Stayed for one night before catching the ferry to Spain, lovely hotel ,room clean no more than I expect from a Holiday Inn ,breakfast plentiful, staff amazing, also booked our car into car park next door through the hotel only £2 a day we paid £14 for 7 nights bargain, will definitely stay again,
Stayed here for two nights and had a great time. Hotel very well situated for the shops and Spinnaker Tower which is a must. Tip, book an afternoon tea for £55 and get a reserved table with fantastic views and admission. But back to the hotel, the staff are amazing so helpful and pleasant and quick to help, including the young lady who changed all the batteries in the door when the key wouldn't work. However all staff deserve a mention that were on duty 12th and 13th October. Well done and congrats to Holiday Inn Experess for yet another great hotel.
This hotel is located in an entertainment plaza filled with restaurants, shops and a cinema. The Spinnaker Tower is located here and is a few minutes walking distance away. Rooms are clean and modern. Noise from outside does tend to filter in on the lower floors.
We arrived here after a nine hour journey from Scotland but were checked in quickly and politely and felt comfortable immediately. Had a quick walk around Gunwharf Quays and a glass of wine before going out to one of the many nearby restaurants. Slept well in a comfortable, quiet room. Breakfast in the morning was fine. Spent the day going round most of the very interesting local attractions, ate at another nearby restaurant and left the next morning. The parking was perfect and we look forward to staying here again in the Spring.
This hotel was a short walk from the rail station and from the historic harbor museums. It is also located adjacent to a nice shopping and dining area right by the water so there were tons of places to go for dinner. Staff were very friendly. Room was fine.
This hotel is located within walking distance of just about everything in Porstmouth. The rooms are large and quiet at night. Good breakfast in the morning with good amount of food. The guest services were helpful with advice on sightseeing.
Stayed here on a weekend away to visit the Portsmouth Dockyard attractions. It is conveniently situated a short walk from the Dockyard and railway station, and literally moments away from lots of restaurants and bars. Also lots of shops in the location, if shopping is your "thing". Simple, pleasant, clean hotel - wouldn't hesitate to go again.
Stayed here for one night with my husband Very disappointed with this basic hotel Can only guess it is so overpriced as its in an excellent location No complementary smellies in the bathroom just shower gel dispenser attached to the wall.. Normally in other leading establishments you get shampoo conditioner shower gel and soap.. Shame as it was very expensive .. Could have stayed at the ibis down the road for three nights for the same price as we paid for one night ..
Stayed 2 nights at the Holiday Inn Express in Gunwharf, Portsmouth and I would certainly stay again. Very attentive staff and always happy to help. A special mention to Luke who dealt with our booking over the phone, very polite. The hotel boasts being right in the heart of Gunwharf and on the first night offers free parking and only 2 pounds for the second night. The added bonus was breakfast was included. After comparing other hotels in and around the area I would say this hotel offers the best value for money.
Wanted to visit the Spinnaker Tower. Needed to stay overnight and in the end chose here to stay. Very central to the quayside and Spinnaker Tower. Parking too was a plus. First 24hrs free then £2 for every 24hrs. Not private though, multi-story car park. Not cheap though but understandable considering where you are. Room and hotel was clean and tidy. Breakfast included in stay which we didn't partake on the second morning as not great. Staff very friendly and I would consider if ever to go to Portsmouth again.
