Vacation Village in the Berkshires

3.0 out of 5.0

Rooms are large and come with kitchens so perfect for extended stays and skiing at Jiminy Peak. The rules are different than a regular hotel for instance they don't clean your rooms everyday and only offer coffee packets for 1 day so make sure to load up at a grocery store. Pool is great and kids had a lot of fun.

On the positive side, the property is well laid out and the pools are nice. On the downside, these ‘condos’ are very overpriced. In addition, they charge you a resort fee when you arrive so you can rent DVDs, which they may or may not have, from the lobby. They even charge you for ping pong balls! There are no onsite restaurants but they tell everyone when you check in that you are a ‘VIP’ and you are therefore entitled to a free breakfast or lunch at another hotel 20 mins away. Turns out this lunch consists of sandwiches from Panera or someplace similar. And they won’t let you eat until after the normal crowds die down- 930 am or 1 pm. Overall disappointing and quite a distance from the heart of the Berkshires.

Very happy with the accommodations. Already planning on a return trip with my kids

We were checked in and in our room in under 10 minutes....I had a really enjoyable weekend with no stress at all. I will definitely be going back to this place.

Great week of exploring the Mohawk Trail sights and a few antique shops.

Go every year to hear the BSO. We have stayed here for the past 3 or 4 years and will be back next year. Lovel, clean, large rooms in a well maintained area

The outdoor lighting was so bright, along with slatted window blinds, meant that it was possible to read at night in my room even without any indoor lighting Needless to say, such bright lighting interfered with sleep. The outdoor lighting completely detracted from being in the country; one might as well be in the big city

We stay there when we skii. The last room we got, on the weekend of 3/17 was upsetting. It was in Building 5 and although it was clean, the room showed signs of age. The tile in the bathroom was moving and the whole bathroom needed to be regrouted. Needed a paint job. You could tell the furniture was worn and used. etc etc/

Great facility as far as cleanliness and pet friendly, but they do charge $125 just to bring the pet...also didn't tell me about a $100 hold fee on my card until after they swiped it through. Rooms are very clean, but are very outdated along with the overall look of the resort it definitely feels like a mid 90's vibe. I like the more modern look but if you are ok with that then go for it!

Easy check in, great rooms, clean and comfortable!

Great stay. Very close to Jiminy Peak. We will stay here again.

We have stayed at Vacation Village several times now, and always find it to be a good value during the high summer season in the Berkshires. Love the location in the middle of the hills, between key attraction sites one does have to drive to reach the good attractions, but no more than 20 miles each.

It is a very nice family vacation venue, especially for going skiiing at Jiminy peak. Overall very satisfied. The full size kitchen (I believe available in every unit) is very friendly for family. But because there is not a close grocery store, you may have to bring some if there is any plan for cooking things. Parking can get a bit crowded at night, so that it may require a little walking to your unit as there is no guarantee of finding a spot right next to your building.

We didn't realize that Vacation Village is a time share community, mostly a ski resort, of various sized apartments. Our small space had a sitting room with a flat screen TV and a bedroom with the same and a decently equipped small kitchen. We had to pay $10 for wifi and it wasn't worth it it worked very poorly. This is NOT a hotel with hotel amenities like a restaurant or shop. But for a family vacation it would be great. I recommended it to my daughter and would return for Tanglewood or The Clark or MassMoca. I'd be better prepared next time with a few provisions.

A bit of a drive from tanglewood but worth the trip. The place was lovely and the rooms wonderful.Nice pools both indoors and outside.we will be back next year.

All Great! Would request a top floor next time. Could hear those walking above us load and clear.

Great experience, clean, comfortable but hard to manipulate if handicapped or single woman. No help available and lots of walking. Entrance to building a but confusing at first. Tub shower hard for older folks. But room very nice, albeit have to take out your own garbage...new task for me. Price was right. But could use a little shop for things forgotten or snacks etc

Really enjoyed our stay. Peaceful and quiet in our corner unit on the upper floor. The accommodations were great with all the comforts of home. Situated on a hill with spectacular views. We had fun at the indoor pool and managed to get in a morning workout at the gym. Looking forward to making a return visit soon.
