Stayed here for one night with a friend. Choose this hotel due to its location and the location to the car park in the quays. The hotel is easy to find and the receptionist who checked us in was really helpful. The room we were given seemed to be one for a wheelchair user as it had a wet room and all other facilities needed. The air con wouldn't work when we set it, followed instructions and nothing, we then went out took keycard out of wall and when we returned the air con was on, put card back in and it went off- seems to be wired in back to front. The breakfast was lovely and everything that was needed was there. I would stay again even if the room was a bit overpriced for what we got.
Deasapointed the hotel is well located in gunwarf but that's all. Staff not too efficient. We had a problem twice with the badge. It was my fault understand that I have keys coins in my bag. Rooms are not properly cleaned. My son as dropped so coffee on his sheets. The sheets were changed 3 days after before our departure. Vacuum is not correctly passed in the whole room. Bathroom and toilets are just clean without any product so not a fresh perfum. And the breakfast is so poor and not of quality. Really can't say that I've enjoyed my stay.
I stayed at the Holiday Inn Portsmouth for 1 night to be close to the harbour. The hotel is in a great location of Gunwharf Quays which includes lots of shops, designer outlet stores, bars and restaurants. Jamie's Italian is right next door and you have a whole load of other places a 2 minute walk. Room was clean and comfortable and the wifi was free for the whole stay. Breakfast was also good with a good choice of food. Would definitely recommend this hotel.
I only stayed one night, but for a short stay this hotel is centrally located within Gunwharf Quays and offers a comfortable stay. Check-in was swift and efficient. The receptionist was very friendly, asking if we'd been there before and whether we needed any help etc. The rooms are a decent size, clean and provide most facilities. Free tea/coffee, flat screen tv and large shower. The rooms could do with an iron/ironing board without having to ask. The beds are very comfortable, I slept like a log. Breakfast is buffet/canteen style with a plastic tray, but the options available are very impressive. Everything was fresh and the hot food was served hot. Friendly staff and efficient. Would consider staying again for a short stay.
This is a good choice for people vacationing in Portsmouth. It is a clean, newer hotel, with a good staff, very friendly and helpful. The room was good-sized with a view. Quiet. The beds were comfortable with extra pillows. Parking is in the underground area that also serves the shopping center. There are plenty of parking spaces, and the hotel gives you 24 hours worth of parking for 2 pounds. Lots of restaurants, shops and sightseeing within walking distance.
We only stayed for one night before going on a cruise from Southampton. Very good location for shopping and restaurants in Gunwharf Quays. Perfectly nice hotel; room was clean and spacious. Nice bar and good breakfast buffet. Will stay again if in the area
I had an awful experience booking this hotel as I filtered by free cancellation and mistakenly booked a non refundable room. When I asked to change the dates, neither booking.com nor the hotel manager would allow me to do this. To add insult to injury the hotel manager did say he would change the date knowing full well he had no availability on the day needed. I asked to transfer my booking to another hotel and they refused. I even asked for a credit note to use at another time and they refused. Both booking.com and IHG /Holiday Inn Portsmouth were willing to let me lose £345 for the 3 family rooms. Rather than lose the money my family and I decided to stay there and had to book a different hotel for the night before. The family rooms cramped (certainly not big enough for 4, barely big enough for 2) and rooms were noisy (even on the 3rd floor). Breakfast area was small and busy, bar prices were extortionate at £7 for a glass of wine and over £5 for a beer. Kids lemonade was over £2. The car park is the same used for the shops so took over 20 mins to get in and longer to find a space. The lifts to get to and from the rooms were really slow. The whole place could do with a refit. Don't stay here and don't book through booking.com as, if anything goes wrong they don't help you.
Clean rooms, extremely comfortable bed, fresh breakfast- great location for what we wanted. Car parking ticket stamped at reception, so you only pay £2 per day after free 24 hours. Only negative was trying to call reception before we arrived to ask about parking!
Booked through the IHG app requested a top floor and early check in arrived at 13.15. Was told no rooms ready yet. Me that's fine then was told I'd be on 1st floor cause I booked an accesable room which I didn't so. Now have to watch out not to pull the red emergency cord. But otherwise everything OK reception staff had smiles on faces room was OK breakfast was brilliant this was my 5th stay here and booked in again for a night in July.
The location was great , rooms were good size bathroom needs some work . The staff were all lovely food good not a great big choice but everything was really nice & clean .was quite at night bed was really comfortable will be staying again had a great time you can walk to everything from here
