I stayed at this hotel for business in March 2018. The location is excellent - close to the major office buildings, close to numerous great restaurants and close to tourist spots should you have time. The rooftop pool/bar is incredible. I spent hours looking down over the river and roundabout with a cool drink in my hand. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I had the privilege of staying on the club level with access to their club, which was a treat. Free breakfast (cooked to order), free snacks and drinks throughout the day, and free appetizers and cocktails in the evenings. The lobby restaurant was also a delight - traditional Vietnamese dishes as well as comfort food from home. I'm making a return trip next month and have already booked my room.
It's my first time in HCMC and I have booked the Renaissance Riverside hotel with my Marriott points. The hotel is nice, very clean and all the staff very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and had everything I needed. The only thing negative things was that you have to plug in the hair dryer into the outlet on the desk to blow dry your hair and there was no mirror in sight... Strange location for the outlet. Otherwise the hotel is in a great location and the rooftop pool is very nice, although not many lounge chairs.
This is a decent if lower end of the range Renaissance hotel. The beds are large and comfy and service at the hotel as good as you will come to expect in Vietnam. Good restaurant and exec lounge are the highlights. Be warned , this hotel is on a very very busy road and rooms overlooking the river are very noisy with traffic and the associated constant honking of horns you get with this anywhere in Vietnam. There are a few quieter rooms at the back of the hotel. Roof top pool is nice, but very few sun loungers and no shade. The rooms are fairly good and large but very 1970's is and could do with a refresh pretty soon.
First time in HCMC and stayed at this hotel. Conveniently located and with restaurants and amenities within walking distance. Only about 30 minutes from the airport. Breakfast spread at the hotel is excellent. Hotel staff are extremely cheerful and friendly. The lounge at the hotel lobby is a great place to enjoy a drink at the end of the day.
Very helpful staff, great location. Khang was particularly helpful at the front desk. Navigators to help you get what you want to do - we booked two tours and I got a great referral for a place to get my hair cut. Beds were soft (the most key part of any Vietnamese hotel). Rooftop pool/bar were good but not the best in town, wonderful views from rooftop and our room. Shower was good. Slight plumbing issue with sink was resolved immediately and did not recur. Club level was nice, decent food offerings including pastries, omlettes to order, and espresso drinks in the AM; snack food with beer, wine and some liquor (make your own drinks, don't let the staff do it - they're helpful and eager but not bartenders). Would stay again.
We spent two nights at this lovely hotel as the start of our tour of Vietnam. The hotel is in a fantastic location with plenty of nearby bars and restaurants and within walking distance of the tourist attractions. The service was first class, we had a room with a fantastic view of the river and we received a lovely gift of a cheeseboard and wine for our thirtieth wedding anniversary which was very much appreciated. Wish we could have stayed another couple of nights!
We stayed at Renaissance Riverside Hotel for 3 nights in Ho Chi Minh City. The room was very comfortable with a wonderful view of the river from the 11th floor. Because we booked through Buffalo Tours we had full access to the Executive suite on the 18th Floor. Free buffet breakfast. This was nice but not as nice as other places we stayed. In the exec suite we had access to drinks (non-alcoholic) and snacks throughout the day 6am - midnight for free. Happy hour at 5.30pm with auderves and really nice hot and cold finger food and alcoholic drinks all included in our benefits at no cost. A great incentive and timely as we were on the last leg of our journey and the finances were getting low. Service was friendly and when our key didn’t work staff were quick to respond. We didn’t eat at the restaurant for dinner as preferred to try local cuisine. I would highly recommend with Exec Suite benefits 😌
I came with a party for 5 to enjoy Chinese food at Kabin Rest. It was amazing and art designated lobby. A fabulous front desk staffs and doormans who are willing and handle our concerns and show the way to the restaurant ( Ms. Chi & Ms. Kim). In addition, the chinese food was very nice and hot enough to serve at table with quick serving and friendly recommendation from the staff ( Ms. Trang & Ms. Tho - i dont remember exactly her name, even trainee) !! Excellent staff !!! Excellent food!!! Of course we will comeback.
I would have given it a 1 star if the buffet breakfast is not that great. I stayed in the hotel for 4 nights for business. The hotel is totally dated and smelly. I tried the massage and I got bruises all around my thigh the next day. Not to mention the masseur hand is not exactly... smooth and I am feeling so uncomfortable during the aromatic oil massage session. And to all conference organisers - the conference lunch is pretty bad. I dunno what I have eaten. I don’t want to be harsh here but for a person who travels quite a bit for work, this is one of the worst business hotel I have ever been to, and the price is not exactly cheap either......
Last time i stayed to this hotel was 2004, at that time was one of my favorite. City and hotel has changed, lobby has been renovated, room are still comfortable but not so fancy as the lobby. Location remains best part of this hotel. I had very good breakfast and staff very good and charming. Still top of my list.
