Grand Hyatt Guangzhou

I really enjoyed my stay. Excellent location because we walk out and it’s a big park with the river and mall and IFC etc etc. from a walking distance one can go to so many things. I loved the room because it’s a different design and the bathroom and shower are separated which is nice. However some people in my party didn’t like the way the floors were designed - up and down was very inconvenient. And the way to Chinese restaurant was very complicated and difficult for people with walking issues.

Along with several family members, I had one of the best experiences ever at the Grand Hyatt Guangzhou. Reception was professional & friendly, rooms were excellent & food very good; with excellent staff to serve. I highly recommend this great hotel.

I visited this hotel in November (a month ago) and it did impress me on many levels. CHECK IN - I arrived at the hotel at about 11pm ish. Upon greeted by the front desk staff, they were very pleasant and efficient. My check-in rep even walked me over to the guest elevator, which was nice. The lobby of the hotel is on 22nd floor. One has to take the elevator to the lobby from street entrance, then take another elevator to the designated room floor. I got a Club Lounge room, which was on the 21st floor. I was assured the room is not directly below the bar or restaurant area. And it was perfect. ROOM - spectacular! It was an upgrade due to Explorist membership, the view from the room was impeccable. The bed was very comfy and the bathroom was clean. The shower water pressure was great. Hotels with weak shower water pressure would cost them a whole star grade, in my opinion. The Club Lounge was wonderful with many options and choices. I've only frequented the lounge during breakfast hours. The options were adequate and the staff members were attentive. The location of the hotel is in the New Pearl River Town. There was a subway station minutes walking distance from the hotel. I didn't have to call any taxis during my stay, so no feedback on how well taxi drivers know the hotel or how accessible in hailing a cab from the hotel. At the hotel entrance, there is an ATM that dispenses RMB, super convenient. All in all, the service, the room, the location, the staff were very professional. The only reason I gave it a 4-star is due to its internet access. As a frequent traveler, the main components of my rating are on breakfast option, bed comfort level, room cleanliness, room noise level, water pressure on the shower and the quality of the high speed internet. This hotel was spectacular on all other levels, except the internet. The internet of the hotel did not allow me access to my emails, social media, chats, and search engines. I chose a US based hotel chain is partly on the expectation that it would allow me the freedom of internet access to do my work. I couldn't work my emails and communicate with friends in the US for the stay, so be aware of that in case you need to work during your stay. I stayed at other hotels in GZ over the years and never had the internet issue, so it surprised me that this GH did. And no, the access issue was not related to my devices. I had 2 different devices, one Andrioid, one Apple, neither of them were able to gain access.

Grand Hyatt Guangzhou at Tianhe used to be one of my favourite hotels when I travel. Their Club Lounge used to be superb. The service of the whole team at the Club Lounge is above average. This year is my 5 years in the row that I choose Grand Hyatt for my Christmas retreat. In past years, they served lots of scrumptious Christmas cakes all through the day. Their canapés at cocktail party each day is very good. Everything is very much Christmas. This is exceptionally good in China where Christmas in not a festival. However, this year, it is really disappointing in a sense that they have no Christmas decoration except a plastic tree. They serve red bean soup, spring roll and a pecan cake (sort-of) during the day. I do not think that they do it for heart. They just put some food on the table to fill your stomach. Everything is so amateur and non-professional which it has downgraded itself from a 5 star to 3 star. The only thing which is up to its usual standard is the service at the Club floor. So, if you want to find a hotel which provides bed and room, Grand Hyatt Guangzhou is OK. If you are looking for more, especially during festive seasons, find other hotels.

Unbelievably bad experience at a five star hotel. Rude check in staff on 22/F lobby BONNIE who ignore guests when they stand right in front of her waiting for a check in. She also allows and helps with other random people to jump in the queue and shows zero apologetic manners. When I ask how can she let this happen? Bonnie also confronts with a rude and aggressive tone saying,"I don't know you are checking in!". Yet, again ZERO aplogetic behaviour and rude response. Highly NOT RECOMMEND this hotel if you weight customer experience as important and hoping to be respected as a normal person.

Gbar at the TOP of the Hotel has an excellent view of GuangZhou river and the night scene. The late autumn season is Cold when at outdoor, though they do supply the warmer blanket , scarf to the ladies. I enjoyed the night scene much as it faces the Carton Tower. A must visit place with Friends whom enjoy a drink and love a night scenery view at one the TOP buildings.

The rooms are clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The club lounge has an excellent view of the park and the food and service there are top quality. The hotel is close to shopping and dining and the MTR.

I loved the Grand Hyatt, it’s my new favorite hotel in Guangzhou. I wouldn’t have chosen this hotel had it not been for a complimentary stay, but now that I have experienced it, I would choose it even if I had to pay. The staff are very nice and take the extra initiative to sort things out. The room is not huge, but certainly big enough. The bathroom is a somewhat strange design, with three doors and the sink in the middle, but everything is pretty high quality. The toilet is in a separate room with its own sink. The gym is great, the pool is 20 meters, and there is a big Jacuzzi as well. The toiletries are Acca Kappa. I had some trouble with the climate control—the room was a bit too hot – but it wasn’t a big deal. The location is ideal for exploring the Zhujiang new town area. Walking distance to the library , opera house, and Guangdong museum; on top of the mall, with the park just outside. And walking distance to two metro stations and two separate lines. The hotels’ location makes you want to walk, which is rare in China. Usually you just want to get in a taxi to avoid the mess on the sidewalks. In short, Grand Hyatt is a winner.

I stay at the Grand Hyatt each time I visit Guangzhou and have never been disappointed. The rooms are very comfortable and spacious and the staff are incredibly helpful and very polite and friendly. Breakfast at the Market Cafe is a great way to start the day and the surrounding area is great for exploring.

The hotel is in a fantastic location with 9 minutes walk to underground station. I walked to the underground food court to have breakfast before my daily activities. I walked in the Flower City Plaza after dinner and enjoy the fresh air and beautiful scenery of Guangzhou. Guangzhou is such a wonderful city with advanced underground transport, Guangzhou tower, the Pearl River, and amazing building decoration. People are very nice as well. Hotel staff are friendly and helpful. Room is very clean. I will like to stay in this hotel again.
