My wife and I stayed in a 1 bedroom villa for five nights. It was our first time to Hoi An, so had no initial expectations. The staff were all incredibly helpful and friendly. Well done to them. We dined at all the restaurants and bars during our stay and found them to be both reasonable in price and the quality of food was great, however there was some delay in service at the pool cafe at dinner, but overall it wasn't that bad. The villa apartment was great. We had our own private swimming pool with a fantastic view and the room was well kept with staff regularly attending to give fresh towels and fruit. The resort was about a 20 minute drive from Hoi An old town. We initially went on the free shuttle however we found it difficult to get back on the pre-booked shuttle to return to the resort as people would rush on to the bus without a ticket or the wrong ticket leaving us to argue about having a right to a seat- very uncomfortable... We instead chose to take taxi's (at a slightly greater cost) to avoid the shuttle conflicts and found these to be both convenient and cost effective (around 1000d each way). Overall the resort was great and we will be back next year, hopefully with a group of people. On a side note (and of no reflection on this resort), be careful with the spa places across the road from the resort, as they attempted to scam my wife and I. Best probably to either stick to the resort or be ultra careful when choosing and getting treatments as getting scammed can either result in lost money or in this case, potential physical harm.
Stayed in a suite room which has a separate lounge room, 2 toilets and a view to the ocean which is great. Very happy with the overall stay, nice food, excellent massages and terrific services. Some nights at the restaurant they have live music as well which was really nice. The only drawback I can think of is the beach, you can't swim there. If you want to swim on the beach you have to go to next door property.
Stayed at this hotel at the end of our impressions of Vietnam escorted tour, was a lovely place to relax, excellent service and food, lovely pool area, good position for beach and good shuttle service to Hoi an,a must see at night for street market, hustle and bustle, but also see in the daytime when its quiet, you can relax by the river with a cheap beer, shop in the local shops and just enjoy the friendly people
Overall the hotel, although on elf the furthest from the old town, is in a great location. Quiet, relaxing and very peaceful and only a 10min drive from the old town. The facilities on offer are plentiful. We used the spa facilities which were great and the massage we had was one of the best during our whole trip to Cambodia & Vietnam. The lap pool with the new Coconut bar was great sipping cocktails in the pool at sunset. Rooms were comfortable. My only criticism was the bathrooms - poor shower design meant water leakage every time we took showers. Also for a 5* hotel, I would have expected better service and more understanding of english from the bar and restaurant staff - communication was quite challenging for basic food and drink enquiries. There was also renovations happening on our floor which for a 5* hotel we should have been informed of this before and/or during our stay. Some people could be quite upset about this. Recommend using the bikes to ride into the old town. We booked a tour through the hotel travel agent which was great. The best service was the receptionist that checked us in - Nguyet - she is an asset to the hotel and definitely delivers 5* service. Finally the beach was great! Hardly anyone from the hotel was using it which was even better! The local drinks seller was great too selling fresh coconut and drinks. Overall, a really enjoyable stay.
We stayed here for 2 weeks in April. Lovley hotel, 2 good pools, one for the adults. Food was lovley although food and drink in the hotel are expensive. There are a few nice restaurants outside the hotel and you're only 10/15 mins taxi from the centre of Hoi An. Staff are very friendly and happy to help. There is a happy hour but the driver still aren't cheap though. Unfortunately the beech at the front of this hotel has been washed away. There is a small beech at the side of the hotel with a hand full of beds on and they have put sand down on the grassed area around the adults pool to try and give a feel of being on the beech. Overall a lovley holiday with a nice hotel.
Thank you Sunrise Resort for the experience I had with you, was absolutely amazing. I admire all the staff for the hard work and couldn't do enough to help us out. You are all wonderful people. A very clean resort, loved the restaurants and catered for all, will definitely be back to see you and the friends we made there, loved it!!!
We booked a 2-bedroom villa, and upon check-in we were warmly greeted at the front office. Shortly after that, we had our welcome drinks - a choice of coffee, ginger tea or passion juice at a small lounge. We were also given a small fruity treat which was totally refreshing! Overall the resort was well-kept. Our villa was clean, beds were comfortable and the water pressure on the shower was good. And we totally enjoyed the outdoor/ open-air shower area (especially at night, you can literally see the stars just above you). Housekeeping did a great job, and they even provided a turn-down service in the late evening. Hotel staff was friendly and also helpful - we spoke to one of them who recommended us to a few good local eateries. We also found out that villa guests are entitled to free shuttle to/ from hotel and town area. It's just a 15 min ride but make sure you book ahead of time. Breakfast we had the privilege to dine at a special lounge, which was more private and not overly crowded. Having said that, food options here not as much compared to the main dining area. Food was generally ok. For villa guests, you also get to enjoy complimentary tea buffet in the afternoon. The hotel also provided activities such as yoga, stretching or lantern making - various activities for all group age. There's also an in-house spa which was pretty good, and price was affordable. Will definitely come back again, we totally enjoyed our stay especially villa guests were entitled to so many perks - including free daily laundry and also access to the mini bar which was topped up on daily basis.
We are currently staying in sunrise premium hotel. We have stayed here for the past 3 nights and tonight is our last night for this trip. After reading so many positive reviews, we are disappointed at the lack of service and professionalism in the staff, especially the front-end staff. Some of the examples are as follows:- 1) the reception staff who checked us in was quite curt in handling our questions. When we found it difficult to understand her pronunciation, and asked to clarify, she seemed annoyed. This was our welcome gift !? 2) the level of English ESP in the front-end service staff is generally quite poor while the room service staff couldn't understand that we wanted more water as the bottles were not replenished. 3)the front desk staff were not consistent in the rules and regulations. Someone had told us that if we wanted to ask for more water during the day, we could come to the reception desk to ask and they will oblige if they have. However, at 36deg C today, when my daughter wanted to have a bottle of water and approached the front desk, the girl was adamant and only told us to obtain from the room. We explained at it was 12.30pm and the staff had still not cleaned our room and replenished the water. But she was quite rude and kept insisting that we could only obtain more water from the room itself. All over a bottle of water?? So why the inconsistency in the rules among the staff? Boils down to lack of service training!!! 4) after washing our swim suits and hanging it up on the rack in the bathroom yesterday, the staff that turned down our room put fresh towels on top of our wet swim suits!!!! So we wet 'fresh' towels. 5) we had the seafood buffet on a Saturday night. Although the selection was quite good, the food unfortunately was not very tasty. The much published lamb for examples was quite tasteless and the alcohol (Sangria/margarita) was one of the worst I have tasted. Hardly any taste. Overall, although the hotel itself was quite nice, the majority of the staff lacked proper training, communication/comprehensiveness and professionalism of the 5-star resort caliber (in terms of services). Looks like this will be our first and last time at this resort.
sThe resort went facilities were excellent together with the service and the friendly nature of the staff made for a very enjoyable stay .The staff went out of their way to provide that little bit of extra service.
Really enjoyed our stay in a suite, well worth the extra price, the stacker doors open up allowing the entire room become a balcony, lively on those sunsets when it cools. Pools were great, warm, but great. The staff added huge ice blocks and the kids loved it. Kids were put into kids club, 4 & 7 years old. This was to allow us to enjoy a massage ( which was great by the way ), during which the club had a baking activity (cookies, extra USD5 each) I said no thanks, plenty of other things for them to do. We finished our massage, sipping our tea, then noticed two kids tapping on the glass door out front, peaking in to see who was there. I realised, hang on, they're our kids! I asked why aren't you at kids club? When 7yo says, "they said we are doing baking so you can go back to your parents". Apparently the two were walking around the resort looking for us. Not good at all. Buffet was great, so to was the door service. My suggestion is that the pool house bar staff need to break up their sky larking when bored, it was intimidating to approach a closed circle when wanting to order a drink. Lastly, my boy cut his toe in the pool, unknown on what, not a big issue. But was very very impressed by the speed of service and concern of the pool attendants in providing first aid, even getting a nurse out to inspect, thank you. Later, we even noticed the team getting in the pool to search for the offending item, it showed they genuinely cared for our safety. Babysitting was USD$7 and hour for two kids! A lady stayed with them one evening while we went into town. Overall a great experience, an enjoyable stay.
