Hotel was lovely staff were helpful and really easy to talk to. Location was fantastic 15 minute walk from town plenty of restaurants nearby perfect for a short stay. Rooms were clean and adequate in size.
Very friendly staff who made sure I was looked after during my two recent business trips to Glasgow. Rooms are very clean and well presented and the breakfast service put some larger chain establishments to shame.
The room was perfectly clean when we arrived and although small, it was perfect for two people. Location of the hotel was perfect for my visit and staff so very nice. Downside of the hotel is that it's very noisy... Every step people take in the room upstairs was very noticeable.
Stayed here for a few nights with my partner to attend some gigs in Glasgow for my birthday - and I honestly loved it! It wasn't overly fancy but I don't really look for that in a hotel. It felt very homely and cosy, and the man on the front desk was so, so polite and lovely! So annoyed I've forgotten his name, but he seemed to work so hard and always had a smile on his face. Lovely big TV, tea and biscuits in the room and the shower gel smelt heavenly. Best I've used - thinking of looking it up so I can buy some for myself! You could easily enter and leave the hotel at any hour with your key, and it was very conveniently located. We could simply walk to the SSE Hydro, and the receptionist got us a taxi within 2 minutes for the O2 Academy, which was a quick 5ish minute drive away. There was a Sainsbury's 2 minutes walk away too, great for buying snacks! And a chippy right across the road from the Sainsbury's, which was a saviour walking home after a gig. The only, very small complaint was the shower temperature. It was lovely and hot at first then cooled down in about 5 minutes to cold. It might have just been a one-off or me not understanding how to use the shower! We forgot to mention it to the staff so it may have been easily fixed for all we knew. All in all, lovely stay! Would definitely stay again.
Stayed here for 2 nights being in town for gig at SSE Hydro. Hotel is easily accessible from M8 and although no designated hotel parking street parking vouchers are available from reception - total of £8 for 2 days so very reasonable. Room was clean and all amenities were in good condition although floor boards creaked a bit. We were in basement room at the rear so nice and quiet. Receptionist was nice but seemed to be only staff on duty first morning combining duties on desk with serving breakfasts. Cooked food was nice, freshly cooked and plentiful along with fruit, cereals and coffee enough to get you started in morning. Area around hotel is full of bars and eateries so plenty of choice to suit most tastes and budgets. Byres Rd and Ashton Lane area is a 15 min walk through the Kelvingrove Park and over the university area. Hotel was ideal for our needs and would use again for future visits.
Booked the day before when me and my sister decided to stay over rather than get the train home after a night in Glasgow. Booked a twin but got a family room which was great as it was really spacious. Recent renovation was obvious and bedroom and bathroom fresh and clean. Comfy beds and pillows. The guy on reception was very welcoming. Hotel very affordable in a great location. Didn’t book breakfast as there are so many great places to eat in Finnieston. Will be back and would recommend!
Stayed here with my partner for 2 nights at the beginning of October, as it was in a convenient location for the concert we were going to see. Price was decent enough and rooms were very clean. Staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast was served quickly and there was a good choice, even catered a cooked breakfast for vegetarians (even though it wasn't on the menu!). Short walk to the Kelvingrove Art Gallery, SECC and the train station. Only downside would be the saniflow was very loud whenever used, and you could hear whenever the neighbouring rooms where using theirs. Would definitely return.
The gentleman at the front desk who did EVERYTHING was wonderful! The location is great if you want to go to interesting and good restaurants in the West End. And it's down the street from the wonderful Kelvingrove Art Museum and the University of Glasgow. The MacIntosh House at the Hunterian Museum is just up the hill, too. Not to mention it's a 20 minute walk to Buchanan Street and downtown. Good basic place to stay.
We went to a concert in Glasgow so only used the hotel to sleep in one night. Our Room is the only thing I can say went wrong for us, the hotel, breakfast, staff, everything was good, but the room is beside the main reception & breakfast room. My husband & I were wakened by the staff walking back & forth from the kitchen past our door from approx. 6:30am chatting etc, for me to stay again I definitely don't want Room 4
Stopped just for one night. Room was very clean and bed comfortable although would suggest king size duvet for a KS bed rather than a double duvet. All amenities as expected in the room. Unfortunately the shower drain (room 17) appeared to be somewhat blocked as it was really slow to empty so I didn't bother after my wife had a shower as the tray was full. Sorry but forgot to mention it on checkout as we were only there the one night. Having said that I have no doubt that Iain on reception would have sorted it out. He was super friendly and so so helpful and approachable. He's a real asset to this hotel and should be picked out for special praise. He made the difference and just his friendliness and helpfulness alone would make me stay at this hotel again. What a star.
