee station in the morning, there is no kettle in the room... maybe so we are more tempted to drink their $6 bottled water? Side note: the breakfast blend tea + sugar + milk is delicious! They have a complimentary shuttle service, operated as first-come-first-serve, that will take you anywhere within 5 miles of the hotel. So awesome! We used this to go eat at Uchi. You can also call to have them come back to pick you up, but we opted to walk back. They said the wait for the shuttle is typically 10-15 minutes.

Went for the marathon and the room was a great place to come back to and rest. Very comfortable and quiet

Hotel Zaza is in the Museum District. Most museums are within walking distance or you can use the trolley system. Thursdays are free to most museums! Our petite queen room was extremely small, but nicely decorated. The pool area was beautiful as was the lobby. We made use of the hotel shuttle to take us to restaurants, the Galleria, and Minute Maid Park.

Private pool, views, and location can't be beat, but overpriced forced valet parking, no included breakfast, limited evening pool hours but no hot tub, and pillows so flat you get neck pains don't live up to the luxury reputation. Also, the staff charged the room to my credit card rather than through my bank account via PayPal as I'd set it up when I made the reservation. Not a disaster, but not perfect service, either. I'd suggest a free guest shuttle within a certain radius, especially to reach affordable dining, or at least a few bagels laid out with each floor's morning coffee/tea to make guests feel like they're getting a little back for what they pay.

I cannot recommend the ZaZa highly enough. It is my second time here in five years. There has been no drop in quality, cleanliness, decor or hip-ness of this hotel during that time. Great location next to the Museum of Fine Arts and close to the university. Great food. Great staff.

don't stay there. Awful staff. Awful room. As loud as in a train station, as it was above the kitchen with the exhaust on all night. Did not sleep at all. They kept lying that they will fix it, but in the end admitted to lying.

very pretty hotel, comfortable rooms, nice location

We had a great time even with a few "bumps".[...]. Staff was very nice everywhere!!! At 2:30am we were awakened by a very noisy wedding party. After they never quieted down we did have to call and security took care of it very quickly. We had tons of fun and have planned our next visit!!

It was a weekend get away with my girlfriend who I was proposing to during my stay. Broken promises from the staff led to a frustrating time. Communication was poor at best, most of the plans that they helped me make early on in the week did not work out. Room was clean and looked great. Lounge/bar was nice. I have been on five cruises and I am accostomened to that level of service, Zaza didn't stack up

Very good service

Active hotel but what stood out was service - hotel van drove me to pharmacy to pick up prescription - it was faster than getting car from valet. Very responsive, very friendly staff.
