Great room on a budget.

Very nice economical motel with a friendly staff and good location close to Tarleton University. Quick check in to a modest non-smoking room that was clean and comfortable with no smell of smoke. Our stay was peacefully quiet as we didn’t hear any noise from adjacent rooms and only an occasional murmur of noise from the highway. The bed and pillows in room 105 were wonderfully comfortable so we slept great! We will definitely stay at the budget inn on our next trip to stephenville.

Although this is a older establishment, it has been lovingly remodeled and decorated. It is similar to what was once called a 'tourist court' back in the 40s & 50s. But that suits me just fine. It fills the bill for an overnight stay, as long as a person isn't overly picky. I've stayed in fancy places from LA to NYC and metro areas in between, but a little place like this has a nostalgic appeal that hard to beat.

This hotel is filthy disgusting. A light was missing in the sink area, missing a handle on the hot water, roaches, spiders and crickets INSIDE the room. The towels were not clean. Told management and they did nothing and weren’t concerned.

I would not recommend this hotel unless you ABSOLUTELY have nowhere to stay. The staff ( one older man and one younger man ) were nice. I was even able to check in 4 hours early. My room door had an opening along the door jamb from the lock to the floor letting in outside air, noise and bugs. The bed comforters were super itchy. The pillow cases had small blood stains on them. The towels felt like sand paper and one of them had a bug wrapped in the middle of it. I had the room booked from Friday to Sunday and left Saturday afternoon loosing out on a nights sleep and money. I was in town to run a Spartan race all weekend and was so uncomfortable that i returned home ( Austin...about 2 1/2 hours away ) and missed my last 2 races and lost out on that money ,$300, because i knew i wouldn't be able to recover from Saturdays race comfortably. It was a total loss of time and money. Not sure how they got rated 7 stars.
