Was shown images of large spacious room with tall windows over looking the lake. Was actually given a basement suite with barely any natural light,. This property is not as advertised. This was for a birthday trip and was promised having champagne delivered to my room and that also never showed. Will stay at other properties, save money, and have a better experience.

The room itself was nice. The bed was comfortable, and the heated floors were nice. Our view of the lake was obscured :0( I booked this room in August and had asked for a lake view as it was a special occasion for us. Also.... we checked in on a Sunday afternoon at 3 pm which is before the listed check in time of 4 pm. There was no one at Guest services, but there seemed to be a wedding event going on. I asked the person at the only other desk around about checking in. She very rudely informed us that check in was down the street at Bluefin Bay resort. I was confused and asked for clarification as there was absolutely no mention in any of my emails from "Surfside" that I was supposed to check in there. Again, she rudely responded that after 2 pm on a Sunday, check in was at Blufin Bay. We check in the entry way for a sign about this and there wasn't one. Clearer communication about were to check in should have been made. Especially since I was sent an online check in request from "Surfside". The people at Blufin informed us that guest services at Surfside closes at 2 on Sundays during off seasons. Blufin takes care of all guests needs from then on until 10 am the following morning. This is also never made clear in any of the emails. Maybe, because of the wedding, a sign with clearer instruction got misplaced.

Views are spectacular and staff very helpful. Breakfast at Coho is an unpleasant experience as it is small and chaotic.

I think that if you stay in the middle location, it is probably best. We were at the “first” resort area which is really far from the outdoor pool, grille, and cafe. It is inconvenient getting in and out of the car for these options… I don’t understand why there isn’t a walk path between all three areas. If I had known, I would have said something. The activities are a perk, but make sure you enroll way ahead of time as they fill up. The cafe by the grille was delicious and the staff were great. The room itself was nice and spacious, although entering the bottom loft, from the entrance all the way down the staircase to the loft entrance, stinks! Not sure what the smell is but it is not pleasant.

We had the pleasure of working with Emily, the front desk/reservation department. She was so hospitable and supportive. We got a room thinking our view out towards the lake was gonna be perfect but unfortunately a tree fell and blocked our view. I left a message to reservation and Emily left a voicemail and got us a new room with perfect view of the lake. Communicative, responsive, and professional. We couldn’t thank her enough. I would like to thank the housekeeping staff also, for helping get our room cleaned and ready on time!

Very nice....But

The place is beautiful, by the lake, we stayed one night after driving for 16hrs to get there, so we were tired. The issue with the fridge and mini split...is they are LOUD, and could not fall asleep
