I stayed here for one night. The staff was really friendly and helpful, the breakfast was good and the location is good as well. You can walk here from the main station. The hotel is modern and free wifi is available throughout the building. Unfortunately I received a room on 5th floor whichs ceiling is really low. Due to the slope of the roof I was only able to stand upright in the bathroom and on one side if the bed. It was even not possible to use the chair as the ceiling was blocking me from sitting there. Rooms on other floors might not have that problem. For sleeping a few hours and having a good breakfast afterwards this hotel is recommendable, even if the price was too high in my eyes.
A busy hotel, but welcoming and dog friendly. Well placed with a park across the road for dog walking, restaurants and cafés close at hand. Our room overlooked the park and Rathaus, and was not overly noisy even with the windows open. We were in Hannover when the annual 'fair' was taking place for the week at Maschsee/Maschpark with lots of stalls and food. An excellent few days sightseeing.
I chose the Hotel Mercure Hannover City based on its proximity to Public Transport and Sightseeing places. And I was not disappointed. The bus stop "Rathaus/Bleichenstraße" is right outside the hotel and you can easily get there from the City Center Railway Station (Hauptbahnhof) if you are arriving by train in 4-5 minutes. You would need to take the Bus 100 from the Hannover Kropke Station which is few hundred meters from the station. Alternatively you can also take the U-Bahn (Metro) from Hannover Hauptbahnhof to Hannover Aegidientorplatz which is about 10-15 min walk away from the hotel. Speaking about the Hotel itself, it does not look very special from the outside, but the interiors are a different matter. The bar "Relax" in the lobby is very well designed and inviting. Although, I visited the hotel in July 2017 when the adjacent Restautrant is being renovated. So the restaurant was closed, but the bar had some snacks and some pre-fixed menu options to eat for lunch and/or dinner. We only had lunch there on the day we arrived and we did not like one of the dishes that was served. The Sandwich that I had ordered was very good though. The breakfast is served everyday from 06:30-10:30 (weekdays), extending to 11:30 on weekends. It is very good spread of coninental breakfast items. Since the restaurant is closed for renovation, it was served to us in a meeting room on the ground floor. It was still a nice atmosphere and we enjoyed the various delicacies on offer. We had booked a special room called "MyRoom by Eileen & Madeleine" which was one of the special rooms prepared by the staff according to their taste. It was a so called Ladies room I had ordered to pamper my wife and it did satisfy my wife. One disappointment was that the room had a twin mattress and not a double bed mattress. So was a little difficult to sleep as we were a couple. But I was told that every room in the hotel is the same and all double rooms have a double bed but twin separate mattresses on top. So we did not let it disappoint us. All the relevant and most important sightseeing areas are close to the hotel. The "Neue Rathaus" or New Town Hall is right opposite the hotel and the other sightseeing areas can be visited easily on foot. This was great as we wanted to relax as well as sight see. So it worked out very nicely for us. As an Le Club Accor Silver member, I was able to check in early and also got a late check out. This was very much appreciated and I am sure I will be returning to this hotel if I am ever in Hannover again.
I have gone to this hotel over the last two decades. It was usually a decent and rewarding experience. No frills, but a clean room with everything working. This time, the first actually after its renovation, I experienced prices almost twice its previous level and an attention to maintenance worthy of a 1 or 2 star hotel. First, there was a problem with the hot water; then today my room wasn't even made up. Also, the renovation, which was supposed to propel the establishment into the 21st century, appeared fragmented. Overall, a very disappointing experience this time.
Little walking distance from the Central station, the Kropke market, but well maintained Hotel. The bed was comfortable for a good night sleep. Breakfast had a good spread , with nice fresh juice options.
Very modern inside after the refresh. Great breakfast and friendly staff. Its a bit outside the city center and a short walk to the nearest underground station, but this gives you the advantage of a quieter more relaxed stay with nicer views.
Nice location , helpful people, clean and handy specially for those who planning to visit Hannover exhibition But make sure you get early booking to get better room rate as mine was very costly due to exhibition
The hotel is located in right in the city center, the rooms are spacious and the service is excellent. Despite the central location ist is very easy to find a free parking spot right in front of the hotel. It was simply the best hotel experience I had in Hannover.
I stayed for 2 days in business. Since I have a gold card I got a very nice room with a lot of nice girly stuff: Iron to flat your hair, cotton balls, fresh flowers,... and water and goodies :-) The employees are very nice and the breakfast was good.
We were in this hotel for 3 nights during a trade show. Hotel is small but location is excellent. Rooms are reasonably sized. Bed was comfortable and heating was quite good. Internet connection was a breeze. Room was clean and had no issues. Breakfast exceeded expectations. They have a full buffet and would specially make eggs the way you want it. The best thing about this place is the service. Very customer focused service. They got me a taxi at 4 AM, no issues. There were four in our group and everyone was happy with this hotel.
