This is a large boat converted to a anchored floating hotel. We stayed one night with large group of family. It is ok for that kind of stay. Rooms are small but okay. Lift is not that reliable. Parking is not free. Walking distance to centre of city.
I spent a week in Goteborg, in October 2017. The hotel is really original, it was realized on board a ship. It is not expensive for the Swedish standards. The location is close enough to the centre of Goteborg, even though when you come back in hotel, in the evening, it appear a little bit isolated. The major negative aspect is that the rooms are very small.
We booked this hotel as I was looking for something a little different. It is wonderful, sitting on the canal in Goteburg. It is very close to Central Station (easily walkable with luggage) although this part of the city is undergoing major reconstruction. I was a bit down heartened when we approached as I thought it would be noisy but not at all. The cabin were so quiet. Staff are really friendly, cabins are well laid out although limited space to fully unpack, but beds were very comfortable (important criteria for us). We Dined here the first night - good food but nothing too flashy, but breakfast is a great buffet. Yesterday I even saw a seal swim past the window as I was eating. Once you work out how to get through the construction, it is very close to the "Lip-stick" building, maritime museum and shopping. We would thoroughly rcommend this hotel to friends and family.
Our family (2 adults and 4 school-age kids) stayed 2 nights during our Scandinavia vacation. The hotel, while quite basic, was in fact very comfortable and the kids enjoyed the experience of sleeping on a boat without getting seasick. Advantages: budget price, good buffet breakfast, restaurant that serves dinner (there is not much else within walking distance), accommodating staff, clean, comfortable rooms (though predictably small) Disadvantages: all rooms are for 3 people max, no connecting rooms (though staff ensured our 2 rooms were next to each other), somewhat remote location (15-20 min walk to Central Station area), fee to park in lot. We certainly made the best of our two nights there. Probably best for single or pair of travelers.
My wife and myself really enjoyed our stay in this hotel. Amazing experience and different. Staff are very friendly, available and nice. Rooms are comfortable. View on waterside is funny. Super buffet lunch in the morning. We also enjoyed an very good evening meal in the restaurant, made with love and care! Thank you for that!
Excellent service and accommodations (small but all you need). Breakfast great, dinner was great too. Can't beat view. Staff were super friendly and very helpful. Definitely recommend as part of your journey around Sweden.
This is actually a ship even if it never has sailed the seven seas. Instead it ended up bolted to a dockside in Gothenburg. I walked to the hotel from the Central station, I always walk, and it takes 20 minutes (if you have some luggage at least). The boat, or hotel, is not new and it is a bit run down. My room was not super clean either, but all this reflects upon the price. It is reasonable money for a nights sleep and the bed was alright. There is also a restaurant aboard so you don't need to go anywhere to get something to eat. A detail I actually liked was the ironing boards that you could find in the stairs. Smart!
The room was quite small but adequate for rest, sleep. It was very silent and the view was nice (for the river). I liked very much for staying at this ship. The location is not perfect, 10 min from central station but once there we can go to everywhere in Gothenburg. Also, the location of the ship (business area) seems that you are in another city, because at night and during the weekends the zone is very calm. Good to avoid city stress
This is a hotel with a difference. We had awful weather the day we arrived so could not take advantage of the sun deck. It's in a pretty good location right on the river. The breakfast buffet had a good choice and we had a good evening meal as it was too wet to go out. The bed was comfortable but the cabin is quite small with very little space for luggage. Ok for a night or two at most.
We enjoyed a few days here for the way out west festival. Clean, bright, river view. Staff very helpful, and kept our vegan food in their fridge for our breakfasts. Only minus was the walk into the City.
