This hotel is in the middle of remodeling. I am not sure if that was the reason it was so noisy or if it is the marble tile floors. I was kept awake the 2 nights I stayed and it was just horribly uncomfortable. It sounded like furniture was being moved at 2am. The clicking of heels literally all night long. Also, they have this really ugly statue of a caricature of a black man/boy, I don't know who or what he is supposed to be. It's really takes you by surprise when you see it. I guess sensitivity is not the goal for the owners? Just seems bizarre in this day and age. Anyway, other than what I mention, this hotel was clean. Nothing fancy in the rooms but they were comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. Fruit and sweet rolls and breads, coffee and juice. Also, hot options like chilaquiles, meat and egg, pancakes, etc. Really attentive and friendly staff at the front desk as well as concierge and waiters. If it wasn't for the noise. I would stay again. It's about 10 minutes from the center of the city.
Thoroughly enjoyed our night here. Pleasant desk staff and the concierge helped us arrange transportation to San Miguel de Allende the next day. Large enough room with a nice king sized bed. Wi-fi was good. The "continental " breakfast had 8 hot food choices to chose from along with tons of fresh fruit and pastries. Would definitely stay here again.
The one thing this hotel definitely has going for it is its location. If you have business to conduct at the Poliforum, it's just perfect. Parking is cumbersome, as they require you to have a card which you can't get until you check in. Rooms are not always spotless: the carpets made me uneasy at times. Furnishings and color schemes are a bit outdated, the internet connection is mediocre, and room service is sourced from an adjacent chain restaurant which is not very good. Breakfast service is very poor. The lobby always has too many people just hanging around, which is not good. Finally, it is located in one of the busiest intersections in town, which means a noticeable level of noise at all times. It has too much competition nearby, so I would not choose it as my first option on another trip.
This is the 2nd time staying at this hotel because of its location next to the Polyforum complex and denny¨¨ s like family restaurante, VIPS, next to this hotel as well as a supermarket approximately 3 minutes walking distance from this hotel. The Real de Minas Groups owns and operate 3 or 4 hotels in Leon, and is a very good hotel for business travelers and it is located on Lopez Mateos Aveune, one of the principal avenues in Leon. Good location and the soccer stadium is approximately 5 minutes away by taxi. Good service and rooms are nice and clean.
Nice hotel if you travel for a day max two, tried the 2 beds room for 4 persons, not as comfortable as I expected, beds are quite small fot two adults, maybe 1 adult and 1 child per bed will fit better, 7 maximum 8 in a 10 grade scale. Enjoy your visit!
Great value for online price(much lower tan rack price). Accomodation and licstion were more than expected. Although a bit dissapointed in the staff attention: - At arrival, the bell-(not so young)-boy took my luggage and placed it at some counter without letting me know. - The look of the front desk staff was not the best. I would expect a wrinkleless shirt among other details... - The halls in the room floors are not carpeted, so they are so noisy.. We requested a quiet room and were given (at earlier time than check in time, I'll grant you that) a room between the rooms of a group of teenagers staying for the weekend. As you might expect, the ambience was not quite 'business', and had to call security to calm them down.
Good business type over night hotel. Its on the main boulevard and close to the shoe center and leather plaza. 40 pesos ride to these. Limited breakfast but next to a VIPS restaurant. Small lobby bar. Lobby with only 5 chairs. Good TV, no mini bar.
There is a experience in a hotel, that only the GM Jose Luis and his amazing staff can bring to you and your Family....From the fresh daily 12 Roses my wife received daily for our our 5 day stay....I could go on and on about the Front Desk First Class Staff, the welcome home feeling my World traveling family needs when we arrive at the front door. If you are a real Traveler or just out for the weekend.....there is only one hotel to lay down in the Beautiful City of Leon, Mexico...It is REAL de Minas Express
We chose this hotel because it is so close to the Teatro Bicentenario in Leon, where we attended a concert. The entire experience at the Real de Minas Express was very pleasant, especially all interactions with the staff. We were always greeted warmly and asked if there was anything we needed, and valuable suggestions were consistently offered. There is nothing special about the rooms, but they are clean and quiet and beds are comfortable. The hotel offers ample free parking and free wifi. The rooms do not have coffee makers
We arrived here after a long day of driving. I felt sick and the staff did their best to get us in our room as quickly as possible. The shower was hot and spacious. The beds were comfortable. The wifi was fast and reliable. The staff was helpful and the parking was secure. We did not realize we had arrived for day one of the Leon Fair. We had an amazing view of Ferris wheel and could see some of the fireworks behind the Marriott. The location is convenient to the main highways, but kinda far from the historic downtown.
