The Dragon Hotel Hangzhou5.0 out of 5.0

Stayed here during a short visit to Hangzhou in April 2017. Though the exterior wouldn't suggest as much, this was a peerless establishment within - the rooms, food, and hotel facilities were simply second to none. The fare on offer in the main dining area was, perhaps, too good and all within walking distance of West Lake. Highly recommended.
Stayed here for 2 nights. The hotel is consisted of towers which are connected at the bottom. In the middle there’s this beautiful chinese garden but the doors were closed so we couldn’t go inside. Our room was quite small... a little different from what we expected but it was clean. The bathroom was the smallest part. The biggest problem with the bathroom was the shower which was unmovable. You know what I mean. The toilets didn’t have a washing device. I mean these days there are a lot of people wanting to wash themselves after using the toilet. And also there’s this strange mirror like cabinet door located exactly in-front of the toilet which I could open and it lead me to a whole where all the water pipes were in AND IT WAS KINDA DANGEROUS! I think they shouldn’t put things like this in these kind of places and these doors really should not be opened. About the breakfast... well it wasn’t bad but there were still lots of things we couldn’t eat and it was getting repetitive for us but I don’t have any complains. Anyways it was a good stay in the hotel it was only 15 mins walk to mcdonald’s, kfc, walmart etc.
hotel is located very close to the park when you have a helicopter. the problem is a big tall mountain between the park and the hotel. you need to take a taxi to go around the mountain staff does not speak English at all waiting time at check in and check out is very long dining in the hotel in the evening is almost impossible: one restaurant serves only small dishes and deserts, the Spanish restaurant serves strange items, the lobby serves only drinks and cakes, room service the same. at the end I had to order from Mcdonalds lobby is nice and has a nice atmosphere
No issue with reservation made on Expedia for 3 rooms. Entire stay was non eventful and pleasant Checkin was a breeze and they even allowed 3 rooms to be checked in at different time as others in my party did not arrive until later We did not try the breakfast buffet in the hotel (it is pricey) however we do prefer local street eatery (5 min walk) Walk to 西湖 is 20-30 minutes on average. Taxi costs about 12 RMB so bring change as they can't break 100 RMB bill as we found out checkout was straight forward
I was traveling to Hangzhou for a weekend during peaking time, Dragon Boat festival. My local friend recommended me this hotel, hotel is very good in terms of location and product. Location is very close to West Lake and hotel facilities are good and I even like their indoor pool, however, don't expect service. If you are not expecting any service, I would still recommend this hotel. The bed is good with excellent bedding.
Equivalent to a four season, this is an awesome hotel in the heart of Hangzhou. The staff is wonderful to work with and the breakfast has anything imaginable. The beds are the most comfortable I've ever experienced at a hotel.
The hotel is quite nice. Room size are ok not what I would expect from a five star hotel. It has a beautiful garden. The staff are helpful however not very trained always providing wrong information or different answer each time I ask front desk for check in or check out related questions. I would give it the worst business center I have ever been to. I booked a meeting room and paid up front prior using. I have arrived at the meeting room to find out that it has not been setup nor the AC was on. Maintanance were walking in and out the room while we were in the meeting. The waitress would ask the guest to help them selfs if they need coffee and tea and did not want to serve them. The customers hosted by our company were sweating heavily because the AC was off, even the rooms were very hot although I complained several times about the temperature they would open the central AC then close it after sometime. After asking some of the hotel local staff they said that the AC was off to save on power bill. Really sad from a "5 star" hotel. In addition, I have paid extra for a projector to be set up unfortunately they did not do set it up prior our meeting we had to wait for 1 hour an a half for some staff to arrive and serve us, and when he came he asked to borrow our computer as the five star hotel has no computer to set up the projector. They did only charge me half the bill but that was only when I requested to see the hotel manager and let him see by his own eyes the terrible service. He as well was sweating heavily. After screaming and yelling they changed the room to another room. So disappointing as I was told they did not have any rooms available and only this room was available. Never again will I enter this hotel even if it is my brother or sisters wedding.
This hotel feels that it is aimed mainly at Chinese business guests and conference attendees who I am sure will find it excellent but proved to be a difficult short stay for a ‘Western’ tourist visiting the sights in Hangzhou. Few staff were able to communicate in English away from reception. The location is remote from main tourist sights, you cannot easily walk to any and also there is nothing nearby such as a restaurant so you have to eat at the hotel which proved difficult. The public areas and gardens are impressive but the basic room was average for the hotel grading. Breakfast buffet works OK but dinner was problematical. There is not an a la carte menu available and the mainly seafood buffet (at $80+ USD) had very limited ‘Asian’ or ‘Western’ alternatives available, it proved to be an extremely disappointing and expensive meal. Room service menu looked unappetising; there is however a ‘Spanish’ style restaurant on site which has a la carte tapas style dishes available.
This hotel is jist like a peace of heaven. Very very beautiful garden, such a lovely environment, cool, cozy, comfortable, huge, and a real 5* luxury. Awesome rooms with suitable size, peofessional staffs, very well located, great access, lots of shopping malls, restaurants and other attractions. Gorgeous breakfast, lovely pool, SPA, suana, Jacuzzi, Gym, freen internet anywhere in hotel, nice lobby, various restaurats, bars and etc. I Do Recommend This Hotel for all those who wants to enjoy their stay in Hangzu.
There's a tourist dispatch center nearby, so you could see how convenient its location is. Right near the West Lake. It's really big. When you call a cab you need to tell them which gate to pick you up: the east or the west gate, which are located at different streets - the Hotel itself is a whole block. A standard room is spacious enough, and clean enough, with convenient facilities. I like their breakfast: there are plenty of western and Chinese options.
