Renaissance Riverside Hotel Saigon4.5 out of 5.0

Renaissance suppose to give fun and vibrant feeling, which it did with the lobby. But the room is tired, and badly need renovated. It’s like an opposite feeling of what you get when you reach the lobby. Amenity is fairly basic, location is good, and the breakfast is fantastic. One down thing is that I booked a room through Marriott website “November campaign”, which supposedly give me 4pm late check out, and 2000 MR points. However, non of the staffs seem to know this promotion, and they refuse to give me late check out, even when I send a confirmation letter they still will not honor it. I would give this a three star, but the concierge team were really helpful, breakfast was great and the bed were very comfortable. So four it is!
The lobby is funky but the rooms are a little bit sad/outdated, though very clean. The staff keep things fresh and hopeful! The staff truely excel. Attentive and helpful bell-boys; professional Assistant Front Office Manager, Hoang Vy, who worked hard to find us a good room despite full occupancy and succeeded the next day, supported by a kind intern, Misaki, who chatted with my wife while I was checking in; a smiling housekeeper (Saki?) who spoke good English; and finally, the amazing Club Lounge team. The Club Lounge was so busy but the team, including Lin, Ang, and Trang (hope the spelling is correct), worked tirelessly to look after everyone. The lounge has great views of the river but isn't large in area, especially if the hotel is full. Go early to secure a table but be prepared to show common courtesy and share your big table when needed. The selection of food there is varied and of top quality...the chefs in all the culinary areas represented should be commended. This is a hotel to return to.
Great location with good views but overall the most disappointing hotel we stayed in Vietnam which was disappointing. The rooms need a makeover. Very tired and brown colours. Bathroom very poor with a shower in an old bath. Staff not great. They need more training in customer service. Not helpful and in one particular case at the roof top bar very unpleasant But the pool is lovely.
Perfectly placed for the shops, the river, and the amazing Bitexco tower block with views from the 51st floor. The hotel was comfortable, with great facilities, including a gymnasium and a rooftop pool and bar. A great place to familiarise yourself with the incredible Saigon
Personal are very professional and very friendly. I enjoyed my stay there. A place to stay. The club lounge is perfect, the food is excellent. A place to visit and stay, a lot of activity are available, pool, gym... Etc
I checked into this hotel upon arrival in Vietnam, jetlagged. From the moment I disembarked from my airport ride, the lobby staff jumped up to help me, taking charge of my luggage and checking me in quickly and efficiently. Everyone was friendly and welcoming. My entire stay, I never opened the door myself, the desk staff responded to any concerns, and the concierge arranged transportation and reservations for my traveling companion and me, not speaking Vietnamese, I had been worried that I might have problems, but all staff members understood my needs and definitely had my back. I was assigned a large room on the 11th floor facing the river. I was concerned that heavy traffic outside might be a noise problem, but it was quiet and relaxing in the room. Bed was comfortable, linens a crisp clean white, television channel choices include CNN, BBC news, and HBO. The spacious accommodations were clean and pleasant. WiFi worked easily, plenty of hot water from the tap, toiletries were present and their supply was restocked every day as was bottled drinking water. Every morning I was served a breakfast feast in the lobby restaurant. The buffet choices seemed endless and chosen to include a "normal" breakfast for every ethnic group, from Western style omlettes made to order to cereal, fresh fruit, yogurt, various sausages and bacon, to steamed potstickers, French pastries and croissants to vegetables, noodles and rice, cheeses--truly everything one could want. The coffee was great, and waitstaff attentively refilled my cup. Juices and bottled water were available, and the fresh coconut was delicious. What a pleasure to be able to try new foods, yet have my personal preferences available. Security was good, no one can access the elevator unless they have a room key. As I mentioned, the room view was impressive, but the view of Saigon from the pool on the 21st floor was jawdropping. The pool itself was refreshing and uncrowded. My entire stay couldn't have been improved in any way. I checked out a few days later, jetlagged cured and ready to take on my adventure across the country. Modern, beautiful, friendly, restful--a definite Renaissance experience. I highly recommend this hotel.
Foods in this hotels are very good. if you stay here, you must have something here! The restaurant at lobby floor gives very good views and wonderful foods. Executive lounge is well arranged by well-trained and kind staffs. Moreover, lounge is wonderful place to just stay in peace and have something! thanks.
From walking in to checking out, just an overall great experience. The staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel is in good shape and appearance. It is well located, and has all the amenities. Nice fitness center. Spa for massages. Pool. Roof top bar. Restaurants. The breakfast buffet in the executive lounge rivaled most full service breakfasts, and the main buffet breakfast has food for any taste. Almost too many choices. Very hard to eat just a little.
It's in the perfect location. Hotel is a bit aged. The staffs are very nice. The club lounge provides decent food. Breakfast is above average. I had Vietnamese Pho dozens time in different cities, the Pho provided during breakfast is simply the best. Will return if I have a chance to visit HCM city again.
This is a great hotel with great location and great service. I had no complaints and service and meals were amazing. The only issue is with the rooms design and interior - it is very old and the quality is questionable as for the hotel of this class.
