You could stay in a typical chain hotel...or you could stay at Hotel Wiesler, a unique and lovely hotel in a perfect location. My room had a large, comfortable bed and - importantly - air conditioning! The hotel has a charming, quicky style that enhances your stay in the unique, underrated city of Graz. It's in a great location and you can easily walk to the historic old city area and famous clock tower. If you're going to Graz, Hotel Wiesler should be the first - and only - place you look to stay.
The hotel is located very close to the Old City. The rooms are large but the furniture is oldish. The breakfast is good and generous. They have their own garage (14 euro/day). The staff is kind and professional.
Wonderful stay at Hotel Wiesler, although my partner was rather confused by the decor! Superb breakfast buffet, one of the top 5 I have ever encountered, with some quirky local specialities. Very helpful and welcoming staff.
This is centrally located hotel with tradition. You can reach pedestrian zone and main square within 5 minutes walk. Check in is efficient however the style of the hotel, in accordance with modern trend of use of used materials is somewhat strange, part of it funny or nice, part of it scary (like planks hanging from the ceiling). It is clean and some features, like shower cabin in the room, washing basin by the bed) are bit strange. However, hotel is clean and their breakfast offer very nice, so for a short stay you keep finding the style interesting without questioning it too much. Wifi was for free, however my distant room sometimes were loosing it.
I've stayed here a few times. I like it but it is not my favourite, ''for the money". On my last visit, my room was enormous, with high ceilings and large windows, including one bay, with a bath tub in it but I thought it was being refurbished/decorated. I subsequently realised there was a decorative theme of plastered and exposed brick throughout the hotel. Frankly, it was not to my taste but "worked" better for me in common areas. The restaurant is excellent (breakfast and dinner), the staff courteous and friendly.
Great hotel and fairly central to the main streets. Room was very stylish and a good size but would benefit from a drawer or two. There was a good breakfast selection. Only reason for not getting 5 stars is the lack of aircon functionality.
Very easy to find coming from the tram station. A very central location. It is directly at the river and across the Franziskaner Church. The check-in was friendly and quick. The room was on the 3rd floor with view of the church. The room was odd with the wash basin near the entrance and the shower beside the bed. At least the toilet was there were it was expected in a small room beside the basin. A wardrobe however could not be found. Instead there was a rail over a chest of drawers with a few hangers. That chest of drawers however turned out to be a mini bar and save. Only 2 shelves for clothing. It was enough for me traveling on my own for 2 days but I can imagine it may be tight if 2 people sharing for a longer time. The bed was fantastic guarantee a good night sleep. Breakfast was excellent served from 6.30. The coffee in a flask was nice and a nice selection of breads and cheeses/ meats and even smoked salmon. There was also scrambled eggs and bacon and boiled eggs. Cereals, joghurt and Birchner muesli were also there as well as fresh fruits. The gym was on a rather small side with one bike and one treat mil. However there was a note in form of a trainer detailing scenic jogging/running paths for all abilities. What a fantastic idea! I tried the 3 km one and it was fantastic.
Perfect hotel in the middle of town. You are close to the pedestrian and historical area. Old building but refurbished in modern decor. Unique breakfast. Hotel staff very friendly. Great place to stay, I recommend
Place is centrally located with a parking garage at the back. Real great location. Has history. Service is superb especially for breakfast. Rooms are nice but their linen and towels need a refresh. Torn towels. Also the aircon is iffy. If possible Pl take the rooms facing the river. They r the best.
I loved this hotel, old but refurbished with modern, stylish decor. It's in a great location on the river and next door to the Kunsthaus. Rooms were clean and well thought out, my only complaint was that there were no drawers in the room so for those staying longer not enough space to unpack a suitcase but for me more than made up for by the design of the room and the view over the river. There is a tiny but again stylish looking gym (basically one weights machine, one bike and one running machine) and a lovely looking sauna area.
