Holiday Inn Helsinki City Centre

Really liked this hotel. Was only here for one day, but loved it. Breakfast is pricey- 20 Euros. But you cannot beat the location. Walked to Hop on Hop off bus (and boat tours). Near lovely park and harbor. Lots of cafes and restaurants near by. Loved Helsinki. IHG members are treated very well.

Is a nice hotel, very good location and good price.

The Holiday Inn in Helsinki City center is perhaps one of the most convenient places to stay if you travel by train and connect to an early flight. Literally a stone's cast from the central station, the hotel is only few hundred feet from the Finnair bus to the Helsinki-Vantaa airport. While taxis are convenient and fun, paying little over 6 euros for a bus surely beats ~40 euros for a cab if you are on a budget. Also, restaurant Vlatava across the square from the hotel serves a nice dinner, especially if you climb up to the bistro avoiding thus the pub crowd. Hotel is tidy, modern, and without extra gimmicks. Faithful to the (Northern) European standards, rooms are not spacious but meet the modest needs perfectly.

The location was excellent, staff great, free access to computers and internet was really nice.

Best location if travel by plane or train. Bring your own shampoo!!

Best location in Helsinki!! Finnair bus from airport will bring you to hotel entrance.

Safe. Clean. Comfortable. What's else one need....

We found the place neat and comfortable, the staff courteous and capable, and the location was perfect. We were somewhere between sightseeing and shopping mode and it was easy walking distance to the train station, waterfront market, the Sunday flea markets, and the shopping streets - the people ferries to Suomenlinna and the beautiful edifaces. Under the same conditions we would certainly make this hotel a first choice.

Stayed in executive room. Very comfortable. Staff on Reception staff lovely , very friendly and helpful. Excellent English. Room service too limited time available and restaurant expensive. Lots of cafes and good restaurants nearby. Internet free but very slow ! Sauna clean and small . No one there so good to relax . The bus and boat tours a must. Ask the staff. Hotel beside bus station ( bus to airport few steps away and cheap ) and rail station.

Great stay- nicer building than what you would expect from a Holiday Inn- very nice architecture. Clean rooms with everything you would expect. Very good breakfast. Central location with great access to the airport. But takes off 50 meters from the front door for 5 euros.

I know this hotel before and that is why I came back

The hotel is very good, the rooms were very clean and the location was the best for our trip. People at the reception desk were warm and very helpful. I definitly wood go back there.

We arrived in Helsinki not knowing we were there at the time of the midsummer festival celebrating the summer solstice. The Holiday Inn is located next to the train station in the city center. Needless to say, the town was nearly empty and most commercial enterprises were closed. The central location of the Holiday Inn allowed us to tour the city without a lot of trouble. The nearly empty streets and transportation vehicles made it easy to get from place to place, and walking was almost effortless as there was no significant traffic to deal with. The hotel staff was short handed but very accommodating and conscientious. The room was attractive and clean and the lobby was welcoming without being intimidating. Later, as the city sprang back to life, the noise traffic and congestion returned and things returned to normal.

A very comfortable hotel across from the train station in center city. Walking distance from restaurants, shopping and all of the sights. We were able to leave our hotel and be on board our train in ten minutes.

I highly recommend the Holiday Inn in Helsinki. It is a new hotel, so it is very modern and clean. It looks very Scandinavian. The rooms are good sized and comfortable. The staff is friendly, and there is a business center with free use of the internet, which is great. The hotel is also right next to the train station, so it is very convienient. There is an airport shuttle bus that picks up and drops off practically right outside the hotel that is run run by Finnair. Its also very handy if you are taking the train to another part of Finland. Also, its within easy walking distance of the park where all of the tours depart. And for places that are further than walking distance, the city buses depart from almost right outside the hotel. We never had to take a taxi anywhere. The hotel is also much more affordable than many of the other familiar chain hotels. The location is better too. The only negative is that breakfast is not included. They have a wonderful buffet, but you must pay extra. However, since the price of the hotel is much less, you will still probably come out ahead. Or, there is a McDonalds and a market very close by with very inexpensive breakfast options.
