Very friendly clean helpful hotel at a very good price - not fancy but with character and all you need in a good location. I've stayed in a lot of similar in the West End over the years and this is one I'd go back to any time.

Spent a lovely birthday weekend with my friends in Glasgow. The Hotel was very clean and tidy, the room was big, very comfortable and all the staff were very kind and helpful. The location is great, very central.

All the rooms have Saniflo toilets, so when you use the toilet there is a loud munching noise for a few minutes , problem is every room has these toilets hence you can hear where the toilets are used in rooms close. And there is always a smell of extrement. I complained about it ,and the response was " yes that's what we're up against !" !I suggest if they can't fix it ,at least make it clear the hotel has Saniflo toilets. if you want a quiet room , don't use this hotel.

Stayed here a few times both on my own in a single room and with my wife in a double room. Location is great, right by Kelvingrove park and near loads of west end bars and restaurants. Staff are really friendly and let you keep your bags in a store room if you arrive early or check out and want to leave your bags somewhere. Free wifi. Offers brekkie, which is very good (full scottish). Rooms are very clean and nice hot shower, can get some noise, but not too bad. Overall is very good value for money, will be staying here again. NOTE: Get the residents parking permit from reception, only £2 for 6 hours (Mon-Fri 8am-6pm, dont need it on weekends).

we stayed here for two nights, on arrival we were net by a friendly receptionist who explained all we needed to know to us. The room was really small even though it was only the two of us staying we were struggling for space. The hotel offered free tea and coffee facilities, hairdryer, telephone and a tv however the television was quite high up on the wall and was so small we struggled to see it once in bed. The beds were very clean and comfortable and the room was also very clean, but our shower cubical did not close properly so we had to put towels down in order to collect the excess water that came out to avoid a accident. On both mornings we were both woken up by the noise of the kitchen right next door to our room serving breakfast, i know the noise of dishes can not be helped during breakfast time however a lie inn was defiantly out of the question. Overall the hotel is in a good area that offers free parking on a weekend and is ideal for a last minute booking.

Clean and comfortable basic hotel accommodation. Very well located - a walkable (20 min) distance from city centre; very near Kelvingrove Museum and Gallery, Glasgow University and the large, fairly pleasant Kelvingrove Park. 77 bus from the airport (not the Airport Express shuttle) stops literally across the road from the hotel (60 min journey time). Staff generally polite and helpful, although the breakfast service on the first day was more than a bit brusque

We had an overnight stay in Glasgow on our way to the northern islands. The Kelvingrove was perfect for us. We like the West End, but had previously been disappointed in the accommodations we found. We've booked The Kelvingrove for our return next week and are looking forward to another pleasant, quiet night with a good breakfast in the morning.

If you want to have a no-frills place with a friendly staff, in an interesting part of town, this is a great choice. Iain was a great host, and the women making breakfast were also nice -- and the breakfast were wonderful. This hotel is located within easy walking distance of Kelvingrove Park and Museum. There are dozens of great places to eat within a couple blocks of the hotel and there is easy access to buses and the subway. I didn't give it a five because the rooms are a bit frayed...but it worked for me (my wife wasn't with me for this trip).

We had a lovely stay here. The staff were freindly and helpfull. This hotel is in an excellent position for the west end or the city centre.we stayed here for a night as we were at a gig in the Kelvingrove bandstand.

I stay at a variety of location so my rating may appear low but I always try to compare to a 5* venue so that others have a fair appreciation. Parking: outside very cheap but limited to 3hrs. You can pay via phone should you not have change. Check In: very good and very helpful in giving a quick overview of the location and places to drink/eat. Room: having booked a twin I was kindly upgraded to a family. Good space although unsure if the wardrobe would be big enough for longer stays. The room is well equipped, basic facilities which yes could do with a refurb but overall it works. Free wifi is ok at between 8-10MB. Breakfast: ok selection of cerals and a drinks machine for Tea/Coffee. A good hearty breakfast also. Overall my thoughts were it was more of a guest house than a hotel. The location is good for those not wanting to pay top end prices for the city centre. My own areas of complaint would be the water system is noisy and did wake me in the night. Lastly that more breakfast options would be welcomed (Yoghurts/Eggs Benedict/other cereals). I only come to Glasgow once or twice a year but I would stay again.
