Have been staying at a good many Apex hotels over the years, so when a short trip to Glasgow came up I didn't have any trouble picking this one. Everything's a bit smaller here (also compared to other Apex in Edinburgh in London), the reception area, the rooms. Tiny bathroom with a nice big walk-in shower, but next to no storage in the room itself. Huge floor-to-ceiling windows that could have done with a proper clean. Generally the room seemed a bit run-down in some places. Cleanliness throughout was generally on a good level, apart from some suspicious stains on one of the pillows and in the corners of the floor. Continental breakfast buffet was okay, nothing special, but an okay assortment of jams, muesli, fruits, 2 different types of ham and cheese. We also ordered some cooked options (for a surcharge) and those were really good actually.
Another great night stay at Apex! Check in was quick and easy and we were booked into a suite on the 8th floor. The room was really nice although it was too small for my liking and it would’ve been a lot nicer if it had a bath. The views over the city was very nice also. Breakfast was delivered to the room and it was fantastic, Overall it was a great stay although would be hesitant to stay again due to the square footage of what I would expect for a suite.
We stayed here for 2 nights for my partners birthday. We arrived at the hotel and we're greeted by a very cheerful member of staff at reception. We were given our key card and told how to get to our room. Although we had breakfast included there was no mention on check in when breakfast would take place. The room was amazing very spacious, although the view was not all that good. All we could see was the top of the roofs on the other buildings. The shower was my favourite feature, the bed was very comfy as well. We had a free mini bar but we're slightly disappointed that there was only one bottle of small sparkling water provided between the two of us. On entering the room we realised that there was no place to hang up our coats. 25% off car park right outside the hotel if you are staying in the hotel. Great stay, great location.
Lovely welcome from megan and a complimentary upgrade to our standard double booking. We were able to check in at 11:30 too as room was ready. Situated at the rear of the hotel on the first floor we were close to lifts, no view but enough lighting in room to get ready. Great king size bed very comfy pillows all you want for a sound sleep. Huge samsung t.v. with full sky package and a huge sofa at the end of the bed for relaxing and watching all the sky movies you want if you choose to stay in. Lovely bar area for a quiet drink again great service.
We were checked in by Tony who provided us with some excellent local advice. The restaurant provided a quirky environment with good food. Staff were always pleasant and helpful. Our room ,with city view was very comfortable. Well done
Stayed here for two nights with my husband. We found it to be a great base to discover Glasgow, near shops and plenty of nice restaurants and bars within walking distance. Also close to the train station. The room was very comfortable. We have stayed in a couple of Apex hotels and always enjoy our stays with this chain. Bed was comfy, good sized room. My husband was particularly pleased he could watch sky sports in the room too! Staff all very nice and helpful. Would stay again.
2nd visit to hotel. Always a pleasant experience. Lovely hotel. Rooms modern and very clean. Staff always cheerful and so helpful. Very central location with shops and restaurants all nearby. Highly recommend hotel.
We have stayed at Alex hotels in Dundee and Edinburgh previously and always found the rooms and service very good so booked for a one night stay in Glasgow. Room had a lovely view over City from 7th floor and bed a very good size. My wife and myself liked the breakfast options at Alex which are much better than the usual hotel warm buffet food and I enjoyed the smoked salmon scrambled eggs on sourdough toast. Good options for freshly cooked other breakfast looked good too
Stayed 2 nights. Great hotel for a weekend in Glasgow. Very close to both Queen Street and Central stations. Arrived an hour and a half ahead of check in time but was still able to check in. Room was spotless and spacious. TV has full Sky package. Bed was very comfy. Big shower. Two windows over each other so no noise from the alleyway below. Only slight issues - Shower drain appeared to be partially blocked. So shower began to fill up and limited a shower to about 10mins. On occasion the TV would cut out for a couple of seconds which could get a bit annoying. Tea/coffee/hot chocolate with kettle. (Slightly temperamental) iron and iron board too. Would stay again.
Lovely modern hotel in city centre. Very helpful staff and complimentary drinks and upgrade. Good option for breakfast and lots of restaurants close by and also close to metro. Very quiet rooms for good night sleep
