Last week i spent three days at a conference at the Dan Carmel Hotel abd it was absolutely fabulous. The hotel is in some ways a lttle old fashioned but the room was spacious , beautifully maintained and the bed was extremely comfortable. The view from the hotel is picture perfect - you look down on the Haifa Bay and you are right by the Louis promenade which overlooks the Bahai Gardens. \ The conference was wonderful, though not organized by the hotel. The facilities were great. One eveing we celebrated in the Rondo (i cant remember the name) restuarant at the hotel, overlooking the bay and the view was absolutely magnificent - very romantic. I would imagine it as an excellent choice for a small wedding venue However - the food was just completely over the top. The choice at each and every meal ( and the snacks between meals) weas amazing. Simply the food was great. As to the staff - they were all helpful. The dining room staff were all very attentive and all seemed genuine in their task of keeping the diners happy. One waiter , Ahjmed noticed that i didnt have a teaspoon and unobtrusively placed one on my saucer . I think that attention to detail, to give the hotel visitor
Very good experience with this hotel on a recent business trip Pros: - very accommodating staff. They parked my car for me when I arrived @ 1am - Beautiful location with the Bahai gardens right behind the hotel - Nicely remodeled hotel rooms and bathrooms - Great firm mattress - Good selection at breakfast Cons - Limited parking under the hotel and I had to ask them to open the exit gate for me each morning
This is not my first visit to Dan Carmel (and certainly won't be my last). I know this place from childhood and I stayed here several times before. The staff is very helpful and eager to help and serve. And they do it all with a smile. No request is too big and they will go out of their way to make your wish a reality. The food in the conference I attended was very good. The facilities were working perfectly (though I read a true markdown - the elevators are somewhat slow). I enjoyed my business visit to the hotel.
My wife and I stayed at the Dan Carmel in Haifa for two nights in mid-November 2017. It's certainly not a bad hotel but it has some issues. First the good: The rooms are nice - modern - and the bathroom is large and clean. Good bath towels. The staff is very nice - helpful and polite. The location is good, on a hillside with a great view of Haifa. The not so good: The Internet access is extremely slow, almost to the point of being unusable. The restaurant is only okay. We had a buffet dinner one night and buffet breakfast two nights. While the food is adequate, it was just adequate. The elevators are somewhat slow. I walked up the stairs one time rather than wait for the elevators. I just never felt comfortable (at home) at the hotel.
My third visit to Haifa and my third different hotel and frankly, this is the best. Location is perfect. Staff and service were exemplary and couldn’t I couldn’t ask for more. Looking forward to staying here on my next visit.
Great location high over the bay results in a wonderful view from our room. Spacious room but a little tired. Bathroom was large and fine. Breakfast buffet was mediocre at best and no items had labels identifying the food item. Very difficult to get coffee in restaurant during breakfast. We were here over Shabbat and that was difficult for dinner or drinks, service was lacking. Hotel gets a 4 primarily for location and size of rooms.
Great Hotel, great service, excellent meals. What a treat. Hotel is located easy walking distance to the Bahai Gardens. Gorgeous view over the city if you have a room on the city side. The gift shop was excellent, my wife loved it.
The hotel Dan is probably not the newest in Haifa but the location high on the hill ensures spectacular views of the city and the harbour. The rooms are spacious with balconies and the restaurant and bar are well serviced but relaxed. This is an excellent location for touring archaeological sites in the area and visiting this interesting part of Israel. All up a most enjoyable stay.
We had a one night two rooms during the holidays. Great rooms. Large and spacious with view to the port. Breakfast as good as always. But one room was not prepared. This was fixed but should not have happened.
I was actually disappointed. I expected a 5 star hotel. This is not it! Average lobby and rooms. Great view. Close proximity to a nice walk along the bluff, children’s play area downstairs. Japanese Museum next door. The pool is not heated and very boring in appearance. The included breakfast buffet was ok. But Dead Sea hotels have better buffets. I enjoyed the night entertainment in the bar. A one night stay was ample. We had a good time. I would not return. Air conditioner leaked in room. It was fixed. Twice, my room key deactivated requiring trip to lobby to replace.
