These apartments are situated pretty high above Hersonissos and when we were dropped off there was a bit of a hill to climb with our suitcases - word of warning if you are in a wheelchair or have small children with you! But once we got up to the apartments I think the view was definitley worth it! All of the staff are so helpful and friendly. They take the time to chat to you and find out how your trip is going. The food and drinks in the apartments bar are good and very reasonably priced! If you venture out of the apartments, a short walk down the hill will bring you to Piskopiano where there is a huge selection of bars, restaurants and shops. If you want to go a bit further it's about a 20 minutes walk down the hill to the beach and seafront, where there are even more bars and restaurants. A taxi back up the hill to the apartment will cost you about 7 euros. There isn't anything that I could fault about this holiday, except maybe the lack of sunbeds one morning. You really need to be up and ready to go before 8am to be sure of getting a sunbed, especially if you are planning to be by the pool all day!
The apartments are clean and tidy and nicely furnished. The maid service is excellent - full service each day except Sunday. Breakfasts are very nice and other food and drinks are very good also. Location is as stated around 20 mins walk from beach so we hired a moped and went further down the coast towards Agios Nickolas. Piskopiano village is a lot bigger than we thought, with many restaurants and bars within ten minutes walk. Lots of beautiful roof terraces, seafood and cocktails. There's a lovely atmosphere at Amazones, very chilled out and relaxed. The staff are very helpful- I've found the Cretian people to be the most hospitable and friendly. There was a nice mix of people staying at the apartments, all nationalities and ages, families, older folk and younger people. We went to the water park - Water City just twenty mins away and some caves in Pyscho also not far by car. The best trip for uswas the Malia boat cruise - €25 for a 5 hour day, sea swimming, free BBQ and wine for lunch, an hour in the village of Sissi and a final trip back with Raki and fresh fruit. Would absolutely recommend Amazones, a perfect relaxing break in a beautiful apartment with amazing views and perfect pool.
Another wonderful stay at Amazones, it felt like coming home! From the moment we walked into reception we were welcomed as friends. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and the air conditioning kept them lovely and cool at night. We had a great time at the BBQ night! George, Kim, Nikos and all the other staff work so hard and nothing is too much trouble, their main priority is to make sure everyone has a great holiday. When you stay make sure to have a few drinks and a chat at the bar, Nikos will make sure you're looked after. Well done everyone, I can't wait to return!

My husband and I went 20th to 27th June 2017, the only down side to our visit was that the bus drops you off at the end of the road, about 500 yards +, as it was our first trip here and in the dark about 11.30 pm, we were told by the minibus driver to walk up this road and we were a little shocked to say the least, my suitcase had been broken in transit and was an uphill walk. Anyway as I say this was the only downside. When we arrived Nikos greeted us along with the night manager, Manus, who took our cases to our room, then we went and had a nice cool beer. We booked bed and breakfast, which was 8.30 to 10.30, which consisted of boiled egg one day/scrambled the next, with cold meat and cheese, chopped tomato. Toast and jams etc, cereal and milk, yogurt and honey, fresh fruit, fruit juice, tea and coffee. Not the biggest selection but enjoyable for most. We had a BBQ on the Tuesday evening which we enjoyed, and the returning Saturday had a meal before being picked up which was nice. But round and about there were loads of restaurants where we had brilliant meals and lots of wine! So the apartment.. we love it, kitchen area, suitable for self catering, including everything except a corkscrew lol, so buy screw top bottles or take your own, lounge area with tv and patio doors overlooking the bay and sea, bathroom, with bath and shower over it, and a king size bed, which was comfy, and lots of storage. Pool area was nice and clean, sunbeds and brollys ok, although if everyone staying at the complex did stay round the pool all day I'm not quite sure if there would be enough. We explored every day but one so didn't matter to us. The staff we're really great, welcoming and friendly, George one of the owners... he has eyelashes women would envy! Lol was really nice, there everyday, and his mum every morning, then young Kim who was there through the day, behind the bar and serving food, nikos came in the afternoon through to evening. We really enjoyed staying here, the only thing I would say is if your not very mobile it would be a bit of a problem, there's steps and slopes all around which are unavoidable, but we will certainly come here again!
Stayed at Amazones for a week in June. Fabulous location if you have no walking issues. The staff are wonderful and work very hard to ensure you have a pleasant stay. The complex is spotless as are the apartments. Pool area is lovely with magnificent sea views. We will definitely be returning.
Lovely apartments smashing staff, helpful and friendly, good amenities, but be warned is on a steep hill, lots of steps up to property from village, also either fairly steep road or lots more steps to most apartments,if you are elderly or have problem walking or have a baby buggy ,you may find this difficult, especially in the heat.
This place is a real Gem! I took my girlfriend here for a weeks holiday and I'm so impressed! The staff are nice and friendly! The night guy there Nikos (I'm spelling that wrong sorry!) he just makes the place! And will make you one hell of a good cocktail! It's easy to get around and have local shops and restaurants very close by! The the best part is the views by the pool! I've got not a single bad thing I can say about this place! And myself and girlfriend will definitely be coming back same time next year
