This was a quick and easy one night stop for our family on a Saturday night on the way through Nebraska on I-80. It had what we needed, which were clean comfortable beds, pillows and bathrooms for a night. It was quiet. The bathrooms had been updated with granite countertops. The carpet was old (rippling in places) but clean. Our rooms (we had 2 nonsmoking rooms) smelled fine. There was a microwave and small refrigerator in each of our rooms. Didn’t try the pool or exercise facility. Breakfast for us on Sunday AM was $4/person and included a buffet of scrambled eggs, bacon & sausage, pancakes, biscuits, gravy, several kinds of cereal, 1&2% milk, and hot water for instant oatmeal for hot chocolate or tea. A few whole fruits. No melon or berries, no waffle maker (if you care about that). When I first linked from tripadviser to hotels.com, it tried to reserve for me for a week later, so I nearly made a big mistake there. I think it worked well for me that I switched to going directly to the choice hotels website, because it allowed me to select the right dates more easily. The hotel does like to recognize the loyalty program too, so it helps in that way too. Since I wanted more than one room, I had to reserve one and then click “add a room” for the next (couldn’t start with 2 rooms). I loved the people who checked me in and out from the hotel (NHahn and JGroel)- both were really nice, genuine people trying to make sure my stay went well. Only 2 suggestions I have is: (1) it is time for the vent in the bathroom to have the grill vacuumed or cleaned, and (2) the same vent is quite loud and linked to the light switch, so I couldn’t go without the vent. Harder to fix: either separate switch or new vent? Still happy with our stay.
My husband and I stayed here for an overnight while going through Nebraska. It’s clean, quiet, and the service is great. They even call you shorty after check-in to make sure your room is ok. Restaurant is good-limited vegetarian options. Full bar with great dirty martinis. Workout room has cardio machines and one weight machine- no hand weights. We will consider this again our next time through Nebraska.
This was our 2nd time staying here while traveling. We love it. Very friendly, clean, comfortable and on the cheaper side. There is a great courtyard that is perfect for our pup. There isn't a continental breakfast, but they do have a restaurant where you can get a very cheap, made to order breakfast with the voucher they give you at check in. We will stay here again during future road trips for sure.
Had a room on the first floor and it was nice and quiet all night. Welcome desk staff really friendly, and were polite even when I called just 5 seconds after checking in because I forgot how to log onto the wifi. Also the value for the $4 breakfast was great, a good selection of warm food (not just the oatmeal and bagels showcased in other places) with fresh brewed coffee. Will definitely stay here again when driving through.
Completely mediocre hotel. Kind staff (even in the middle of the night), decent beds and pillows, quiet, and convenient location to the highway. But the hotel is old and run down, and it's age shows in the old carpet, popcorn ceiling, stale smell of cigarettes in the hallways, rusty bathrooms, etc. We paid $89 plus tax for a double queen non-smoking, and I'd say this room was worth no more than $65. If you can stay in Kearney or Lincoln you'll yet more bang for your buck. $15 pet fee when we were there.
Not horrible, and the staff was sweet and fabulous, but for what we paid it just wasn't worth it. Picked the hotel because of the pool, but it was packed with kids until 11pm, so we figured we'd swim in the am but by 8am there were over 20 kids jammed into the tiny pool with an equal number of parents crammed into the space. And really, having guests have to pay $4 for a mediocre breakfast buffet was a tad insulting. TV in our room was unplugged from the cable when we got in last night and it took us a while to figure it out, and housekeeping walked in at 9am.
My wife and I were able to check in without a reservation. Access to and from the hotel to the freeway was easy The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and clean. My only concerns were about the room air conditioner; it was quite loud, and having to pay for breakfast.
This is a nice property which is closely located to I-80. It is neat and clean, has a very helpful staff and is a value in my mind. I look for a place that has a serve yourself buffet style breakfast and this Quality Inn does not. It does have its own restaurant and offers a discounted breakfast but this is not my style.
We stayed at the Quality Inn during our visit to Grand Island to watch the Solar Eclipse. We had two rooms that had a door between. We enjoyed the pool several times. It is open until 11 PM. The rooms were very nice. Bathrooms were in great condition. I felt the hallways were a little wider than most places. Our room did not have a refrigerator. The manager sent me a note saying we could have asked for a different room. They are in the process of getting fridges in all rooms. Breakfast was $4 per person. It is a nice buffet. The items were a little different each day (pancakes vs french toast; home fries vs hash browns). It was better than many breakfasts that are included free. Check in was very smooth. A quick process.
I booked a room months prior to the Total Eclipse [the center line of the eclipse ran through the intersection next to the hotel!]. Check-in was smooth; however, once we got to our room we realized this hotel actually has Smoking Rooms. And we were in one of them! Apparently there's one wing devoted to smokers. It never occurred to me to ask, since I haven't stayed at a hotel with smoking rooms in years. I spoke to Angela, the manager in charge. She scoured the list of rooms [remember, this is the weekend of the Total Eclipse] and found one for us. She was gracious in making the change. Every employee we met in the hotel - and the guests as well - was friendly. The hotel did a great job in changing their routine to accommodate the house full of eclipse followers. Rather than order off the menu, a buffet was set up for breakfast and dinner. I didn't use the pool, but many others did. The hotel sits next to a small pond that creates a splendid sunset view. The hotel, itself, can be a maze. I often met the same guests in various hallways trying to find their way to the front desk or the exit. It's a u-shaped complex with a courtyard in the center; there is no way to access the front desk or restaurant from the courtyard. Beds were comfortable, pillows were great, thin towels, quiet a/c. The rooms seem old, but serviceable. I could see a lot of pride taken in running the hotel.
