First, we wanted a room close to the Ohio RenFaire, for 3 nights at a reasonable price. Wilmington Inn met the criteria--20 mins from the Faire, easy to find, decent, clean room at an affordable price. Understand, we did not want the Hampton, nor did we want a fleabag. We had no complaints, save a noisy ac unit the first night. BUT...this is not the Hampton. I gave this Inn 5 stars based on the kind of motel it is--room was older but clean. Staff all friendly and helpful. Micro and fridge in the room--clean and comfortable. Near to a couple restaurants and a pleasant area of town. I spent $265 for three nights--would do it again if we return to the Faire.

We stayed 3 nights at the Wilmington Inn, 909 Fife Ave, Wilmington, Ohio in Oct. 2016. The room was small, could not get past chair at desk. Water pressure was minimal, not enough to wash my hair. The bed spreads had holes in them; and best of all, I came home with bed bug bites on my arms, hands, neck and face.

Went in for my nephew's wedding, the staff was awesome in getting us all together and the room was clean and smelled great, the beds were very comfortable as well, the room did have a mini-fridge and microwave in there as well. Overall it was a great stay, I would recommend.

Down here to see family and the only motel available was this one, the outside of the building was dirty and the parking lot was disgusting with cigarette butts, the motel room door would not lock until you lifted it up. The room was clean but the pillows were disgusting as they were like sleeping on newspaper as they were very thin and worn out. I see why they only charge a small price because this is not a very well maintained property. Will not stay here again unless it is most necessary.

I did not stay there for more than the time to see the room disaster. The options for review only presume one stayed for a nite etc. Avoid this place for your health. My sister and I went to another hotel.

Front desk was nice and accommodating. Clean room. Flat screen TV for picky folks. Microwave and fridge. Bed was not a pillow top but comfortable. They offered two bars of soap but there was no little packets or bottles of shampoo. Usually would not be a problem but it was an unexpected stay and would have been nice to have at least the cheap little packet available. Also the toilet handle was very loose and you had to hold it down a minute til the toilet flushed. For $70 a night it was almost perfect!!

The night desk person wasn't rude, just a little cold, almost like I was disturbing her. The morning person was a smidgen warmer. The room was clean and smelled fresh. Breakfast was sparse (even for Continental). Overall--an O.K. place.

Simple, no frills hotel. Great room for the money. Could definitely use some updating, like new shower heads and newer decor and bedding. Simple breakfast, pastries, cereal, and bagels. There are several restaurants literally steps away. We found this really convenient since we had a few beers at the Damon's Grill and didn't have to worry about driving; just walked across the parking lot. Staff was super friendly and helpful. It's a nice little town too. Check out the Ceasers Flea Market on Sat and Sun if your into that. Tanger Outlet mall is also just a few exits north on 71 and is an excellent shopping experience. NO bugs in our room. It was a fairly clean decent room and 1/2 the price of the nearby holidAy inn. Wilmington is about a 5 minute drive from I 71, but the drive was definitely worth the savings.

Our family of three stayed at the Wilmington Inn on Friday night for a family gathering in town on Saturday. Couldn't check in until 2am, which was no problem; they have a separate door for late night check-ins. The motel is located near a busy intersection, and shares a parking lot with several shops and restaurants, We booked through Hotwire and were given smoking room with two double beds. Was initially concerned about it being a smoking room, as I suffer from allergies, and am usually very sensitive to cigarette smoke; however, the room had been well-cleaned, did not smell overtly of smoke, and with the A/C unit and bathroom fan running to keep constant airflow, I was not bothered at all. The furnishings in our room were more modern than the photos on this site, with a flat screen TV. The bedspread was older, with a few burn marks, and the furniture had some nicks in it, but, apart from that, it was well-kept. If you want plush, look elsewhere, but if you just need somewhere to sleep for a night or two at a decent price (our rate was $50/night, $65 after tax,) the Wilmington Inn fits the bill. Would consider staying here again. (I can't comment on their breakfast offerings, as we did not partake.)

the only thing clean here was my get-away. The table in front of the A/C unit fell apart when it was moved to check the unit. The A/C unit had ice inside, and the webs and dust must have been pre Cenozoic. The furnishings were old and dingy.
