First, I have to thank the hotel staff, mrs Hrisoula, mr Nontas and mr Kostas for their kindness and precious advice as concerns the places of interest both in Irakleio and around the city. I also have to mention that they helped us find two nice taverns for the Christmas and New year's eve; without their help, it would have been impossible as everywhere it was booked long before. As concerns the location of the hotel, it is one of the best in Irakleio, as it is close to the center, it is very quiet, very clean thanks to the cleaning staff ; the rooms are comfortable and some have an great view on the old Venetian port and the fortress. To say nothing of the abundant, tasteful breakfast and the unforgetable view from the 5th floor on the old Venetian port. Having a cup of coffee in the morning at the top floor is an extraordinary experience. Thanks a lot CORNILIA -COSTAS KLIAFAS 31.12.2017
This hotel is well located in the centre of Heraklion within walking distance to the old fort and waterfront where there are nice places to sit have a drink a bite to eat and just watch all the activity of this busy port. There is no onsite parking but a spot can be arranged at a nearby parking station for a daily fee. Our room (409) was quite small but had a very nice balcony with a view of the fort. The hotel elevator is very small..only fits 3 people at a time. (there were four of us) The breakfast was very good with a large choice of food and a great view of the harbour and fort from the 6th floor restaurant.
Good breakfast in the upper terrace . Clean room but not too big. The location of the Hotel is very good, walking distance of all the important places around this city. Could go again any time. People at the reception are ready to help with information and good advice. Be confident to use them
Friendly personnel, nice room, good breakfast, daily room cleaning service. The view from the restaurant is magnificent. Had a problem with the TV in my room but was fixed immediately. Only syggestion that maybe the restaurant could open earlier to accomodate people who leave early. Would definitely recommend it!
We selected this hotel because of its proximity to the port. It was an easy walk with our luggage from the port to the hotel. We were pleasantly surprised with the room. Although not large, the floors and furniture looked new. There was a small quiet refrigerator. The bathroom had been recently updated and had a very good shower and a real hair dryer. However, the TV was an old model and there was only one english channel (EuroNews). Breakfast was good and we enjoyed the view over the port while eating. We would recommend this hotel.
This hotel is located close to the port and 10 min walk to the city center. Our room had a nice view to the Venetian Fort, it was clean and comfortable. Wi-fi was fast and the staff helpful. The breakfast was excellent, with traditional cretan products and a lovely seaview.
A late arrival at the airport necessitated a conveniently nearby hotel. We were efficiently picked up at the airport by a taxi organised by the hotel and advised courteously by reception where to get a meal nearby at this late hour. Breakfast was taken in a rooftop restaurant with a fine view of the sea and the port. We were near enough to the city to take a waking tour of the city sites and later near enough to pick up a bus for the 15minute trip to the Palace of Knossos. Rooms were clean and comfortable and staff efficient and pleasant . Breakfast was adequate but not so exciting as the view.
Stayed here for, I think, 6 days as single traveler. Room was fine - clean bath, etc. but no view [nor did I expect one]. Breakfast was more than generous in their rooftop dining room, with sweeping view of harbor. Location is easy walking to ferry and bus connections, and just down street from the exceptionally friendly tennis club, which welcomes transients like myself. I also rented bike for most of stay, which I was able to put each nite in a back storage room off street. All the staff were helpful and engaging about any questions regarding sites, beaches, bus connections, etc. Certainly a thumbs up!
The best things about Marin Dream hotel are its location (next to bus station and city center) and breakfast (good variety and beautiful view). I guess we got a bit unlucky with the room, as it was facing the windows across the street so it was impossible to open the balcony door for some daylight. It’s fairly clean but not spotless, the décor dated, as well as the TV. The bathroom was very small and had an odd smell. The elevator is also small, can only fit 2 people with luggage. Service is moderately friendly at the reception, very good at breakfast area. Overall, I feel that the price should have been much lower than what we paid for the type of accommodation we got. This hotel is OK for a short stay when you are not planning to spend much time in the room, unless you choose sea view.
I really recommend this hotel for a stay in Herakleion. Very good location. The rooms are good size is ok not too big but good enough. Bed very confortable. The breakfast is in the restaurant it has a beautiful view on the port and buffet was excellent!
