This Hotel is classic and part of the Hot Springs National Park history. I enjoyed staying there. Very walkable to the main row of Bath houses as well as across the street from the factual Hot Springs Pool. I walked to the top of the hill and the look out tower from there (about 1.5 miles up). It has 2 pools going up the hill behind it as well as a large hot tube. It was cool to hang out there. The rooms are dated. Historic, not fancy. But large. Service was hit or miss. 2 employees I dealt with seemed bored/annoyed to have to serve us (front desk & restaurant). 2 were Super friendly and helpful (Valet and Bartender). I would stay there again regardless. Free Spring Water tap in the lobby.

Despite the computers being down all weekend we were there, the accommodations and staff and overall experience was great. The staff did their best to get guests checked in quickly without the use of their computer system…and on a very busy Valentine’s Day weekend! The hotel is undergoing renovations but it remained quiet and clean in the areas open to the public. The atmosphere in the lobby in the evenings was relaxed and fun with live music and great singers on the little stage. The food and drinks were delicious and again, the staff was amazing. I took off one star since it seemed they were not able to take reservations for dinner even though the dining room was not full at all. Perhaps they were low on staff? We enjoyed the history of the hotel and the vibe of “days gone by” it had. The bed was a little too hard for us, but not a big deal. The bathroom was what one would expect from an older hotel and still functioned great. Not sure we will come back in the summer or deep winter since it appears the hotel is not equipped with air conditioning or heat. Best to stay in Spring and Fall when the weather outside is more mild.

I hate to give a bad review because in the past we have loved staying here, but the room looked like it hadn’t been dusted in months. No stopper in the sink. Curtains broken. Mold and mildew in the shower. Bathroom floor was dirty. The breakfast that was offered was the same as the free one you get at Holiday Inn Express just presented fancy. Staff was friendly. Loved the bar staff. Won’t stay again. :(

The reservation system went down and it took HOURS to check in, completely ruining the first night we were there. Then the hotel did not plan on compensating anything. Not a free drink ticket, not reservation fees, not even free parking. I understand it is not their fault but compensating for the inconvenience of lack of emergency planning would be the bare minimum.

I have to say I was pretty disappointed. The condition of the room was subpar for the price we paid per night. There was peeling paint/wall plaster throughout the hotel and the room we were assigned, the tub/shower was chipped in multiple places and there were rust stains...likely from the DRIP DRIP DRIP that LOUDLY went on the entire time we were there and kept my husband awake! There were stains on the carpet and the door into the room was questionable. The signs of history throughout the hotel were quaint (glass doorknobs, brass mail slit between the elevator doors, the old water stations in the hallways, etc.), but, if I'm paying as much per night as the NEW hotel down the street, I expect better. The Staff were great...that was a definite positive. However, when we checked in, the computers were down and they proceeded to xerox copy my ID and credit card - which I was SUPER UNCOMFORTABLE with. Upon checkout, the computers still were not back up and the front desk gal didn't want to hand me back the copies they made, but went to speak to her boss and came back handing me the photocopies. I will not come back here to stay until I have confirmed that the rooms have indeed been updated completely. We actually heard that the hotel has been in the process of update the last 4 years already.

The hotel's computer system was down, which created obstacles in check-in and -out. Restaurant was closed for dinner due to a "wedding dinner," and room service was unavailable due to aforementioned computer problem. In fairness, staff members were professional and accommodating and did stellar work under difficult circumstances. I love this hotel and look forward to its continuing improvements, which are obviously ongoing. I don't like the new lobby decor, though, which appears a bit cheap for a hotel of this stature. I do love the Arlington, which has room for improvement, which the hotel is obviously working hard to achieve.

The hotel is awful! Our hvac didn’t work, the toilet was made for a dwarf, the shower was disgusting we had to shower when we got home. The room had Sheetrock with mold exposed in our room, it was worst than any hotel 6 I ever encountered. The coffee maker didn’t work either! I highly suggest saving your money the rooms are craptholes.

We love the Arlington like you love your grandfather whose best days are behind him. Yes, it is being renovated slowly and is costing someone gobs of cash. But it is hurting. There is no ramp to enter the hotel with your suitcase. You must drag it up numerous stairs. There is no space reserved to park while you check in...not sure what you are supposed to do. Some desk clerks are friendly, others not so much. (The impression is that of a skeleton crew.) The halls are dark and musty. The rooms really, really need an upgrade....stained carpets....peeling paint, etc. The secondary paid parking lot is downright terrifying! But the OTT feature was the HVAC system...basically there IS no A/C or heat!!! The Starbucks' espresso machine had been down for two weeks. But, the location is amazing and the overall appearance of the outside of the building and the lobby is grand.
Utterly bizarre and incomprehensible notice about non-existent HVAC system!
View from our room.
