We visited at the end of November for 3 nights in the superior garden room, with its own little patio which would be great in better weather. The check in was welcoming, with a car valet available and a friendly receptionist. Breakfast was superb with attentive waiters and a lovely relaxed atmosphere and we had meals in the Cambium twice as we thought the food was of Michelin quality. Also, the spa was pleasant and a few steps away from our ground floor room. The room service was second to none, with my awkward hubby asking for softer pillows and getting them in minutes. The supersized king was so comfy and we loved returning to the restaurant and bar for cocktails each evening. We shall return as there is lots to do within a drive away; i.e.Lepe Beach (D-Day embarkments) and horse riding in the forest.
Lovely well appointed room, the spa was perfect at the end of a long drive and the log fire in the lounge was a welcome sight. This why we were so disappointed to find that the restaurant that we had traveled to eat in was full. We have never before come across a hotel that can't seat its guests in its restaurant. If you get caught out we recommend The Huntsman's 5 mins walk down the road.
I booked Careys Manor as a surprise for my husbands birthday - from the minute we arrived we had fantastic service. Our room wasn't ready so we went for a drive and had lunch returning later. Ray parked our car and showed us round - so helpful and pleasant. We chose an Oakwood Garden room which was extremely comfortable, with a terrace overlooking the gardens - we really will return to take advantage of this when the weather is better! The service we received throughout was first-class - we enjoyed a pre-dinner drink in the bar before being shown to a wonderful table - the only thing that spoilt our meal was the main course which was Cod in pancetta - we both felt it was undercooked - this was mentioned and an offer of another meal was made, but we declined, deciding to try one of the wonderful deserts and we were not disappointed! After a very comfortable night we had breakfast where the service again was excellent - so good to have decent coffee and fresh orange juice! There was a good selection of everything you could possibly wish for - we could have easily, if time had permitted, stayed longer and eaten even more!! On paying the bill,my husband mentioned the disappointment of the main course the previous evening and the cost of the meals was taken off our bill - we thought this was excellent customer service and a very good gesture which we really were not expecting. We will definitely return, but we will stay longer next time.
From the moment we arrived we completely relaxed into the fantastic surroundings and perfect setting. The staff were very welcoming and attentive, and remembered us from our last stay. Absolutely outstanding from start to finish! I'm going back in April 18! The cambium restaurant is highly recommended; the staff are outstanding: the maitra d'hotel, Fran was v attentive, David superb on the first night, Michael a fantastic sommelier and Anna, well she's just the icing on the cake! The food was good too LoL. The spa facilities were used throughout, and our treatments were just the business! Abigail ensured our stay was a great success, and we look forward to our next visit. We wish you all a Happy Christmas and a fantastic New Year!
We spent two nights here in November to celebrate my husband's 70th birthday . The welcome was warm despite temperatures being somewhat cooler thanks to a village wide gas power cut . The staff were exemplary , the food in both restaurants we visited and at breakfast was excellent . We didn't simple the spa because we were warned it was cold due to the the effects of a power cut . We will return !
Just had two nights - as always everything was perfect. Lovely room - great restaurants and service and superb Spa. My favourite Hotel - always a pleasure to stay there. So relaxing. I love all the Spa facilities and the staff are so polite and friendly.
Stayed one night at the hotel and attended a Christmas function. The hotel staff were all very helpful and we had a great time with good friends. Everyone commented that the food was great and the rooms were fantastic.
We arrived at Careys Manor for a two day break . Unfortunately there had been a incident with a gas & water pipe outside of the hotel. This had affected them and other hotels and homes in the area. We were told immediately what had happened , and kept updated during our stay . Only 2 restaurants were available and the pool was out of action. But we were allowed to go into the hydrotherapy area free of charge. Susi on reception couldn't be more welcoming , as also was Sophie. We stayed in the main house with a four poster bed, everything we would need was in the room. The downstairs lounge was lovely with plenty of comfy chairs & sofas and a huge open fire, plenty of up to date magazines to read. The bar area was pleasant to sit and have a pre dinner drink. The Christmas decorations were being completed on our day of arrival which added to our visit. We ate in the Cambrium restaurant on the first night and the food was excellent. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice . The next evening we had food at the bar. I had a facial & my husband a massage during our stay. They weren't cheap but excellent and relaxing. Our trip was soon over. All the staff that we encountered were friendly & helpful. We would definitely come to Careys Manor again . Thank you .
Back for a two day break for my 70th birthday, very restful time and a very warm welcome from the staff. This hotel is always our base when we visit the New Forest in a very convenient postion also close to the station with plenty of parking and three resturants. All three resturants are very good but our favorite is the French Resturant. Full marks to the Hotel and Staff a major water main failed also caused damaged to the gas main in the village/main road causing services to be cut off, we were very impressed in the way the hotel dealt with this difficult issue and kept customers up to date. See you 2018.
My sister and her partner treated us to a weekend break as a birthday celebration. Located in the New Forest the hotel offers relaxing accomodation, excellent dining and spa facilities as well as easy access to the forest for exploration/country walks. A Champagne afternoon tea on arrival was enjoyed in front of the open fire in the delightful lounge before heading off to explore the award winning Spa facilities. Over the three days the four of us took advantage of all the facilities including treatments in the Spa and ate in two restaurants including the fine dining restaurant and the French Brasserie. The service from the staff in all departments was exemplary starting and ending with a smooth check in/check out. This is definitely a Spa hotel we will return to and look forward to enjoying a wider range of treatments. I recommend booking of Spa treatments at the time of booking accomodation as these do get booked up quite quickly thus limiting availability.
