Although this was one of the Crown Plaza properties i enjoyed the least in Israel, it is still a great property with wonderful staff, great location and decent facilities. Room was modern and clean and house keeping met expectations. The pool and adjacent areas were a bit grim but the property is on the older side and due to the topography of the area isnt well suited for an outdoor pool with related landscaping and amenities.
Came for two nights, no breakfast or food at all. Room is comfortable, very clean. View to the harbour is breathtaking, specially at night. It is close to all the attraction on Mount Cramel. Even in the hottest day you can enjoy a breeze and natural air conditioning. Pity the hotel has no sea-front lobby or a tarrace to sit and enjoy the scenery.
Once you've got your head around entering the hotel on the ninth floor, you start realising that the views from the hotel across Haifa are excellent. On Sunny mornings it was a pleasure to open the curtains and spend a few minutes taking in the scenery. Much of the rest of the hotel I would consider average and fitting for a hotel of standing. Where the hotel is slipping is food and service. The restaurant is no longer open in the evenings. This leaves the bar as the only in-hotel option... the menu is lacking, and even then some options were off. Getting a seat is a bit hit and miss. And there was only on server, so things can take a while. And worse still, one night the bar had no beer... My advice: plan meals away from the hotel. There is a reasonable place across the street. Breakfast is a let down. The staff were sullen and generally unhelpful. On the good side, there's a reasonable selection covering most people's tastes. Verdict: I've stayed here before... I am let down by the way the hotel has gone downhill - my next visit to Haifa I will be staying elsewhere.
The Crowne Plaza chain is a well established brand and one which I have enjoyed on other occasions. As an experienced traveler who has stayed in hotels across all continents I have to say that my recent visit to the Crowne Plaza Haifa was unsatisfactory for a number of reasons. The check-in time at the hotel is already a fairly late one, 3pm, this basically means that a day/night at the hotel can never actually be that. I.e. it will always amount to 21 hours. Factor in then arriving at 3pm to be told that your room isn't ready....After a delay of an hour we arrived at our room to find a massive cot placed in our 'deluxe double room', suffice to say the size of the 'deluxe' offering is somewhat altered by this unrequested item. Needless to say we asked to have the cot removed, this never happened and we simply wheeled it out ourselves... The television in our room was also faulty, when we complained about this a technician was sent right away. He arrived and decided that the problem was with the broadcasters, not our TV...this was of course hilarious given that the channels were spread across the world (CNN, BBC, Local channels) all of them were faulty... the technician generally expected us to accept this entirely implausible reasoning and to be honest we didn't have the energy to argue the case. This Crowne Plaza also falls down in terms of detailing. It's generally accepted that a room will hav a bottle or water or two, it's pretty much a given. Factor in we are talking about Israel in the height of summer, 30+ degrees and this just exacerbate matters. The room itself was clean but way below the standards I have come to expect from this high-end chain, especially given the per night price.
We were at this hotel before, and enjoyed returning this time- they have renovated the elevators and the rooms which made the stay really good. For a family of six the suite is a good option - 2 bedrooms and a living room with an open couch. Rooms are not too fancy, but clean and have a great view of sea. The staff are really nice. The food was very good and fresh ( we had breakfast and dinner there) and all the kids found something they like to eat. The sea shore is 3 minutes walk from the pool, clean beach with life saver service during the day time.
This is a nice hotel in a very beautiful area with breathtaking views. The staff was pleasant especially Natalie in the front desk and my favorite doorman ever Amir. The room was comfortable but the bathroom needed some more thorough cleaning. The restaurant is nice but breakfast was pricey.
We stayed at this hotel very recently. The rooms were very nice, well appointed with comfortable beds. The hotel staff were excellent and really went the extra mile to help us. I would like to make mention of Maria who was especially helpful. The breakfast had a very good selection and was more than adequate. We also had Shabbat dinner there, which we found to be excellent with a huge selection to suit all tastes. Shabbat lunch is also arranged but it is at a hotel very close by. The location of the hotel is great as you can walk just a few hundred meters to shops and restaurants. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in the Carmel area.
Our room was nice. The hotel is kind of small and the pool is indoors only and small so if you want to go with your kids so they can play in a pool, this is not the right place for you. The dinner Friday night and breakfast on Saturday was excellent. In the food I had no complaints at all. Smoked salmon at breakfast and there was duck and lamb at dinner, all very tasty.
Despite a fully booked Hotel, i asked Naama at the front desk to check quite late and she did her best to accommodate my request with a great smile. Overall facilities are good, great view over Haifa and a walking distance from the Baha'i gardens, bar and restaurant
This was our 3rd time at this hotel. The rooms are nice with good amenities. The breakfast buffet is fabulous. The location is good. The staff are friendly and helpful. We really appreciate what a great job Maria does!!
