CityFlatsHotel - Holland

3.5 out of 5.0

Recent guest reviews

Nice modern, industrial hotel in the heart of Holland. Great staff, very good food/coffee. Suggestions for improvements: bigger TV’s, a more efficient cable system, more updated central air/heating system (a little noisy).

Close to where we needed to be. Very hard to locate even though I used to live in the area. Poor signage. Rooms have a very cold atmosphere.

Rooms are super clean, very comfortable bed! Staff was awesome!

Having stayed at the City Flats in Grand Rapids, I expected better from the Holland location. The hotel decor and design is very contemporary, as expected, but the experience was fraught with little disappointments, which are, mostly, no-brainers at 3.5 star plus hotels. - The front desk staff seemed "put upon" and I didn't see a smile once in all of my interactions with them. - Coffee service in the room had no creamer, despite three different kinds of sugar. - The master switch in the room was not labeled, which created a bit of confusion - The door to the toilet would not latch, as the plate was mounted incorrectly. - There was only one extra towel in the shower area, within a cabinet designed for six. I did not need the extra on this trip, but it made the lavatory prep seem "unfinished" - The reading lights above the bed are tied to "can" spots above the bed, with no way to turn an individual light on - making you choose from either "full brightness" or no light

I have stayed at this hotel in the past and always enjoyed the contemporary feel and the hotel staff was great!!

I've stayed at the CityFlatsHotel in Holland before and was quite impressed. On that earlier visit, I had given 5 stars, but on this occasion I had reasons for concern. Number one is the closing of the rooftop restaurant. We went to the top floor and were astounded to see a vast, empty space. When I asked what happened, they told us it had closed suddenly with no explanation from management. What a shame. It had a stellar view and the food was excellent too. We were told the lobby bar served the same food, which we discovered to not be the case. We had a greasy pizza and my spinach salad was awful, lacking dressing and topped with weird almonds. Furthermore, the acoustics in the hallways mean you hear everyone who comes down the hall, which interrupted our sleep. I will say, however, that the staff are all extremely friendly and very efficient. The bartender on duty on Saturday was excellent.

We stayed over the holidays and during a snowstorm - the staff did a great job with room service just before the kitchen closed and even ran a menu up to the room in minutes when we discovered the most recent one wasn't tin the room. My kid loved the hotel even though there was no pool - the TV lounge was a great replacement. The beds were comfortable, and the room huge. The only down side - no tub, if you're into that. Highly recommended anyway!

This is my second time staying at City Flats. While I enjoy the "organic" look and feel of the rooms, our room this time seemed a bit "cold". The "no door" shower caused some water to run onto the bathroom tiles outside of the shower. I would love to see an upgrade in the dining experience as all that is offered currently is breakfast.

Clean, almost spartan but very good. Close proximity or walking to the small downtown of Holland, MI

Our overall experience was good, my 11 year old really like the sports lounge.

Excellent hotel. We would stay there again! Roma were big!

Stayed at City Flats for business. The rooms were so unique and very comfortable. I felt like I was at a spa! The location is great for anyone interested in experiencing the city of Holland and all it has to offer. My only complaint is that I couldn't stay longer!!
