I stayed at this hotel with a group of friends on golf tour in Vietnam. It’s rated as 4 star and it just about gets there. The rooms I had were nice and the bed was comfortable. The shower worked and the water was hot. It’s just a bit tired. Also, the breakfast could be much better. Great value though and good location.
Me and Husband stayed at this hotel during our Ho Chi Minh city tour and we would give 5 stars rating for everything. Superb location as it’s just walking distance to the street food market which gives you amazing options to dine. Also the hotel is located in closer proximity to the Saigon square shopping center and Ben Thánh market which is good for value for money shopping. Saigon center is also walking distance which is an upper end shopping mall. You find circle k outlet which is a 24 hour opened shopping store as soon as you get out of the hotel to buy your necessities. Great location. Breakfast was good and had a good variety. And it’s not the same stuff you get everyday. You have enough and more options to fill the hungry tummies. The staff is amazingly good and very polite. They offered a very good service to us. Front desk to restaurant to housekeeping to what not, everyone was equally giving a remarkable customer service. And the rooms are very spacious clean and well maintained. We enjoyed our stay at this hotel and would stay there if we go to Ho Chi Minh again.
We stayed 2 nights at Golden Central Hotel in august. It wasn't what we expected. The room was very dark and small. Also we asked for a room high up to get as far away from the noise from the street and with a view, the building next to us, which we had a view over was renovating. So that wasn't very nice. The room said it had a bathtub. I wouldn't call a shower with high "walls" in the standing area a bathtub. I also got very disappointed on the breakfast. But the location was good. Near the food market, which EVERYONE should try. And the Ben Than-market. The staff was also helpful when it came to sightseeing. We booked the trip to Cu Chi Tunnels through them and it was a good trip.
After a 12 hour flight from London Heathrow, we were met by our guide and taken to this hotel for a 2-night stay. It was a welcoming sight. The hotel is beautiful in appearance and spotlessly clean, A welcoming sight. Our room was a good size and very comfortable Bathrobes provided as well as slippers and toiletries. The dining room is situated on the top floor with panoramic view of the city.t Staff pleasant and polite. The hotel is well situated in the heart of the city.
Stayed for 2 nights in 4* Star Luxury Hotel ,situated in the Heart of Ho chi Minh City, ideal for travellers for leisure or business for comforts pampered according to your purse. The Deluxe Room stayed was of classic decor, designed in modern style, very clean , with a large bed to put you in to deep slumber. The room fitted with latest technolgy in audio / video had free tea , coffee , mineral water, mini bar and sitting area to relax , read and chat. The toilet very clean, had shower cabinet , all toileteries , bath robes. Then the International buffet, morning breakfast, you name it - American, Continental or Eastern , oops .....mmm yum yum for taste buds, guests could enjoy lavishly. The restaurant on top had panoramic view of the city. Let me also express a sentimental opinion, that the European Hotels I had visited had not the supposed 4 * Hotel facilities and where we had to carry our own baggage to reception and pay for mineral water.
Stayed in this hotel for 3 nights, staff were friendly . Reception gave us a map which helped us navigate, this hotel is close to night food market with is fab we had oysters with passion fruit, crocodile stir fry met lots of other travellers here and exchanged tips , we visited remnants museum, shopping mall and the palace
The worst thing that can happen to a traveler is to book a supposed 4 star hotel only to find out it is not even a 2 star, I booked this hotel based on reviews ( which most be paid reviews) and will never get near it again. Rooms are shown to be spacious and clean, not true, Rooms are small and full of dust, AC is off when you come in to the room so you can smell the mildew when you first come in, AC is noisy and it does not make the room cold enough, the pillows are hard as a rock and so is the bed, the shower was designed people that are smaller than 3' and weight no more than 75 pounds. The free breakfast does not cater at all for anybody other than Vietnamese and Cantonese people. The windows are not sound proof and isn't the door, looking for a quiet room? No where to be found on this hotel. Staff is rude and always looking for money, lose your key and pay $7 per key. Spa not a family place at all don't go there unless you are not looking for a real spa. Overall a 2 star hotel at the most, do not believe on the pictures you see about the hotel.
I stayed at the Golden Central Hotel for 2 nights and went on a 4 day trip and returned for a further 3 nights. I have some issues with noises and etc but this was all resolved by a very apologetic guests relations manager Le Vinh who was a fantastic ambassador to the hotel and knows about customer care. As a result I returned for a further 3 nights stay after my tour around Vietnam. I have not met such an attentive guests relations manager who speaks great English and deserves to be a general manager of his own hotel. The rooms and the hotel was very clean and the bed was one of the best I have slept in with the crisp white bed sheets. If you can afford it go for the more expensive rooms on the higher floors where you can visually map out the area. The 15th floor restaurant also have a view to die for and if you have breakfast included you will be able to see the panoramic views of the city. Unfortunately I could not use the pool which was being refurbished but good for all others staying there now! The hotel is in an area which is very centrally located near Banh Than Market where there are over 1000 Market stalls and great for shopping cheap T shirts and etc. The backpackers food court is also sited nearby with all sorts of food which I ate there on numerous occasions and did not suffer from any sickness. Try the sugar cane drink with lime and lots of ice. My favourite. I would highly recommend this hotel if you are after a very good standard service and great value. Don't expect the Hilton, Sheraton standards but you get what you pay for. There's also an on site spa which I used late one night and it's great that the lift takes you up to your room without the travel back to your hotel. Teas and coffees with kettle also supplied with 2 free bottles of water.
I can’t fault this hotel for cleanliness, facility or comfort. Whilst I can understand certain reviews stating the rooms were a little dark I can understand this is part of the aesthetic. I would have happily stayed at this hotel again if it weren’t for the unprofessional nature provided by the staff in the spa on basement level. Whilst everybody from reception to room service were exceptionally kind and generous with their time, I was offended when offered inappropriate services by the massage therapist appointed to my massage. I am aware that this happens throughout some places, however never expected to be so offended by the offering and then anger from the the staff as I declined their ‘extra attention’. I won’t be staying again because of this experience, but wouldn’t deter others from giving this hotel a go. One word of caution, avoid the spa treatments if you want a wholesome experience.
The only thing good about this hotel is the location. Rooms are dark and walls incredibly thin so if you have noisy neighbours , or people talking whilst waiting for the lift, you are in for a miserable time. The single bed in our room was worse than a camp stretcher - appalling for a 4 star hotel. Would not have even been suitable for a child. When we asked for at least a mattress on the bed ( yes there was no mattress, only a thin badly worn topper pad) this was refused. Breakfast food that should have been hot was cold. Some staff were very nice but others simply looked miserable. Avoid this hotel, it is one of the worst in Vietnam. there are many better options eg Grand Silverland across the road.
