The hotel left fruit, chocolates and sparkling water upon our arrival. We used the dishes and utensils provided and drank the water. After maid service the following morning, we found the dishes, utensils and empty bottles remaining on the table. Furthermore, the bathroom was not cleaned. Only the bed was made. I called the front desk to have the dishes removed and left. When I returned, all the remaining fruit and chocolate were removed and the table was not cleaned. I called again inquiring about the fruit and chocolate and they said they didn’t know I would want it. I had to call again to have the bathroom cleaned. Similar experience in Dan Panorama in Tel Aviv — room not cleaned properly.
We had an event to attend in Haifa and decided to stay overnight. I chose the Dan Carmel as I had fond memories of this place from a while back when I stayed there for business. I booked 2 rooms for the 5 of us and I am happy to say that it is still a wonderful hotel. There is a parking facility for a small fee with elevators that go straight up to the hotel so it's very convenient. The lobby was clean and smelled fresh, the front desk staff were pleasant and professional, check in was fast. The corridors were spotlessly clean and well lit. The rooms were really nice. I was happy to see that we had a connecting door which made it a lot easier with our toddler. The beds were very comfortable, the furnishing all in good order and clean, the bathroom was spotless and had a very nice selection of toiletries. The WiFi was fast and the TV had a good selection of channels. We had lunch in the room, the food arrived quickly and was very tasty. In the evening we sat in the lobby and had drinks and cakes and it was all very nice and relaxing. After a very comfortable night we went down to a delicious breakfast with a wide variety of nicely presented and tasty hot & cold food. The coffee was really good, the omelettes nicely made and the bread was all fresh. After breakfast we played in the garden that sported an amazing view of the bay and port. All in all this was a really enjoyable stay, at a reasonable price for such a nice hotel. If you need stay in Haifa this is definitely the place to stay. We can't wait to go back.
Situated right on top of mount carmel the hotel is situated very well. Get an excellent view of Haifa harbour from both sides and some also of the Bahai gardens. Comfortable rooms and could walk to many restaurants.
This hotel was entirely different that the affiliate in Jerusalem. The rooms were wonderful. The staff was professional but not quite as interactive or helpful. The food options were also somewhat limited (especially on Shabbat). It is within close walking distance to a mall with food and shopping options available.
Beautiful room-with luxurious shower, separate toilet and lovely bath. The view was stunning and everything about the room very comfortable. Staff are delightful and helpful. The breakfast could be improved with more fresh fruit but apart from that everything excellent. Staff are all eager to please. Very tasty tea served outside in lovely garden. Everything with a smile
The problem with reviews and views is that they are always subjective, moreover an institution has a myriad of positives and negatives and at the end weighing them up often feels like weighing apples, walnuts and pears and then comparing them. In the case of the Dan there are a great number of positives. The Dan Carmell is in a splendid position with fabulous views, the quality of the fittings in the rooms is first class. The shampoo and other toiletries could be improved however. For a hotel with over 100 rooms management should ensure that there is sufficient front desk staff at reception. Often there is just one individual. That individual ( or better individuals) should, in a hotel occupying the top spot in a town or claiming it, place customer service at the highest level. Getting a concierge with the golden keys might be an idea. The room service menu needs upgrading and the quality inspecting. The gym is in the basement and there are dank and stained carpets to get to it. It is all a bit shabby, though the equipment is good quality ( Technogym) if limited. The gym is also too small being perhaps forty square meters ? Arguably the true highlight of this hotel is the magnificent breakfast in terms of culinary output yet the experience was not pleasant. Pepper pots can fail but four of them ? Tablecloths should be pristine. One could go on. The failings point in my humble opinion to weak management and there was an underlying or at least I felt several times an underlying lack in employee confidence caused by overbearing tick box management style. On a final plaudit the laundry service was impeccable, arguably the best in the world. It's the best hotel in Haifa but it could be so much better, a Swiss manager with experience of joining the Leading Hotels of the World club or being one might be an idea - at least that should be the target.
Unfortunately I spent only an overnight stay at this property, but it reeked of luxury. Enjoyed buffet evening meal, as well as morning breakfast. The rooms are spacious, excellently furnished, and service is outstanding. You could have left me here, I'd been very happy!
Overall a good experience. However, the parking arrangements call for improvement, and the front desk and the reservation center need to be more coordinated. The front desk should also be more considerate of couples with a few-monts-old baby.
We stayed at 23/02 for 1 night, half board base. Reception stuff were very friendly, the room was very large and fully equipped. Regarding the dining: the Friday dinning was quantity very large, but the quality of the meat wasn't satisfied. Saturday breakfast wasn't so good compared to another 5* hotels in Israel. the quantity was good, but the quality was ok. In room service prices were cheap compared to another hotels, the quantity of the food was very good. In-hotel parking cost 50nis per 24 hours. Overall the hotel was very good, if they will improve the quality of the food. I think this hotel will be the best in Haifa.
we have stayed at this hotel many times and we can honestly say their standards are getting higher. The ambience is good, the quality of food over the week end was exceptional, and would rate highly anywhere in the world
