I really recommend this hotel for a stay in Herakleion. Very good location. The rooms are good size is ok not too big but good enough. Bed very confortable. The breakfast is in the restaurant it has a beautiful view on the port and buffet was excellent!
I wanted an affordable hotel near the ferry port (to leave early the next morning) and drop off my rental car nearby. So this option came up. Forget about parking. It was a nightmare. The hotel is primarely a residential apartment building adapted to a hotel back in the 80s Once you get into a room it shows... do not expect modernities. But it wasn't that bad and at least it was clean. Breakfast and included dinner option were quite nice (with a great port view) So for 97€ bed + breakfast + dinner in July I would say it is not a dream come true but no nightmare either.
One night in Heraklion : Very kind people welcomes you. Room clean and without sounds from outside. Hotel close to downtown and the port : 5-10 minutes walking. Huge salt and sweet breakfast. To book with the room. Beautiful watch on the port taking the breakfast.
We stayed two nights in this hotel, situated in the centre of Heraklion. Everything is written already. Yes it's oldfashioned (decoration 90's/00's), but consider the price you will pay compared with the location and especially the breakfast! On the rooftop they'll serve an excellent breakfast with eggs, fruit, cake, bread, sausages etc. And the breakfast is with a view at the 6th floor overlooking the port of Heraklion. Within two minutes you will find all the shops, restaurants, bars and Venetian port. To the airport is 5 km. Staff was friendly. Room with a large balcony. Excellent free wifi and airconditioning! Tv is old with some Greek and one international channel (Euronews). You can park nearby in a guarded garage for a special rate ( 7 euro for 24 hrs). Roomservice and minibar available.
I stayed at Marin Dream in September 2015, and liked it enough to return July 2017, with a friend. The hotel is clean, has good amenities, and is convenient to all sorts of places (the port, 25 August Street shops and thoroughfare, and Knossos is only a 10 Euro taxi away). The convenience of having a large breakfast buffet is nice, too. I realize that in America we have great access to things like soymilk, which, as a vegan, I use a lot of, and would love to recommend to them to keep a liter on hand for guests who require it, but I don't know about its availability in Heraklion. Luckily, my friend and I had a carton we bought in Naxos and brought with us. Perhaps, if us vegans contacted them ahead of time and asked, they'd seek out soymilk to have available for breakfast. The hotel is very clean, and the lobby is relaxing. There is a computer to use to look up anything you wish. The room had a mini-fridge, which was great for storing leftovers (and our soymilk). We did have a small issue with our room air conditioner leaking, but that was taken care of quickly, and certainly nothing to fault them for (things break - it happens!). We were a little disappointed that the dinner options in the hotel didn't have much promise for vegans, but with the large array of nearby restaurants, that wasn't a problem. The desk clerk even steered us to an amazing restaurant that met our dietary needs, and that we liked so much we returned to have lunch one of the other days we were there.
This really is a lovely location. We were very close to the museum and squares and it was easy to walk to . Our room was on the top floor and overlooked the Venetian port which was magic for us.It was our first night in Crete and the view made up for the long journey to get there. I found the front daytime staff helpful especially because this is a hard place to get to as it is surrounded by one way streets and there is no parking. He let us pull into a spot while we offloaded our luggage. The parking is about four blocks away which does not sound far until you start hauling your luggage. I thought the breakfast was plentiful with a lot of options compared to the fare we had the rest of the journey. Note: We only stayed for one night.
Good location at the harbour.Friendly, helpful staff, brilliant breakfast buffet on the 6th floor with a magnificent sea/harbour view. Rooms were of expected standard according to price, specifically we worshipped that the room was quiet despite its location in the center og Heraklion.
A very nice, simple city hotel in a very good location. Just 5 min. from the city center with the cafes, restaurants, nice shops, and night life. Right next to the port. The hotel is in a quiet street, beautiful view of the castle and the big boats. Stuff was very kind and helpful in everything we asked. The room was very clean, nice and simple. Breakfast was very rich, more than we expected. Wi fi in the room was slow and only close to the entrance was ok. Good value, we would choose this hotel again.
Unacceptable service, room cleanliness unacceptable, night watch behavior, ironic and rude. Breakfast not good without variety. I'm sure I will not visit this hotel again on Crete. Access from harbor good, but do not deserve any money.
We stayed for 1 night during an island hopping trip and this hotel was perfect for what we needed. A 10 minute walk from the port with helpful staff. We had a sea view room which was great for watching the ferries come in. Rooms are spacious but a little dated. They are very clean though and we slept really well as the bed was comfortable and room was quiet. Breakfast was adequate and the price more than reasonable.
