Stayed here due to being here on business. The rooms are to a great standard & very very clean. A little quirky with a suitcase as a safe & fridge inside :-). Breakfast was great with lots of choice. All in all 10/10. Will look at booking again, when I'm in Graz next. If I was to be a bit picky matress was a bit firm. See you soon.
I stayed at the Weitzer for 2 nights and the bed was horribly bad- I have never ever in my entire life slept in such hard. Also the heating was turned off because it is already summer, however it was a very rainy and cold day. Fortunately the very kind receptionist organised a portable heater for my room. The room was also smelling very weird (despite a closed window), depending on what was cooked for the seminar participants that very day. I very much enjoyed the cleaning ladies on the floor starting to chat at 7 am when walls were paper thin. Although the personell tried hard, I will not come back ever again.
I've stayed here many times. It is a very good hotel. It's a 'business' hotel in my opinion and slightly impersonal, as a result. Having said that, it is far from what one expects from a typically awful airport hotel. It's on the banks of the River Mur, is ideally located for the city centre/old town. The rooms are fine, although it is worth paying extra for a room in the 'main building', as opposed to an economy class room. What prevents me from giving an, 'excellent' rating, is the lack of a restaurant. It's essentially a B&B hotel. The hotel's owns the adjoining 'Der Steirer' restaurant, which is first class and therefore invariably full. I have never been able to book a table for dinner, when checking in of an evening. I'd recommend it.
It is a nice Hotel in the middle of Graz. The Classic Room turns out smaller then on the web but still ok for business. I like the bed and especially the pillows. No plastic and super relaxing. Clean room. Nice lobby and bar and super service personal with their Austrian charm. The breakfast ist what you wish for a good start in a business day. Fruits Vegi English traditional all fresh and never empty. And again the service serves you even if it is self service with a big smile. You should book in when ever you are their
Stayed two nights and loved it. Completely renovated, fresh, quiet and clean rooms. Kind and professional stuff, very good breakfast. Great location with easy access to all the main tourist points. Fast WI-FI, free of charge. Public transport few steps away. Convenient parking garages next door.
The Weitzer is very well-located in the heart of the old town of Graz. Staff are friendly and efficient. We had a deluxe room on the 4th floor and it was comfortable enough, though the bathroom was tiny with no counter space. An extensive breakfast buffet is included in the cost of the room. I especially enjoyed the espresso machine, the wonderful black bread, and the fresh fruit. There's a cafe on the premises and a popular tapas bar nearby. Ordinarily, the street noise is well-controlled by double windows and shutters, but if there's a band playing in the cafe or a parade on the street (We had a Friday night battle of the bands.) you can't escape some reverberations. The wifi works well. All in all, a practical - if not especially charming - place to stay.
I stayed at das Weitzer during my three week study program, and it quickly became my home away from home. It is approximately 15-20 minutes away from Graz airport by taxi (around EU20), and very accessible by public transport. Getting around is super easy with the tramlines and the city is a short 5-10 minutes walk away from the hotel. Simply cross the bridge, and you're in the heart of the city where you can find more connecting tram lines, eateries and shopping strips. The breakfast buffet was always a welcome sight in the mornings, and the staff were all so friendly and attentive. We had fresh towels for each day, and our bedding was changed every second day. Hospitality is exceptional. The only downside for me was the lack of kitchenette (perhaps it was because we were in an economy room). It wouldn't have bothered me so much if I was on holiday, however since I was there for 3 weeks, it would have been nice to be able to cook my own food every now and then. Thanks for the great stay! Such amazing memories in your pleasant hotel, and beautiful city, Graz.
We stayed for two nights and really enjoyed Graz. The hotel is really well located and is on the river, it's so easy to walk around the city. The hotel is quite quirky and very cosy and the staff are wonderful. The barman was great! Would definitely stay at Das Weitzer again!
Not sure what to say the common areas were nice good breakfast but our group went out for the day and they packed and moved our rooms to even worse rooms while we were not there. Wow don't know of any one that would want strangers packing there suitcase with you not being there
Need to look and chose your room some are much older than others some have very old wooden floors and make lot noise when you move and some are remodeled and views are quite different, the bell hop was great at showing me at least 4 rooms so I could decide and helped me move after being in 1st room about 2 hrs pleasant stay here walking distance to all things to see and trams are across street to.
