Besides the good things about this hotel such as their nice staff, location, and the price there was a horrible smell coming from the bathroom in our room. We couldn't use it and we couldn't sleep because of the bad smell. Luckily we were only staying for one night.
The hotel was fantastic. Everything was great. It was a unique experience. Travelers should be warned not to try to access the hotel by car (especially via google instructions) as the streets are too narrow. Park your car in a downtown lot and take a taxi to the hotel. The hotel will reimburse you and give you a special deal at the parking lot.
Excellent small hotel close to the centre. Very close to the Alhambra, in fact you could see the Alhambra Palace from the hotel room. Hotel location allowed access into the main city centre within 10'mins walk, and the local bus transported you to the Alhambra in 10 mins. Taxis were very reasonable. Facilities at the hotel were very comfortable and the reception staff were efficient and friendly. We did not eat in the hotel but at the bottom of the steps were several reasonable tapis bars which offered a very reasonable breakfast. We stayed in room 6 which was large and very clean. Would certainly stay there again.
The best reason for staying in Granada is to make a proper visit to the Alhambra, and the Palacio de Santa Inez occupies a wonderful location for that. From the hotel one can easily walk to the Alhambra shop to pick up one's tickets (purchased in advance, of course) or to try to buy them if one hasn't (good luck). The bus up to the Alhambra's main gate is also within a short walk. Because the hotel lies within the Albiacin the street noise is minimal. The staff were extremely helpful to us, though we had few demands. The desk staff spoke good English. The wifi worked well in our room, but some might find the data transmission rate a bit slow. The hotel is not wheelchair accessible, and wheeled luggage needs to be carried in places especially if one has a room in the section that does not have elevator service. The first room we were offered was in that section. It was dark, Had a window that face a wall and had a significant tripping hazard. Happily we got put in another room, which was better but still didn't allow us enough space to have good access to our luggage. The hotel has the charm and shortcomings of a renovated older building. Most of the nearby restaurants are quite touristic and appear to serve mediocre, overpriced food.
In the historic district and quaint. Staff friendly but need to pay attention to detail. On check in I was given a key to a room that was already occupied and visitors were in the bed when I opened the door. The next morning the phones were not working properly and when I asked the reception to call my fellow traveler for me they insisted that person was not checked into the hotel! Strange since we arrived together the previous night. The beds were hard as rocks and the rooms were very noisy. They all faced the quaint central courtyard and travelers voices case wheels could be heard until very late. The housekeeping carts started the next morning early . The room was stuffy and stale, doors banged all the time and the plumbing was loud and every toilet flush and shower could be heard in the pipes in my room.
The Hotel Palacio Santa Ines is elegant & ancient - a combination of two 16th century houses tucked up a Cuestra (tiny connecting street) of the same name. It is a half block from the river and a view of the Alhambra and a prime walking street for a sense of old Granada. The room was very nice - beautiful (but not huge) bath. The public rooms were the classic center courtyards of the palacios, covered with skylights. All around the hotel is the historic district and just up hte hill (a bit of a walk but quite doable) was the Alhambra. The staff was very nice. My recommendation would be to park at the first car park you come to and arrive by bus or taxi, but the hotel did seem to arrange for parking somewhere.
