They advertise that all pets are welcome, but when we got there would not allow our cats unless we paid $1,000.00 deposit. They said that cats are not pets. They also would only give us a partial refund even though we didn't use the room at all. We left and got another motel nearby.
Cock roaches in room, very unclean... nasty stuff on walls. . No BREAKFAST. Owner says there is but its false. Very cheap for terrible rooms. Disgusting chairs n floors. Definitely need to retrain housekeepers. Do NOT stay no matter how cheap it is.. hotel should be closed down. Had to give it 1 star I give negative -5.
we had reservations for the high school rodeo finals, (we waited to long to book a decent hotel) WHEN we got there the guy at the desk said I CANCELED MY ROOM (WHICH I HAD NOT) Lucky for him, we found another place to stay and he refunded my money! Makes me wonder why he charged my room at 1:30pm when he said I had cancelled it?
Worst stay nasty place don't recommend any body to stay there. It is the dirtiest place not cleaned. I wasted my money there and the TV didn't have many channels and the water in the shower smelled really bad was very unhappy with the stay there
Hey if you're on a fixed income, this one is a great choice. The room was very clean and the bed was the best one on my trip from Springfield MO to San Marcos, CA. Via Mt. Rushmore. The manager, I forgot his name, was fantastic. Yes I will stay there again when in the area.
This was the worst place I have ever stayed. The walls are so thin that I could hear the people on both sides of me talking and could actually make out the conversation. Stained carpets, furniture and writing on the back of the bathroom door where children must have been kept while the adults did their thing.
I stayed here for a while because i know the manager and had just moved here from far away. They scream at the children that they cannot play outside after 4pm(even when they dont get out of school til 3:30) . There are no smoking rooms and if your door happens to get opened while someone is smoking outside the manager goes balistic screaming and running from the office to shut your door threatening to kick you out and keep your money, they refuse to give you towels or anything your room needs unless its during a 2 hour window during check out time. All i n all id say its the worst motel/chain i have ever seen, their other motels are just as bad.
Nothing that he said about the room was true. No refrigerator, no microwave and NO PHONE. Dirty, dirty, dirty. The best part, previous occupants of the room still had keys and were just coming in and out of the room. When we complained to Vin, the owner, he said it wasn't a big deal. The guy used to stay there until he was arrested for DUI, but that he was harmless. That was only the beginning. More people started coming into the room and when my husband went to the office to complain people were coming out of the room with his things. When we asked for a refund, he refused. Terrible customer service, terrible rooms. This man should not be allowed to be in business. My husband suspected it was used as a half-way house or something because of the element of people that were staying there. STAY FAR AWAY
I paid for this room in full before I saw it which I have never done as we pay when we check out every place I've ever stayed, but they have an old-school system and use paper forms so I didn't ask. I have stayed in some less than perfect m/hotels but this is by far the worst I've ever seen. There are stained linens that appear to not have been laundered, greyed and yellowed towels, stained carpet, splatters of something on walls, everything smells of cigarette smoke although we're in a non-smoking room, and each of the doors has kick or punch holes... I have never seen anything so disgusting. I could go on and on--even the bathroom floors and walls have spots, holes and filth!
Let me preface this review by telling you two things about myself - I avoid chains at all costs (restaurants, motels, whatever), and I HATE to pay more than $50 for a hotel room! I'm SLEEPING. I usually check in late and check out early! I don't care about breakfast buffets because I want to check out a local restaurant! (I also think this stems from early traveling with my brother. He and I would stay at the CHEAPEST places possible, both trying to make the other cry 'uncle', I think.) But I digress. Before I checked in, I asked the man behind the desk if it was clean and safe. "Oh" he answered, "very very clean, very very safe". Hmm. Methinks he doth protest too much. THEN I asked how much? $45 if credit card, $40 if cash! Well, shoot! I had $40! So I checked in. The one HUGE bonus of the Rainbow Motel was that they still use REAL KEYS. Y'all, I LOVE REAL KEYS!!! I always have problems with key cards! The room was fine. The bed was fine. Patterned, old sheets, like at your grandmas. A plastic mattress covering that caused me to slide a little more than usual when changing positions. Quiet. It was all fine...EXCEPT FOR THE SHOWER!!! Seriously - MAYBE 2 minutes of lukewarm water, and then nothing but ice cold. I had to use the hair dryer all over to warm up afterwards! I am a morning shower person, so maybe there's more hot water at night?? Anyway, for me, it was fine.
