The Kelvingrove Hotel

We had a lovely stay here. The staff were freindly and helpfull. This hotel is in an excellent position for the west end or the city centre.we stayed here for a night as we were at a gig in the Kelvingrove bandstand.

I stay at a variety of location so my rating may appear low but I always try to compare to a 5* venue so that others have a fair appreciation. Parking: outside very cheap but limited to 3hrs. You can pay via phone should you not have change. Check In: very good and very helpful in giving a quick overview of the location and places to drink/eat. Room: having booked a twin I was kindly upgraded to a family. Good space although unsure if the wardrobe would be big enough for longer stays. The room is well equipped, basic facilities which yes could do with a refurb but overall it works. Free wifi is ok at between 8-10MB. Breakfast: ok selection of cerals and a drinks machine for Tea/Coffee. A good hearty breakfast also. Overall my thoughts were it was more of a guest house than a hotel. The location is good for those not wanting to pay top end prices for the city centre. My own areas of complaint would be the water system is noisy and did wake me in the night. Lastly that more breakfast options would be welcomed (Yoghurts/Eggs Benedict/other cereals). I only come to Glasgow once or twice a year but I would stay again.

This hotel is ok, We stayed here but we will not be staying again. The room we were allocated was next door to a toilet which was next door to the kitchen, although the notice on the kitchen door stated keep noise to a minimum this was not the case, woken between 6-7 in the morning. The T.V was fixed to the wall so impossible to watch. Robert the manager was friendly and helpful with directions. It was ok if you don't mind walking its about 20 mins to half hour walk from town. Staying here is up to the individual traveller,

I was part of the group that was burgled. The staff were unhelpful and rude. We were confused as to how this happened as we locked the door and closed the windows, the member of staff on reception told us the hotel would take no responsibility for this. We did not feel safe and will be in contact with the manger.

My daughter and 2 friends stayed a night while attending their graduation ball. On returning to the hotel in the early hours they found their room had been entered through the window and several hundred pounds of their possessions were taken. Staff were not particularly helpful or sympathetic. I believe the least they could have done would be to refund the cost of the room to the 3 students as a goodwill gesture. Certainly would not recommend this hotel, rooms on lower ground floor not secure.

Stayed here on thur with my friend for take that, check in was fast and no issues, Ian (manager) was great, friendly and helpful, lots of banter but professional, room was fine, plumbing is very noisy though, not great in middle of night when flushing loo! Breakfast was fab, fresh, tasty and good choice, thanks Paula and Julie x

Stayed here for 1 night whilst attending the hydro. Great location and very helpful receptionist Iain 15 mins walk to the venue plenty of bars and restaurants All round a good stay for a weekend break

this was my second stay at kelvingrove myself and my partner stayed in march for darts at hydro enjoyed it so much that i went back .unfortunately because my daughter was ill in hospital but the staff made me and my son very welcome and so helpful when we needed to extend our stay The rooms were clean and comfortable and close to centre of glasgow. i would recommend a stay here to all my friends and family and certainly be back thanks guys and see ya soon joan

I stayed for three nights at the Kelvingrove Hotel and will definitely be back. The location, within walking distance of Kelvingrove Park, Art Gallery and Museum plus the city centre is hard to beat. My room rate included breakfast: tea, coffee, juice, cereals plus a freshly cooked hot breakfast, which was super. While there, nothing was too much trouble for the staff: the lady on reception was especially kind and it was so nice to stay at a hotel where you are more than just a room no.

Very poor customer service we were told to stop talking during the night in our own room or we would be threw out and that was our first and final warning a bit harsh seeing as we were in our own room with no music tv or other forms of noise whatever happened to freespeech certainly wont be returning
