It was definitely the nicest hotel I've been in United States (and I have visited already 38 states). I love the Southern charm and style of the hotel. The furniture and room were well maintained, and the breakfast was exceptional.
Quite simple. I'm in the travel industry and for the last 20+ years I spend half the month in hotels. ALL things considered, the Hotel Magnolia is in the top 1% places I've ever stayed! If you travel much you already know what we look for. Would take too long to list here. Imagine those categories and across the board the lowest score for Magnolia would be an "A." (Breakfast, Room temp/ comfort, Showers, Bed, Elegance... A+) I also had a special request of the hotel staff on the last day that other hotels would have easily denied or reluctantly approved with an add-on fee... but Magnolia's manager granted it with a smile and at her own expense. Breath of fresh air in today's corporately objective obtuse culture. Atmosphere perfect for solo, with a spouse, or family. Please try this slice of Americana, you will be glad you did!
Room #4 at the Magnolia Foley Al. Pros and cons. The room is really small but very cute. The shower in the vintage tub isn’t user friendly at all! There were pee spots in front of the toilet on the marble floor. The bathroom lighting was poor. The breakfast was not a hearty one it was more like a snack, I was very disappointed! The tv on the wall was a laptop size. The bed slept really comfortable. Great location. This room is by a busy hwy. The staff was polite. The pool is small but nice and cozy. Check out is at 11 but at 10 I got a knock. This house overall is gorgeous and antique.
My wife stayed one night while attending s concert at Orange Beach. This place was beautiful, charming and like stepping back to the early 1900s. First, the Magnolia Hotel is authentic so yes the rooms are on the small side but you don’t go there to sit in your room. Enjoy the verandas while sipping coffee in the morning or a cocktail in the later afternoon. Great way to meet fellow travelers. Nice courtyard and pool area also. Would not recommend for large families with children. Breakfast is European continental. If you don’t know what that is, look it up. We loved our stay.
This historic boutique bed and breakfast is a real jewel! Located in the center of Foley Alabama it's just steps away from the Holmes Medical Museum, book stores, coffee and tea shops and even the vintage Foley diner. The rooms are sumptuous and decorated in the period with crystal chandeliers in every room! The staff is amazing and very accommodating! From Miss Mary the manager to her whole team we even got a tour from Miss Kathleen! Clean, elegant and we never heard any road noise even though its located on Hwy 59. They also have facilities for weddings and group events! Highly recommended jewel of Foley!
The Hotel Magnolia is a unique historic property with interesting features including antique furniture in the rooms and public areas. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was spacious. There is an area for guests to make coffee in the hallway. The continental breakfast offered sufficient variety and was very good. Our only complaint is that the water in the bathroom is exceptionally hot and could easily scald a child or elderly person.
I cannot thank Miss Mary and her wonderful staff enough for their help accomodating our guests and wedding event. My daughter stated years ago after a previous stay that she wanted to be married at this hotel and this past weekend, her dreams came true. This hotel is one of a kind, from the individual rooms and parlor, to the ballrooms and grounds. As we danced our father daughter dance, my daughter told me how happy she was and how this place made her feel like a princess in a fairytale. We couldn't have found a better venue for our event. Thank you again, Mike and Cherry Connolly
We stayed for 2 nights in May while attending the Balloon Fest in Foley. The location of the Magnolia was perfect for the fest, shopping, restaurants and beaches. The house was just beautiful, with all the amenities as well as history, antiques, and charm. It was lovely to enjoy a nice breakfast, on real plates, with quiet music and good conversation. We loved spending a little time with Ms. Kathleen - she really made us feel like special guests and welcome family. She is also very knowledgeable of the history of the hotel and the area. Hope to return soon!
This grand hotel did not disappoint. Beautiful chandeliers hung everywhere including our room Mirror Mirror. All of the staff were friendly and gracious. The European breakfast was very abundant with choices. We loved all the sitting areas of parlors and porches. Our room was big and beautiful with a large modern shower.
This bed & breakfast is clean and beautifully decorated. Staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast is quiet and has plenty of seating room. Would recommend to anyone but maybe not good for small kids as there are a lot of antiques and breakable items. Bathrooms are marble tile with chandeliers. Some bathrooms have claw foot tubs and some have walk in showers. Located right in downtown Foley, short drive to Tanger Outlet mall. I have stayed at this hotel twice and plan to revisit. All rooms are unique and you will want to try them all. Beds are antique so check size if that is a concern. Lots of history to learn about the hotel.
