The Alcove Library Hotel

We stayed for a total of three nights in August while visiting Ho Chi Minh City. The hotel was very clean, the staff incredibly helpful and friendly. It is a little way out of the city, which meant it was far quieter than others nearer the centre. Although, it was easy enough, either to walk into the centre (around 30 minutes) or get a taxi which were very reasonable.

We were staying at The Alcove Library Hotel for 4 days and 3 nights. We got really great experiences and enjoyed the hotel very much. Literally, every single staff is very friendly and helpful. Speical thanks to the front desk staffs, they are being so helpful and provided lots of constructive travel information to us. Also, the breakfast that they made is really great. If I visit Ho Chi Minh City, I will definitely come back again.

A nice pretty hotel to stay at when in Ho Chi Minh. Excellent service from the staff, A good restaurant on the top floor for breakfast and lunch (Didn't try the dinner). Small lobby with many books! It almost reminded me of Beauty and the Beast (Just not that big). Room was nice and clean. Wifi worked fine. I wasn't a fan of the location. Not that much things to do in the general vicinity. Overall, I had a wonderful stay here. But once again, not a fan of the location.

Good location as it is near the airport but a little far from main city. Good for those who require A place for the night before a flight. Design in the lobby as seen from photos is quite exceptional. Design in the room was basic. It does its job to provide a place to stay. There was a slight damp smell when I entered the room but did not highlight this to staff as I was going to stay only for a few hours. Toilet is a little old. The breakfast was good though. Wide selection from an aka Carter menu.

We chose to stay at the Alcove Library Hotel our first night in Saigon because it was close to the airport, reasonably priced, and appealed to our love of libraries. I don't regret that decision at all. It was a little challenging for the taxi driver to find but once there, check in was smooth and quick, even at 11pm. The room was small, comfortable, and well-being appointed. Shower was clean. Do note that you cannot flush toilet paper but there is a bidet hose next to the toilet which is common here in VN. Breakfast is also a major plus with a small a la carte menu and fresh cooked Vietnamese food. We would have started another night if they had room! The only downside I would list is that it is somewhat far from city center. This made a difference for us since we often wanted to come back for showers or to rest between activities. If it's not an issue for you, I'd highly recommend the hotel.

It was a wonderful experience in alcove Libaray hotel, the receptionist and other service person are very kind and patient for us. Handsome guy was waiting us outside of entrance of hotel and helping to carry luggage when I got off the taxi. They always answer our questions very patiently even it's a small issue which is surprise Moreover, the establishment of hotel is completed and clean. This place with a lot of characters.

The hotel itself has a lovely light lounge area but this doesn't really flow through our room which felt a bit dark. On the first night our room felt quite dark and we only managed to get 2 hours sleep because despite the window being closed we could hear some repetitive chanting that lasted till 7am in the morning when we had to get up for an excursion - this suggested that maybe the windows could do with an upgrade. Apart from the above we generally enjoyed our stay and particularly loved the attentive and very welcoming members of staff. Breakfast on the top floor was lovely and this was during rainy season so imagine it must be breathtaking during the dry season.

Very nice place! It's a small establishment but has the same standard than a luxury chain hotel. Good service, good food for breakfast, comfortable, well decorated. I felt like at home! And you can easily take the bus from there to visit Saigon.

we hardly used the hotel. arrived very late at night (no dinner places open nearby) and left early in the morning. breakfast was served on time even though we had an early start. very punctual. rooms were a bit small for the price you pay. don't have much to write about, as I said, we just used the hotel for a night's sleep before our next flight

My wife and I stayed at the Alcove Library in November 2016 for three nights while visiting Ho Chi Minh for the first time. The hotel has comfortable and clean rooms, very friendly and helpful staff. The restaurant on site is very good! It has a beautiful patio overlooking the city! Breakfast early in the morning on the patio was our favorite time of day. The property is a calm oasis inside this insanely busy city!
