The positives: The location of the property in Coligny area was perfect for walking, biking and access to shopping, restaurants and the beach. Our unit faced the ocean; the balcony was perfect. The interior furniture and decor were very nice. Plenty of cookware, serve ware and dishes provided. Staff was responsive to requests; most were addressed.The challenges: It’s an older hotel, with older hotel issues. The pool was very small; no separate pool for adults. It appeared property upkeep is not regular. The vertical blinds on the sliding doors were in shambles and unusable. The bathtub/shower drained so slowly that we showered in ankle deep used water. The toilet handle inside the tank broke, so it was manual flushing until fixed the next day. The light bulb in the exterior entry fixture in dark exterior hall was out and never remedied. A secondary chain lock on the door had no chain, but was fixed same day. The bedroom was very small, had no closet, and no room to store suitcases once unpacked. My husband lived out of his suitcase in the kitchen. Prepare to pack light or put suitcases back in your vehicle. The bedroom didn’t get A/C as well as the rest of the unit, so the ceiling fan was necessary. Finally, strict instructions are given that the door lock code would stop working at 10:00am on checkout day. Ours stopped working at 9:00am when we were packing up the car, and moving in and out of the unit. We expected more from a HHI oceanfront offering.
