Just be aware they are doing renovation on the 3rd floor , dust, smell and workmen We were never told this on booking or checkin . The toilet smell form each room stinks . Such a Loverly way to start your day on the way to breakfast And the noise at 7am. Do expect a sleep in Not what I expected from Novotel sad 😢 when I mentioned to reception They had nothing to say just we are doing renovation. Why would you put paying guests on the same floor as renovation Never again . Upset Accor member
My family and I quite enjoyed our one night stay, our room was really clean and tidy and the location was great as it was central to everything. The buffet breakfast was good too. We will definitely return when we are in the area next.
We stayed two nights at Novotel Tainui as it was convenient to the Waitomo Glow Worm Caves and Hobbiton. We liked that it was close to restaurants and the River Walk. We liked that we could valet park the car at a reasonable price and service was efficient. Catherine at the reception desk was very helpful and we appreciated her assistance. Breakfast was adequate. The decor is minimalist, but the bed was comfy. Unfortunately, the bathroom is ridiculously small even though it was recently remodeled. There is construction on the third floor, but it did not interfere with our stay except that the laundry room was in the middle of the construction area on the third floor. Very nice that laundry facilities are available. Our room was on the River Walk side but the view of the river is obstructed with trees. That said, it was very quiet.
A very busy hotel. Check in was great and fast. My room was on he top floor and didn't have much of a view. But that was ok as I wasn't there for the view. Staff were very accommodating which was great. While waiting for my room I had lunch in the cafe downstairs. I ordered the steak which was slightly fatty sadly. I ordered a coffee in a takeaway cup. Served in a glass. Attention to detail is needed in this case. Bed was very comfortable but room was noisy. Was nice having a bath, shame the plumbing was so loud when emptying. Overall quite pricey for what ultimately is a basic hotel.
This hotel is very average. Bathrooms very dated, no shower cap and old towels. No coffee machine. Room had a stale smell. Vastly overpriced at $340 per night! Breakfast only average. But worst was the service. Had to hunt for a staff member at breakfast to take a coffee order. One person on checkout at 8.30am. No taxis, they had to be ordered. Hamilton, surely you can do better than this?!
Novotels are good because you can be fairly certain of what to expect. This was the case here with comfortable but generic rooms. Staff were welcoming and efficient, although they did try and sting me for minibar items when I hadn't used any, so be careful when checking out. The big minus for this property is the construction work underway on the bathrooms. I booked using the Accor App and there was no mention of any work being carried out. The hotel is placing guests in rooms immediately adjacent to those being refurbished and the work in the room directly above me started before 8am. No point having a comfortable room if it's too noisy to stay in! On checkout they apologised and waived the valet parking charges but that was it. IMO - until the construction work is completed this hotel is best avoided.
The hotel is centrally located in Hamilton. Rooms are spacious, modern and clean. The bed had a comfortable mattress. Rooms are quite and even if facing the street do not have noise pollution coming from the street. The restaurant in the hotel is decent and serves nice food. Hotel staff is friendly and helpful. Only negative is that parking is not included and you have to spend between 10 to 20 dollars per night you park your car at or around the hotel.
I have stayed in Novotel Hotel for two nights and it was pleasant stay. The hotel is located in central of Hamilton city near the Victoria street and vEry near to the river crossing the city. The hotel is sarounded by a nice commercial area with lots of restaurants and shops on the Victoria street. The two big hyper markets are also very closed by.
Modern, clean facility. Very friendly and helpful front of house staff. Rooms above average. We came to Hamilton to meet and host a celebrity Dame of New Zealand. Our PA made a restaurant reservation for dinner several days before our arrival. It was confirmed. At the last moment the hotel called cancelling the reservation saying the restaurant was not available. We then had to find a last minute alternative which proved impossible. On our arrival, we were advised that there was a large sporting team at the hotel and no meals were available for other guests. This despite the fact that we had prepaid breakfasts. We were directed to another hotel within walking distance for meals. A quality hotel would NEVER overbook to the disadvantage of other guests.
I have stayed in this hotel on a few different occasions, every time it has been for the same event which is located in the Sky City hotel, which is located right next to the hotel. The service has always been awesome, the staff always have a smile on their face no matter what department they are in. Which is awesome to see from a hotel. I have enjoyed everything to do with this hotel, the rooms are always very clean and tidy, and even then they had to cater for one more person - which they provided me with a rollaway bed. Very good of them since i didn't actually inform them of this until i moved in.
