I booked this property for three nights but had to check out after only a few hours because it was uninhabitable. The unit was filthy, some kind of animal hair was everywhere (on the roll-out bed, couch, chair, rug, sheets, and floors), and had a terrible odor. It was completely unsafe and unsanitary for my family with two small children. I have photos and videos to prove it.I reported the issue to the owner through the Vrbo messaging system, but instead of responding there, he called me directly on my cell. On the phone, he admitted his cleaners hadn’t done their job and told me he would cancel the booking—but only over the phone, so it wouldn’t show up in the Vrbo messaging system where the Vrbo staff could see it. Despite my repeated requests, he NEVER canceled the booking properly. Instead, he issued only a partial manual refund, leaving me without the full refund I’m owed.When I called Vrbo support, they confirmed the owner should have canceled the booking and that what he did was against procedure to avoid penalties. To make matters worse, he later claimed we left a mess in his apartment, with no repentance for how we were forced to leave at midnight with two kids and scramble to find a hotel, then move again the next day on our special trip.This experience caused enormous stress, wasted time, and extra expense. This is not the first time we stayed at a Vrbo property. It was by far the worst experience we’ve ever had. I strongly recommend avoiding this property.
