We choose to spend here our annual local family vacation in Israel for the last five years. The hotel is located up on the mountain so even in steaming hot days the pool gets refreshing breeze. The place is only getting better. Though like most Israeli hotels, it is a bit too pricy. Dror
Steak at hotel restaurant is kosher and good. Service is good. Worth a visit. Hotel room is really nice. Overlooks city. Beautiful. View from room is breath taking. Room service is good. Air conditioned. Feels luxurious.
I was very impressed with the Dan Carmel from the moment I walked in. The rooms are comfortable and spacious, and the balconies give you a fabulous view of Haifa. My brother and I enjoyed the large swimming pool. The meals were delicious and offered many delicious dishes. The staff is very friendly, and I would love to return.
My family and I enjoyed our stay at the Dan Carmel in Haifa. The views from the hotel balconies are spectacular and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. Our children enjoyed the large swimming pool. The breakfast and dinner buffets offered something for everyone and the food was very good. Great proximity to the promenade overlooking the city to take a nice walk away from the busy streets.
The staff and facilities were great, the service was fantastic. Even waiting for an elevator was quick... We enjoyed the pool very much, and the hotel's location gives you a great view of the bay. A great experience from A to Z.
Really unimpressed with the Dan Carmel Haifa, especially for what they charge. The best thing was the view from what must be the highest point in Haifa, and the 3 minute walk to the Baha'i Gardens. But other than those two pluses, everything else was either outdated, dirty, or just so-so. The plastic pool chaises are stained with bird poop. The breakfast buffet is vast but flavorless. The staff that pours the coffee at breakfast is terrific, but the staff the rest of the day is indifferent. The pool staff disappears. Birds attack any food left unattended for a second. Room service dinner tray still out in the hallway in the morning. We ordered two bowls of chicken soup, listed as containing noodles. We got two small bowls of plain broth. We called to say we didn't get any noodles, so about an hour later someone came up with just noodles, by which time, of course, the RI y bowls of broth were stone cold. So we said we didn't want the noodles or the broth. When we checked out, we were charged for the soups. We explained what happened, and the hotel refused to take the charge off the bill. They also charged us $85/night for a cot in my kids' room. Much nicer hotels in Israel charge $20-30 for a cot, or nothing at all. If I were going back to Haifa I would stay in the German Colony area, or if I needed a place to stay to explore northern Israel, I would stay at a kibibutz nearby.
Very nice hotel, comfortable, very good service, good location on the Carmel mountain, excellent breakfast, very nice view (bay view), the room is quite small but with all the needed facilities, comfortable car parking, nice atmosphere.
Great hotel, especially for my first stay in Israel and Haifa! Rooms were very nice, and the breakfast consisted of an excellent spread of food. The hotel sits high on the hill, and I had a wonderful view of the harbor and sea. I would definitely stay here again.
We selected Dan Carmel after much dwelling in TripAdvisor and alike. Booked a renovated room and we had two options, chose the one with better view and paid some extra for it after a recommendation from the rep. on the phone. (I am a sucker of a good lookout) Can't express the embarrassment of opening the curtains wide in a theatrical motion to discover a line of tall trees blocking any piece of view. All staff and hotel personnel were very kind and helpful throughout our stay. Nonetheless, when getting to breakfast the lady told us not to enter "since it is full" and directed us to a much worse room at the other end of the lobby. The second day we got the same drill while clearly can see that there is a lot of vacant tables and while contemplating even noticed a couple entering the main dining room with a greet from the hostess, shocked by the selective treatment, we entered the main room after confronting the hostess over that. I got from her that what she was asked to do while I can't realize a criterion. Shame. The rooms are well kept, modern and clean. Room service was, weird... Tried a couple of times to order, chose a whole meal and they only got about 1/5 of our requests, the rest wasn't available at the time. Coincidentally, got a feedback request from the hotel customer service on our third day out of five and I did complained on the miserable view which I paid extra for. I got a callback almost immediately but the woman on the other end stated plainly that she can't help me with that, all higher levels were occupied according to her. The pool was fantastic and the food just OK. Overall OK hotel but not for the price and except the location which is right next to the Bahai Temple and Gardens and on the very top of the Carmel mnt. can't make myself go there again, unfortunately.
Definitely a great choice while in a Haifa. Located just above the B'nai Gardens. Large, clean rooms...beautiful views...great pool...super breakfast...well designed bathrooms...very helpful staff. What more can you ask.
