Was located at room 1615. Seems to be the trend now that lobby is located at the top floor so every1 can enjoy the splendid city view. The setting of my room was unique with the tab in the middle and the toilet located near the entrance.
I spent in this hotel just few hours but it has been great. Great view on the city, great welcome and service by the reception desk, big room and very rich breakfast. Great service especially of the concierge. Totally recommended.
Nice hotel in a very good location, close to downtown. The hotel employees are very kind and make the customer very comfortable for the communication. I am hurrying to airport in the morning and the cateen lady prepare the takeaway breakfast for me.
I stayed in a corner room and found the layout to be quite distracting. The door leads to a hallway and straight into a closet. Then there are two entrances into the bedroom that surround the bathroom. The space where the bed is was quite nice and faced a large open window. But the separate toilet and the rest of the bathroom layout were so strange. Bed was comfortable, toiletries were nice. Lots of options at the breakfast buffet. I didn’t use the hot tub or pool but the hot tub was huge.
Third time visit and second time for business reason. The location is perfect, right in the middle of the Zhujiang New Town. The huge underground shopping mall with various dining outlets is just minutes’ walk away. But if you are in a rush or it’s way too late, their room service is actually quite nice, offering an extensive range of f&b options. There are rooms facing different directions: garden, garden + tower, or other office towers nearby. I was lucky to get a room with garden + tower view this time, and the view was amazing! Sure that there are a LOT of choices if you are looking for a 5-star hotel in the new town, but I fell in love with this one when the taxi took me to their driveway for the very first time. It might not be the brightest star in this area but you are guaranteed to have a hassle-free experience here.
If not mistaken , this is the Hyatt fro. The very downtown area. The rooms were big, Bathroom fancy as well. Best of all it has smoking rooms as well. I like how the automatic curtains work in Hyatt. The Chef Salad that I ordered late night was nice as well. The balance taste with well cooked vegetables and the continental olive oil sauce. The Breakfast was very nice as well. More choices of Chinese breakfast than the western but there variety of cheese is more as compared to Hyatt in the Bund in Shanghai. Suggested to have the fresh juice made of the seasonal fruits. Watermelon fro. Winter are not healthy... Ended up drinking carrot juice most of the time. The funny thing , actually my first experience so it could be that I found it funny was that.... The hotels lobby is on 22nd floor so first u take the lift and get to 22nd floor then take the inside lift and go down for the rooms.... It took sometime to get used to with GOING DOWN the lift for the rooms. The nearest shop, family Mart is at the distance of over a kilometer to get a pack of cigarette. Overall nice service . Nice and clean rooms.
I really enjoyed my stay. Excellent location because we walk out and it’s a big park with the river and mall and IFC etc etc. from a walking distance one can go to so many things. I loved the room because it’s a different design and the bathroom and shower are separated which is nice. However some people in my party didn’t like the way the floors were designed - up and down was very inconvenient. And the way to Chinese restaurant was very complicated and difficult for people with walking issues.
Along with several family members, I had one of the best experiences ever at the Grand Hyatt Guangzhou. Reception was professional & friendly, rooms were excellent & food very good; with excellent staff to serve. I highly recommend this great hotel.
I visited this hotel in November (a month ago) and it did impress me on many levels. CHECK IN - I arrived at the hotel at about 11pm ish. Upon greeted by the front desk staff, they were very pleasant and efficient. My check-in rep even walked me over to the guest elevator, which was nice. The lobby of the hotel is on 22nd floor. One has to take the elevator to the lobby from street entrance, then take another elevator to the designated room floor. I got a Club Lounge room, which was on the 21st floor. I was assured the room is not directly below the bar or restaurant area. And it was perfect. ROOM - spectacular! It was an upgrade due to Explorist membership, the view from the room was impeccable. The bed was very comfy and the bathroom was clean. The shower water pressure was great. Hotels with weak shower water pressure would cost them a whole star grade, in my opinion. The Club Lounge was wonderful with many options and choices. I've only frequented the lounge during breakfast hours. The options were adequate and the staff members were attentive. The location of the hotel is in the New Pearl River Town. There was a subway station minutes walking distance from the hotel. I didn't have to call any taxis during my stay, so no feedback on how well taxi drivers know the hotel or how accessible in hailing a cab from the hotel. At the hotel entrance, there is an ATM that dispenses RMB, super convenient. All in all, the service, the room, the location, the staff were very professional. The only reason I gave it a 4-star is due to its internet access. As a frequent traveler, the main components of my rating are on breakfast option, bed comfort level, room cleanliness, room noise level, water pressure on the shower and the quality of the high speed internet. This hotel was spectacular on all other levels, except the internet. The internet of the hotel did not allow me access to my emails, social media, chats, and search engines. I chose a US based hotel chain is partly on the expectation that it would allow me the freedom of internet access to do my work. I couldn't work my emails and communicate with friends in the US for the stay, so be aware of that in case you need to work during your stay. I stayed at other hotels in GZ over the years and never had the internet issue, so it surprised me that this GH did. And no, the access issue was not related to my devices. I had 2 different devices, one Andrioid, one Apple, neither of them were able to gain access.
Grand Hyatt Guangzhou at Tianhe used to be one of my favourite hotels when I travel. Their Club Lounge used to be superb. The service of the whole team at the Club Lounge is above average. This year is my 5 years in the row that I choose Grand Hyatt for my Christmas retreat. In past years, they served lots of scrumptious Christmas cakes all through the day. Their canapés at cocktail party each day is very good. Everything is very much Christmas. This is exceptionally good in China where Christmas in not a festival. However, this year, it is really disappointing in a sense that they have no Christmas decoration except a plastic tree. They serve red bean soup, spring roll and a pecan cake (sort-of) during the day. I do not think that they do it for heart. They just put some food on the table to fill your stomach. Everything is so amateur and non-professional which it has downgraded itself from a 5 star to 3 star. The only thing which is up to its usual standard is the service at the Club floor. So, if you want to find a hotel which provides bed and room, Grand Hyatt Guangzhou is OK. If you are looking for more, especially during festive seasons, find other hotels.
