My wife and I stayed for two nights on a dinner/B&B package, I would not recommend this package as there is no discount for including dinner, £40 is merely added to the account, far better for to book B&B giving the option of arranging dinner at the hotel or at one of the nearby restaurants. On the first night we dined in the Zen restaurant and ordered the £40 Thai tasting menu which was excellent . On the second night we dined in the Cambriian restaraunt, in my view rather overated, service was very slow, no table cloths etc., Whilst the food , when it arrived, was tasty It was by no means plentiful. The Spa facilitues are the excellent and recommended. Our bedroom was rather small and tired e,g window frames needed painting. Staff were very few riendly and accommodating - overall and enjoyable whilst not an exceptional two days.
Hotel well situated for exploration of new forest or for the coast. Rooms are comfortable but a bit tired, especially the bathrooms which are in need of modernisation. We enjoyed a terrace which was nice but the decking needs some basic cleaning/maintenance. The Cambium restaurant was excellent - good selection of food and interesting selection of wines, particularly New World wines. Le Blaireau restaurant was average and I will avoid in future. Breakfast is good but service can be slow. Staff are friendly and accommodating and quick to put things right. Unfortunately, other than a dip in the pool, we weren't able to make much use of the Spa. I would certainly stay here again when down this way.
Wandering through Brockenhurst we wanted to stop somewhere 'nice' for a relaxing coffee as opposed to the myriad of disappointing places which you find in this country. We went into their outdoor restaurant area and found a very welcoming chap who found us a table and delivered two well made lattes - he even moved un umbrella for us when the typical British weather made itself known. This looks a really nice place and we intend to return to the hotel sometime.
Utterly beautiful hotel with excellent facilities. This was our second visit to Carey's manor for a spa treat as mother and daughter and it really does warrant a great review. Every member of staff we encountered was attentive and friendly and the SenSpa is the perfect place to unwind. Breakfast was included and was excellent, we ate dinner in the Zen Garden restaurant which was also excellent along with the service. They really have thought of everything. We were allocated a double room which as mother and daughter wasn't really ideal and it was no trouble at all to change. Massage was fantastic. As people who don't normally spend a lot on this sort of a treat, I can confirm that every penny spent is totally worth it. Cannot reccommend enough.
Purchased a spa break for my daughter and me to distract her from waiting for her A level results. The package included room, use of spa and breakfast and a treatment per person. We had s lovely twin room overlooking the garden. I noticed some rooms overlooked the car park so would be worth checking this when you book if it is important to you. Overall it was very good value. The spa therapists we had were excellent and professional to a high standard; probably the best I've encountered in the UK. The food in the zen garden was very good though the evening menu vegetarian options lacked imagination. The restaurant staff were top notch; nothing was too much trouble. The spa facilities were very good. Not quite to Nirvana Spa standard but quite good. Only complaint was the main pool was small and as usual people were inconsiderate about sunbed use and there was no attempt to manage this. Very nice touch to receive a bottle of Prosecco in our room when we arrived. Gorgeous relaxation facilities, quiet and peaceful. Also the website said that Thai Pajamas were provided and this was not the case. It would have been nice to have something dry to change into for lunch in the restaurant and dry relaxation areas so I suggest maybe bring some very light day clothes. Most people dined in their robe and slippers in the day which was fine but slightly uncomfortable if you are wet from the pools.
We stayed here for a birthday treat and we had a lovely welcome. Everything was checked and explained to us by a very helpful lady on reception . We chose this hotel as the spa had such good reviews and I had been told how lovely it was but I could not fault the whole experience here. I wanted to treat my partner to a really good massage for his birthday and he said it was amazing. I waited in the spa and I nearly fell asleep on the mosaic heated beds within the hour he was having the massage!! The hydrotherapy pool is lovely,I currently have an injury and I have not felt so relaxed for months so that is a definite plus point as to how good this spa is. We did not want to leave the pool but had to go for our meal in the Zen garden. This was exceptional, lovely food and very polite and friendly staff. Our stay ended with a very nice buffet breakfast the next morning, again the staff were very polite and the service was very good. I had also changed the reservation details a few days before and this was dealt with very easily and with good communication prior to our arrival. I am already looking forward to my next visit to the spa, which hopefully will be soon as I think it may be my new treat to myself.
The experience and the soft approachable made us very welcome. The staff were very accommodating and did everything to make our stay very satisfying. The spa facilities were top-notch and we've felt so relaxed. My partner had her first full body massage and she thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you so much.
Fell in love as soon as I saw Carey's I knew it was for me . I got married here in July and had the perfect wedding despite the weather. The staff were friendly ,helpful and made sure we had the perfect day. The food was excellent we had afternoon tea and a buffet in the evening. In house Dj kept us dancing all night. The rooms are not cheap but are clean and spacious with everything you need.
We selected the Hotel through a mix of reviews and availability. We chose a garden room as there were wedding parties both Friday and Saturday and we were told they can be a bit boisterous.. Lovely hotel but no grounds to walk in (but you are in the middle of the New Forest so this isn't a big deal). The room was nice, although tiny niggles at this price level - we found an empty chocolate box in the drawer and the TV operation was a bit hit and miss to operate. We ate in the Thai restaurant (excellent) and the main restaurant (good but not exceptional). I'm just over six foot tall and the shower head in the bath was at chest height..I prefer a dedicated shower cubicle, but the bathroom was perfectly OK in all other respects if a little dated. The pool was very good, although there were towels littered everywhere - busy Spa so perhaps to be expected. Breakfast was excellent, but lots of uncleared tables - consequence of busy wedding parties and it didn't detract. On the Saturday night guests in the upstairs room were shouting, swearing and seemingly re arranging all the furniture until about 1am, very annoying. So how did the hotel deal with the little problems we had? Here the hotel excelled. Nothing too much trouble. They dealt with the noisy guests upstairs quickly and discounted the room price (we didn't have to ask). The manager was much more annoyed than us about the chocolate box in the drawer and full of apologies. We were provided a fridge when we asked if we could have a bottle chilled, and told the TV's are being upgraded in all the rooms as part of an ongoing revamp. Little things go wrong all the time, especially in bigger hotels dealing with a wide variety of people and events, how they deal with the issues is key and for this I give them 5 stars. Steve
Our overnight stay was lovely , the spa treatments I had were the best I have had . The facial and full body massage were outstanding . The room was clean and well stocked. Staff were efficient and friendly. The pool was adequate but limited space to sit around it , the hydrotherapy pool was nice but very dark and some of the showers there needed some refurbishment. Overall a very pleasant stay and I would definitely return .
