Days Inn Guangzhou3.0 out of 5.0

Just stayed two nights. The price is not bad (around 250 RMB per night). Don’t expect luxury it’s simple, practical but clean. Breakfasts is Chinese standard. There is a huge shopping mall very close to the hotel (200 meters). Starbucks, Pizza Hut etc. are there as well for all those that are not fond of Chinese cuisine...
We stayed at the Days Inn on March 7, 2017 for a few hours ... this hotel was provided to us by China Southern as we were in transit on our way to Perth, Australia. We arrived in Guangzhou @ 5:10 am and our flight to Perth was at 2:20 pm. The wait time for the free shuttle (provided by China Southern) was approximately 20 minutes, plus the travel time to the hotel was around 25 minutes. Check in was quick (it was around 7:15 am) and were provided complimentary breakfast vouchers. At check in, we booked our complimentary shutter back to the airport for 11:30 am. Due to time restraints, we really only used the hotel to take showers and freshen up for our next flight. The room itself met our needs ... it had 2 beds and was equipped with a work desk with chair, sitting area, air conditioning, alarm clock, a closet with hangers, safe, coffee maker and mini bar. The room does NOT have an iron/ironing board. The washroom was equipped with a walk in shower (no tub), 2 sets of towels (wash cloth, hand and bath towels), toiletries (shampoo, shower gel, body lotion, toothbrushes with toothpaste, shaving kit) and a hair dryer. The complimentary breakfast had a wide variety of hot and cold items including: cereal, congee with various toppings, yogurts, hard boiled eggs, bacon, chicken and beef sausages, fried rice, noodles, different types of breads and rolls. The complimentary wifi worked for the very limited time that we were required to use it. The hotel provides both smoking and non-smoking rooms. Overall, this layover hotel suited our needs for the few hours that we were there.
We arrived early at the hotel but we were able to check in because the room was already available. This is what we want with hotel reception staff - flexibility! The room was spacious and the bedroom slippers were comfortable and nice. The toilet looks and smells clean. There breakfast buffet provides many choices and is delicious. If we are coming back to Guangzhou, we will check in again to this hotel.
Just horrific. A total nightmare. The hotel is ok, but the staff is beyond horrible. The level of English language is below Zero. Just total misunderstanding and confusion on every level. Room was wrong, food was all wrong. It was a nightmare trying to have a simple check-in and a dinner after a long flight. WiFi is slow. Stay away!
I stayed at Days Inn for the second time (only because I was travelling with a group from yatra.com) during the Canton fair. Rooms are old but clean. In case you are looking to have a few business meetings in your room, definitely give it a skip. Lights in the room extremely dim. There is no provision for natural light. There is a mall with subway/kfc 5 minutes walk from the hotel. there is also a amusement park directly opposite the hotel. Room service takes time. Wi-fi is really patchy and slow. Canton Fair venue is around 1 hour drive, maybe be longer due to traffic. Foshan is about 40 minutes drive. Overall an average stay, but I would definitely rate it for its value for money.
It is the second time I do come here and it is still the same drama. This hotel has no international standard for hotel accommodation. The rooms are dirty and small. The service is an old soviet style policy. The breakfast is awful. No respect of "do not disturb". The location is however not bad. Adjacent a mall with decent restaurants and a supermarket. This is a hotel for local people, not for foreigners. Whatever the response will be from the management ... No change to be expected.
We have stayed at this hotel on 2 occasions in the last 6 months. Despite a mix up in reservation status, the front end staff upgraded us to two suites which were much nicer and bigger than the standard rooms. Great variety of fresh food at complimentary breakfast bar. The G5 mall, which is right across the street, features a Costa Coffee and Starbucks for those needing high injection caffeine, downfall is these stores don't open until 9 am. Many restaurant choices in the mall, definitely not typical mall food. The outside area of this mall is being developed rapidly and there will be more restaurant/casual bar facilities opening in the next few months. There is a wonderful grocery store in this mall for those wanting to take out deli food - good selection of Western and Chinese take-away cuisine. Did I mention great room prices at this Days Inn? Check out the pricing either through Trip Advisor or Agoda.
I stayed a few days in the hotel for the second time. At the front desk people are very cold and short. The rooms are very standard. The Wi-Fi in the whole hotel is awful as usual.. Simply very bad! The breakfast for the international kitchen is very limited. However it is brighter for the Chinese kitchen.
I highly recommend this place for people attending conventions or conferences at Guangzhou convention centre. It is very close and a taxi charge less than Rs. 200 (20 yuan). There is a big outlet mall just opposite to the hotel and worth shopping. The restaurant is excellent with great food. The complimentary breakfast is mind blowing and I am sure everyone will enjoy the spread given in the early morning. The staff are very disciplined and the wifi connectivity is also too good. I high recommend this hotel for business and family travellers to Guangzhou.
This simple hotel is located near the Baiyun mountains with convenient access to the Baiyun convention centre. Few of the staff speak English and are very helpful with maps, directions, calling cabs etc. Cannot beat the hotel for location. Bang opposite the G5 mall makes access to the supermarket and several eateries an easy one. The mall however is fairly sparsely populated being on the outskirts of the city and upscale. The large square in front of the mall is filled with families and dance groups and makes for good entertainment. Rooms are well appointed with standard inclusions for the business traveller. There was very little closet space in the room with no drawers or shelves. The breakfast buffet had a good mix of local food and western fare. There didn’t appear to be any dinner options for a vegetarian. The mall had several places where one could find something. The wifi was terrible. It seemed to have a mind of its own. It worked in fits and starts and was better in the lobby. Overall a good choice if you are on a budget.
