We were one of many people who needed to find a room during hurricane Irma, and we stayed at the Riviera Inn during this event. So this review is not your typical stay. In fact, the people staying there pushed the staff to their personal limits. Overall, it was nicer than we expected and cleaner than we expected. So it outdid our expectations. Lots of restaurants to walk to, park behind the motel, nice pool, and close to the beach and outlet stores. Foley is a great town with tons of unexpected things to do for kids and families. That includes Lambert's ThrowedRolls to Old Time Pottery. You can walk to the Shrimp Basket right next door and Dodges across the street! And if you wanted a place to stay and go to the beach, the beaches nearby are one of the nicest in the US to visit, with pure white sands. So overall, it is a great family vacation area and place to stay. Don't listen to any negative reviews. The location is perfect.

Room was adequate. Cleanliness was average. Staff wasn't rude but unfriendly and lacking personality. Cleaning staff was awful, never left enough towels for the quests in room. Bfast awful. Overall, if your looking for an adequate place to sleep while spending most of your time at the beach, this is your place.


The room was clean and the overall condition very good. However, the WiFi did not work. Our wash cloths and hand towels were not replaced. I noticed others having to go to the front desk for these items. There are no blankets or bedspreads in the room. On the plus side, the beach is not far and the shopping outlets and sportsplex are very close.

Hotel staff was great. The room was terrible and the bathroom was even worse. Had to wear shoes because the carpet was so dirty. The bathtub was nasty. It had a ring around it. We are just hoping it was a rust stain in the toilet. Will not stay there again and will not recommend it to anyone. Sometimes you get what you pay for. Cheaper isn't always worth it.

Room was very comfortable. They only had cereal, muffins and toast No fruit or hot food for food for breakfast.

Stayed here last winter for a few days too. It's a good motel. Nice amenities, very well maintained, friendly people and clean.

A shower chair was requested for my 85 year old father. The front desk clerk refused to honor the request per the manager since he was not in a handicapped room. The manager refused to speak to me! The room had a huge stain on the floor, phone did not work, and no tv remote control.

Very friendly staff. Was thtilled they allowed us to let our baby girl & us swim as long as kept noise down. Awesome experienxe. Will be staying there for now on when we come down to visit our family in Pensacola FL & Foley AL.

Checking in the staff was unprofessional. And the room didn't look like they vaccummed or swept

Good Clean nicely proportioned rooms. Friendly employees, walking distance to several restaurants.

Definitely would stay again. Nice well kept motel with very comfortable furnishings. And it's clean. It could probably be a little cleaner, but for a unbranded motel I doubt you'll find much better... Excellent super friendly staff.

The hotel staff was great on accommodating my needs! Close to outlets stores.

The air conditioner caused the carpet to get soaked in water. They moved us to another room. Enjoyed the coffee machine in the room. The bed was ok fir comfort. The TV worked.

This place was very clean, the carpets were not stained up. smell good, good simple breakfast. Beds look good, not old sheets and spreads. Would definitely stay again. Vanessa

Hotel was wonderful! Beds were soft, room was clean, and the staff was friendly. The breakfast bar leaves a little to be desired and the eating area is cramped, but other than that, my family and I were extremely pleased. I feel that we got quite a bargain and would DEFINITELY stay at this hotel again.

upon check in i could not recieve my employee discount bc i booked through orbitz and they didn't know how? night one after 10.5 hour drive with 3 kids just needed a place to rest. day two come back from all day @ beach and the door is not latch, called front desk just to let them know maybe maintenance needs to chk, they nvr did. night 3 after all day @ the beach the light bulb burns out in the bathroom, called front desk she is the only one on duty and can't leave has to call mgr bc they are not authorized to do certain task. i unscrew the light bulb and take to the front desk to get a replacement. sad that a guest would have to do thier own maintenance i mean the bathroom light is quite important especially in the night. the last day/night no service to the room at all. i left notes for chg of sheets and extra towels and my notes were found exactly where i left them. when i left the hotel that morning i saw one hskpr upstairs and 3 sitting on a bench outside, so they knew our room was vacant. i called the front desk and again she is the only one one duty and i can't call and make demands to have my room cleaned. i asked for the mgr and she is not available nor will she take my call. i walk to the front lobby just in time for the mgr to call the desk back and as i stood there to hear the conversation the mgr decides she will come back and clean my room personally, which she did so i give her credit for that, but really don't you think you need someone else on duty to help out the front desk. by all means do not book this hotel for vacation. if your on business might be okay, but after 4 p.m. you will get NO SERVICE!! i will return to gulf shores to visit again bc the beach was fun but guarantee i will not stay in this hotel again!!

I was very disappointed in the room. It looks like an older motel but noticed some upgrades with the bathroom. The grounds were not kept up at all, the pool literally felt like bath water, but the thing that upset me the most was the breakfast area. It was not cleaned up, or kept stocked with food, it was very small and crowded with just one or two families. I did find out after waiting for 10 minutes at the front desk to check out, that the girl in charge of the desk is also responsible for the breakfast area. I think they should hire someone for the breakfast. Maybe then it would be kept stocked with food and the front desk would have someone there to check out, after all it is the morning time when most people check out and eat breakfast. Not satisfied at all. I also saw the maid staff sitting in the very small lobby talking loudly and eating breakfast themselves. Wouldn't you think that someone would offer to help the poor lady doing two jobs? Also, the computer didn't work either. The bedspread had a burn in and didn't feel very comforting. I would not return.

Clean and comfortable rooms, helpful staff, no problems in anyway.

Very clean room, good location, close to the beach and many places to choose from to eat. We ate at a wonderful buffet called Ryans. It was about 4 blocks away.
